I'm actually sad. I really needed more american dad shenanigans.

I'm surprise the show is still on considering it was never that huge and is niche compared to many other adult cartoons. Even Futurama is bigger with the mainstream.

      >Even Futurama is bigger with the mainstream.
Are you implying Futurama isn't one of the biggest "adult" cartoons and only had a cult following? Are you a fresh zoomer or something?

Many anons say that Futurama failed while American Dad is a huge hit because it has more epiodes.

And how often do you notice American Dad being referenced, searched, merchandised, talked about, etc. compared to Futurama?

            about the same tbh
maybe if it was like 2012 you'd have a point, but nobody really talks about either

despite american dad hitting it's prime within the last 5 seasons and futurama being as boring as ever

One of these is an ongoing show that has never ceased production (as far as I'm aware). The other was on and off for a while and has since not seen new episodes in nearly a decade. If both of these are just as commonly known and discussed, which do you think has the bigger impact?

I read it as an example of a show that's ended, multiple times but still, despite being more mainstream that AD which has still been going.

As long as the next set of episodes has the family ruins someones life or the return of Thundercat I'll be happy.

      American dadders? We lost!

Why not just call yourselves Daddies instead?

"American Dadders" is an official term used in the actual show itself

It's been dead for years though.
This is the same TBS that advertised American Dad as edgy, then removed the "That's why you keep getting molested" scene.

      Wait when
I just saw that scene in Star+

It must have been when American Dad was first picked up by TBS. They might have put it back in.

It won't be cancelled. The remaining episodes will be sold to Hulu so WarnerDiscovery can make big, quick cash fast. They don't own the streaming rights and cable is dead, so they're just looking how to profit. Question is if they'll get to keep rerunning it on TBS/adult swim. If not, adult swim is fricked.

I wish people would stop using the word cancelled and use not renewed instead. Cancelled makes it seem like it it was in the middle of production and just stopped not during negotiations for renewal.

Good. The show's a little stale but it hasn't gone completely off the cliff and they can still end it with dignity.

It'll be pretty goddamn nice to see an "adult" American animated series have a relatively satisfactory run. Yes, I'll be a little sad to see it go but, it's not like I can take the attitude that it was never given a chance.

I know better but I'm wishing the Bob's Burgers people have the sense to make the next season their last.

You know that's never going to happen. Any show that has had any cultural success, and therefore marketability, is going to be driven into the ground until everyone hates it. This is why The Simpsons is still going. This is why American Dad and Family Guy are still going. This is why they're trying to revive Futurama again. This is why we're getting new episodes of The Cleveland Show in five years.

I read it as an example of a show that's ended, multiple times but still, despite being more mainstream that AD which has still been going.

That's pretty much my point. Futurama is over, even if it gets revived it's still had its ending. Yet it's just as, if not more, relevant as American Dad which is still ongoing.

        >This is why they're trying to revive Futurama again.
This is where I lost hope, I could see AD ending for being considerably smaller than FG but so was Futurama next to The Simpsons.
These shows will outlive us all.

Disney owns it they will move it either to Freeform or ABC

I don't see the point in comparing American Dad to Futurama. American Dad is superior with the laughs so you want to compare to something like Family Guy.. Futurama is better at the heartwarming stuff so I'd compare it to Bob's

This is a good thing, end it before it becomes Simpsons tier

Eh. It's for the best. The show ran out of creative steam a long time ago and has no idea what to do with itself.

Did anybody bother to read the article? It's entirely speculative.

That's obvious from the title. It's just an excuse to talk about the idea of American Dad ending.

No, because my reading comprehension skills are at least of the basic level. As such reading the link to the article is more than enough for me to know just how much of a waste of time it would be to actually read it. Just like this post.

When AD moved to TBS it became more 'whacky' like Rick and Morty. Less grounded. Lots of silly little lolsorandom scenes. So, I'm happy with it ending.
