Kubrick generally is. He could work a camera, that's about it.

dumb contrarian take. But I'll entertain it for now. If Kubrick's mid i like to know what are good directors? There must be plenty better considering Kubrick's only mid.

James Gunn. He oozes style. Kubrick is too sterile

The message needs to be transported as sterile and as plain as possible for the human mind to perceive you idiot, that's why you're a prick, you can't understand it

Unpopular opinion but e-girlta is his best 60s movie. Peter Sellers in it is better too

          Are we discussing nukes?
          >SI VIS PACEM PARA BELLUM
My history teacher explained it to us.
          >If you want peace, prepare for war
At first I thought it meant peace was something you have to fight for. Which seemed a little odd.

Basically you have to build an army so big nobody will ever want to attack you. Which would explain nukes and then you have mutually assured destruction. MAD. What's even the point in telling a country they have to deconstruct some of their nuclear arsenal? Either you have it or you don't. You can't just have 'some nukes'. Wtf
          >I'm keeping them for a rainy day.

This whole thing seems ridiculous to me anyway. If there were monkeys in charge, we would've nuked ourselves a long time ago. You need to have some faith.

I know about the supernations theory through listening to officers of the german army and their take of never making an army so big it can't be defeated and that supernations will control the world.

The russians and the US have a impolite discussion over who and where belongs to whom. It's disgusting and the excesses we can see right now with our own eyes. European nations are being used against a fight against russia which could have been done 80years ago through the wehrmacht. It's a play, I'm sure it's a play

We have been nuking ourselves constantly for many decades. How do you think they tested and continue to nukes, computer simulations only?

I remember in the nineties when Chirac was president in France there was a very big protest over them testing a nuke in the ocean. I don't remember in what ocean. Why the frick would France test a nuke? And what about the sealife, or it ending up on our plate? Maybe I'm not educated enough on how big the oceans actually is. Supposedly, it was tested in a place where no sea life existed. I'm not one to go wave the rainbow flag on a greenpeace boat, but this all is fishy right? And what about that Fukushima plant and radioactivity ending up in our Toyota seats? Doesn't make a difference if you read about it or you don't. It's not fatalism. Try to make a difference in your own small community. And let the world at large frick off.

Generally speaking, if a movie or other medium needs to take massive liberties with the system it's criticising and has to turn everyone involved into an absolute moron for the criticism to work, it's a shit criticism for morons. Strangelove is basically scary movie for boomers.
