It's me or all the buzz around this movie died very quickly? Other movies released this year still get threads or talked about, but seems that almost everyone forgot about this.

Everyone shut up when they fired mario
It doesn't seem unusual. Quite a few of the other threads feel some combination of shilly, trolly, or just obsessed with Hollywood box office and should frick off to Cinemaphile.
It's just a Mario movie, there isn't much to discuss. The most notable thing about it was how much money it made.
not enough cringy zoomer shit like Rosalina or Waluigi to keep the autists on here interested.
Does TLW still get threads?
Because its actually good. We only talk about crappy cartoons we hate around here.
The only thing i remember about this is that the movie's fans were throwing a hissy fit over RT's review score
I recall absolutely nothing about the movie itself. I remember the other two movies I saw that day, but not this one.
Posts like this are dumb as hell. Yes, months after release the discourse has died down. You're really observant.
Threads like these are template threads for an easy troll at this point.
It was like every other Illumination movie: totally without substance.
This. Just generic slop.
It's the least 'slop' mainstream animated film in years, though.
Except no, it isn't. You just have no standards.
The script in particular is so incredibly lazy that it beggars belief. It's what you'd get if you asked a C student to map out the hero's journey as directly as possible with Mario
wrong, if it were truly as by the numbers as possible they wouldn’t have swapped Luigi and Peach’s roles
It’s just a regular movie you fricking nerd.
>It’s just a regular movie you fricking nerd
If formulaic, lowest common denominator drivel is your definition of """normal""""
Black person, it’s Illumination. Their output is nothing but slop, this movie not exempt
Oh, so "slop" is just another word for "woke" to you because this movie is fricking slop
>Other movies released this year still get threads or talked about
Where's the Spider-Verse threads? Or Teenage Kraken threads?
The only buzz around this movie was "is it woke??" and "will it kill Disney??", it's too unremarkable for any real discourse
It was an hour commercial of that game everyone likes to play. What's there to even talk about?
It was a bad movie and the Nintendo bonus worn off.
Animated movies don't have enough substance to be talked about months after release
Probably because it wasn't any good.
It's a good film, that's about it
There's nothing to obsess over other than the casting choices
Normally you get people obsessing over a girl, some plot point or some argument they can't let go because their autism and for better or worse this movie doesn't provide much in those departments so there isn't much to discuss
I mean most of the shit that was good about this movie has been talked about already.
>Other movies released this year still get threads or talked about, but seems that almost everyone forgot about this.
Aren't we talking about it right now? You did initiate this discussion OP.
There's not really much to talk about. Honestly, the majority of threads about it were by /misc/gays about whether or not it was woke, or box office gays bragging how it beat out Disney.
its mario
what is there to talk about?
"i wish mario jumped and went wahoo more"
The movie is old enough for waifu circlejerk discussion to be the only thing left and Peach has that in spades already with or without the movie.
It was a fun but very very simple movie. It's the most straight forward Mario Sloppa. Everyone was the way they were meant to be. There was no King Koopa acting like Red Guy from Cown & Chicken like in the DIC cartoon. Bowser was just the same uppity simp he was in the games.
what is there to discuss about? it did nothing new or groundbreaking
Its a minions type slop dressed in a mario skin
Well it WAS fricking shitty. The epitome of carried by the brand.
Hype lasted a while, about 2ish months or so, that is actually kind of normal.
What we no longer have is that second wave of hype when a DVD/Bluray comes out about 3-5 months later. Which should be right about now if it was still 2009.
