dumb contrarian take. But I'll entertain it for now. If Kubrick's mid i like to know what are good directors? There must be plenty better considering Kubrick's only mid.
The message needs to be transported as sterile and as plain as possible for the human mind to perceive you idiot, that's why you're a prick, you can't understand it
Are we discussing nukes? >SI VIS PACEM PARA BELLUM
My history teacher explained it to us. >If you want peace, prepare for war
At first I thought it meant peace was something you have to fight for. Which seemed a little odd.
Basically you have to build an army so big nobody will ever want to attack you. Which would explain nukes and then you have mutually assured destruction. MAD. What's even the point in telling a country they have to deconstruct some of their nuclear arsenal? Either you have it or you don't. You can't just have 'some nukes'. Wtf >I'm keeping them for a rainy day.
This whole thing seems ridiculous to me anyway. If there were monkeys in charge, we would've nuked ourselves a long time ago. You need to have some faith.
I know about the supernations theory through listening to officers of the german army and their take of never making an army so big it can't be defeated and that supernations will control the world.
The russians and the US have a impolite discussion over who and where belongs to whom. It's disgusting and the excesses we can see right now with our own eyes. European nations are being used against a fight against russia which could have been done 80years ago through the wehrmacht. It's a play, I'm sure it's a play
>If there were monkeys in charge, we would've nuked ourselves a long time ago.
We have been nuking ourselves constantly for many decades. How do you think they tested and continue to nukes, computer simulations only?
Vegas, deserts, the ocean, various atolls, underground, the atmosphere, and all around the country dispersing radioactive material just to see what happens.

I remember in the nineties when Chirac was president in France there was a very big protest over them testing a nuke in the ocean. I don't remember in what ocean. Why the frick would France test a nuke? And what about the sealife, or it ending up on our plate? Maybe I'm not educated enough on how big the oceans actually is. Supposedly, it was tested in a place where no sea life existed. I'm not one to go wave the rainbow flag on a greenpeace boat, but this all is fishy right? And what about that Fukushima plant and radioactivity ending up in our Toyota seats? Doesn't make a difference if you read about it or you don't. It's not fatalism. Try to make a difference in your own small community. And let the world at large frick off.
It’s superb and as usual way ahead of it’s time. Calling all politicians, generals and even scientists bumbling dogmatic morons in various ways was very accurate & cannot be refuted. Done in a way this entertaining and memorable is the icing on the cake
Generally speaking, if a movie or other medium needs to take massive liberties with the system it's criticising and has to turn everyone involved into an absolute moron for the criticism to work, it's a shit criticism for morons. Strangelove is basically scary movie for boomers.
Kubrick generally is. He could work a camera, that's about it.

James Gunn. He oozes style. Kubrick is too sterile
The message needs to be transported as sterile and as plain as possible for the human mind to perceive you idiot, that's why you're a prick, you can't understand it
James Gunn, Okay then. Next?
This is genuinely my least favorite Kubrick film not counting Fear and Desire
Who the frick is James Gunn
Dr. Strangelove is his best movie
Unpopular opinion but e-girlta is his best 60s movie. Peter Sellers in it is better too
I'm the anon. My favorite director is Park Chan Wook. I also like Scorsese.
Low iq opinion, kys you moronic nobody
This sucked. Maybe I should give it a rewatch 20 years later. I mean, I didn't like 2001 the first two times I tried to watch it.
was too goddam slow. don't have the patience
The schizo commander and George C Scott are the only enjoyable character from this film
It really improves on repeat viewings.
That's called Stockholm Syndrome anon
No, its called the mere-exposure effect aka the familiarity principle.
>trust me bro, it gets good 300 hours in
for real
It perfectly explains the critical theory, of course it's mid to you
>It perfectly explains the critical theory
Wtf....elaborate?
The withdrawal of all weapons in existence and giving them away to foreign enemies over a "better world"
also the end shows how the last shot was given right into the enemy with a great huraaa which is seen as a disgusting move
Are we discussing nukes?

Where?

He said ocean but yeah. Islands near Hawaii and next to the pacific were nuked together with bystanders who got googles for their safety
>mid
what does this mean
meddling in dookie
5/10
>I don't understand the intricacies of this masterpiece
Peter Sellers carried that movie so hard
That's what they hire him for.
Yeah, I was just really impressed by his performance, also he was fantastic in e-girlta, those are the only two movies I've ever seen him in before
I really liked the 'Pink Panther' movies. But they seem to be movies that time forgot. Maybe it's just youth sentiment.
Kubrick hired a lot of people, but Sellers was the only one he allowed to ad lib and improvise.
I want to see the pie fight ending. We were robbed.
the bomb le exploded?
The War Game is funnier

Did commies really introduce foreign substances into our precious bodily fluids?

It was straight in your face and never apologized which is why it's considered a great movie nowadays
strangelove is good but it really gets mogged hard by this lumetkino
