It's not winning if both flopped. You realize the comparison makes Black Adam look bad, right? It's saying "The Flash had fewer viewers than the previous flop".
WB burned the Rock hard when Black Adam underperformed. It's amusing to see everything they have released since flop even harder, specially the one they shilled as "one of the best comic book movies ever made."
>WB burned the Rock hard when Black Adam underperformed.
Probably because the dude was a fricking diva that tried to make the entire thing about him and then when it bombed looked a moron.
He's right though, Black Adam should've been a sequel or prequel to Shazam and then both of them should've thought in the Shazam sequel. That would've brought the audience in, not whatever the frick happened in Shazam 2.
Look at that goblin and tell me you want to watch that film
And this was before I knew the fricked up things he did, like Weinstein before him sexual assault was the only way this guy was ever going to get laid >but thats an unflattering photo
Come on you know im right even at the best of times he looks like a potato
>sexual assault was the only way this guy was ever going to get laid
He's a twink. A lot of women (and men) are into that. I haven't seen any of his movies, but I think he's an annoying tit. That said, I promise you, he's got no problems getting laid.
Weird because this doesn't seem to apply to Marvel. In fact I bet The Marvels will sell very well, maybe not the billion they are hoping but it's gonna be one of the top blockbusters this year, while Blue Beetle and Aquaman 2 fight for scraps.
I'm skeptical about the Marvels. It requires a lot of TV show setup and as much as I like Ms.Mavel and thought her show as fine, none of them are a draw themselves. Combine that with waning interest in the MCU in general and I wouldn't be shocked if we have a flop on our hands.
The real question will be this year if The marvels breaks even this year, its kind of the key indicator for how people will face marvel movies in 23.
I guarantee The Marvels will do well for two factors:
1) the runtime (hour and a half instead of the two hour+ superhero movies lately
2) the fact it's setting up Incursions, the next big conflict in the MCU will make this an essential watch for whatever's next.
Sure enough, Monica and Kamala both required people to watch two shows but I'm willing to bet they'll skirt this the same way Doctor Strange did with Wanda.
Runtime maybe i can agree, but we also have to see if the fatigue of flash spreads to this movie. We are coming of the heels of people hating secret invasion & flash stuff as well as the success of of barbie and oppenheimer. >I dont think it will be some kind of flash failure but I think a perfect storm of bad reviews can kill this movies chance at box office success.
Flash wasn't the last DCU movie released, it was Blue Beetle and we can confidently say that fatigue spread there. But the MCU isn't really in the same situation here, the last movies have done well in terms of box office, with Love and Thunder being a critical flop. People will compare The Marvels to CM2 and say it's a failure because it won't make a billion, but I'm fairly certain it will be around the 800MM mark.
I would be more worried about the Secret Invasion stink though, that's the first fully confirmed show flop.
>this doesn't seem to apply to Marvel
Did you just forget the last Antman movie making even less than the first?
I guess we did. But the Ant-Man series has never sold that well, Ant-Man and The Wasp grossed 622MM, which is less than the first Doctor Strange did (677MM).
If people didn’t show up for blue Thanos Kang, why the frick would they care about Incursions
Its only hope is to be significantly cheaper to produce than most cape movies recently. It it isn’t super expensive it might conceivably not bomb super hard
>Its only hope is to be significantly cheaper to produce than most cape movies recently. It it isn’t super expensive it might conceivably not bomb super hard >All three characters require heavy CGI effects
Oh nonononono....

I think Cinemaphile overestimates how much people care about keeping up with the minutiae of the MCU. A basic dialogue recap should suffice to contextualize Monica and Kamala for those who haven't watched their shows.
I bothers me as well. Do people forgot that the term "blockbuster" came from successful movies who had lines that stretched around the block? We should just call them AAA movies or something.
I watched this only a few days ago, and I can't rememeber a fricking thing about it. I know "soulless" gets thrown around a lot these days, often by morons who just use it to describe "thing I don't like", but this truly is a soulless movie. I would be shocked if anyone who isn't a WB suit and shill actually cared about this shit.
Kek that thumbnail pic. Was in the middle of getting his ass gaped?
Yes

Keep coping, Levi.

Capeshit fatigue
Spider-Man sells fine still.
Groomer fatigue

Frick I wasn't aware of that. It's going to be super disjointed and rushed

The correct term would be "tentpole movie."
Since when do streaming platforms actually release their numbers?
They both failed

why is everyone obsessed with weird esoteric statistics these days?
>Execs admit all of Snyder’s movies were very profitable
Why did they replace him again?
Get woke go broke
keep being woke conservatives and don't bring in the women like in the comics, Warner is not my money lol keep doing that idiots
