Gunn's is never going to get off the ground, if he makes any of those movies it'll be Superman and even that is going to bomb, because the capeshit bubble done burst.
Gunn should've had DC stick to making standalone movies instead of trying to restart a whole cinematic universe when even Marvel is starting to lose mass audiences. His Superman movie might be successful but his decision to have 2 simultaneous Batman movie universes with different actors coming out at the same time is idiotic. It's so obvious he doesn't actually have any plan for what he's doing and it's going to show in the profit margin.

This one would've been kino, look at all that talent compared to the dogshit in the OP pic. I rewatched the Mummy 2017 and it was good, I have no idea why people were screeching. Ending was a bit shitty but still a decent twist and setup for future. How they cancelled all projects with A list names attached is beyond me when WB kept that pile of trash going for 10 years with literal whos.
They actually kept trying to get this off the ground for years but failed to commit on anything, basically utter incompetency saved them from wasting money.
>aquaman, wonderwoman, homiendroid, superman...
half of the DCEU characters suck ass, I'm not surprised it failed.
They should have done the Batman CU
It could have been kino
WB is so moronic, they keep trying to keep this failed abortion going and split it into different "universes" when the smartest move was just to hard stop it all and reboot it from the ground up years ago. Justice League bombing should have been that point. And here they are STILL not rebooting it but "half rebooting" it, when most of it tanked and failed anyway.
By the time Justice League bombed they already filmed Aquaman and Shazam. Just like by the time Superman Legacy bombs DC will have 20 other projects being worked on and filmed.
>hurr durr we're the grimdark version of the MCU >...except with absolutely none of the planning and long thinking that the MCU has >...or a cohesive style that runs like a red thread through all the movies >...or really any good idea for movies we're just winging it
It was stillborn and kept alive with big budgets, name recognition, and 2010s capeshit hype
There are only two good things about the entire DCEU and they're both Kryptonian tomboys.
Three I guess if you're one of those musclegays and are into the amazons.
I feel like the comic book cinematic landscape is completely ass-backwards.
The universe that has a super-soldier from WWII, a billionaire industrialist, a couple of assassins The Punisher and a bunch of of other street-level characters who live in actual real-life cities and whose most iconic villain is a nihilist is the universe that's basically a series of action comedies. And the universe that has the the goofiest, most ridiculous characters like the spandex laser eye alien man, magic space ring man, le attosecond man and fishbro is trying to be grim and dark and "realistic"
True, never understood this. Marvel fits the dark and gritty mold way better, Miller's Daredevil run is some of the best fricking comics ever created.

crossovers were always meant to be dumb what-if scenario gimmicks, not actual fleshed out stories. it's only natural that these "shared universe" narratives end up completely incoherent.
I disagree with this. The contradictory nature of both cinematic universe's tones and exposition creates dissonance which more accurately connects with the viewer. Also DC was always an edgelord's wet dream, even going back to the 80s.
Wonder Woman and Aquaman being big hits was the worst thing that could've happened.
If all the first few movies flopped and were badly received, we would probably already be in a reboot. But those 2 hits made WB think this shit was still salvageable.
I think this is some sort of marketing thing. Several news sources are saying it's ending with Aquaman 2 - but watch out for Superman reboot #2324 coming out in 2025, which reboots the DCEU!
It will never be over because "The DCEU" isn't a thing. It's a cope used by DCucks to desperately try and distance these shitty DC movies from every other shitty DC movie over the last 50 years.
it reeks of "people are feeling like the MCU is too wide and vast, so let's keep telling them the DCCU is starting fresh and they can experience it from the beginning! even if it's not true at all!"
It ended when they got Snyder to do Man of Steel and BvS
I'm glad this franchise died though because me as an EX-Marvelchad had to endure jealous pajeets shitting on Marvel all the time while trying to tell them why the franchise failed and why Marvel succeeded and they just didn't get it.
But now Marvel is making the same mistakes as the DCEU did back in the day, guess it's truly time for comic book movies to die and I hope they do, I hope ALL future Marvel movies bomb
Completely underwhelming and mismanaged at every turn.
10 years? Felt like 20. Frick capeshit.
>Did you guys enjoy the ride? Was worth it?
Yeah, sometimes.
>Did you guys enjoy the ride? Was worth it?
NO & NO. Completely wasted opportunity.
Started off terrible. Got worse when DC tried to damage control and become MCU 2.0. Can't wait for Gunn to frick it up even harder.

How the frick did this become the competent cinematic universe

The only good movie from this pile of shit of a corporate diarrhea was new Suicide Squad. Haven't seen Shazam though.
The what?
I liked the movies w/Superman, particularly Man of Steel
Thank god
Why is it over? Is there no DC movies anymore?
No see
They're trying to start fresh and pretend like they weren't pumping out some of the biggest garbage in the history of cinema before.
>They're trying to start fresh
>Peacemaker season 2 and an Amanda Waller show starring Viola Davis
There's no more with this cast. Now it's brand new actors except the one who worked with Gunn on The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker
>aquaman, wonderwoman, homiendroid, superman...
half of the DCEU characters suck ass, I'm not surprised it failed.
They should have done the Batman CU
It could have been kino
James Gunn Superman is cancelled? ??
Aquaman 1
Shazam 1
Wonder Woman 1
Everything else was trash and even those movies aren’t great

/thread.
True, never understood this. Marvel fits the dark and gritty mold way better, Miller's Daredevil run is some of the best fricking comics ever created.
MOS was the only good one as Iron Man 1 is the only good one too.
Zack Snyder is a fricking homosexual

You are correct, except I was stupid enough to take my wife to fricking WW84 there's 50 bucks I am not getting back.
