They could have made half of the movie with all Flashpoint elements and in the other half the war would have stopped because Zod would have arrived and they would have gathered to face Zod and I think that in the end the budget would have been smaller or they should have made a version more faithful to the comics and give a dignified farewell to the characters and actors but they tried to do it in a way that they would try to save one or two actors from a dead franchise and as already mentioned Powergirl would be a better choice and a fresh air in this style of film that has already lost the interest of the normies

      Good lord

Tracking forums are predicting less than 400m worldwide at the end which would be a disaster. Not to mention that studios get a larger percentage from domestic.

Probably for the best Green Lantern got to sit out this entire disaster. It means when the new reboot gets to him they can start out without any prior baggage or expectations from the previous movies or the ryan reynolds movie.

Green Lantern is untranslatable to live action

The writers at DC would've made it into a cuck-drama based off the name and the fact that they don't read comics.

we just need a fricking 10 year break from it all DC and Marvel for all kinds of reasons and I say 10 because a decade break sounds fair when they want to just keeping doing it for literally forever.

It was doomed to fail the second Ezra Miller went crazy and even more doomed once James Gunn announced the forthcoming reboot.

They really should have just done a quick replacement with another guy, wouldn't be the first time. yeah its a bit larger scale but you can just keep the cgi action stuff and only replace the shit where he shows his ugly alien looking face.

I don’t know if you’ve looked at the Flash before but his mask doesn’t cover his entire face so they’d have to reshoot the in-costume action too. The only recyclable material would be back shots which there aren’t gonna be a lot of.

They'd have to reshoot the entire film. He's in it that much. That's why they had to stick with him.

James Gunn basically killed any hype this movie had. Just like he killed any hype Shazam 2 had.

That's what they call in the business 'Selling old inventory'. Hyping up the bad product to get it out of the way and make up what little money you can. So you can focus on selling the new product next quarter.

It'll at least break even just based on the fact that it has no real competition for the next 4 weeks, Indiana Jones was supposed to be there to compete with it after 2 weeks but Ford is geriatric and the movie is doa.

I sincerely doubt it, the budget has to be absurdly high based on the sheer number of rewrites and reshoots the movie went through

    >WB neglected the majority of their 2023 slate's marketing money to instead promote Flash
    >Bought a 7m super bowl ad, sometging they haven't done since 2006 (BvS ad was paid by turkish airlines)
    >Had numerous celebs shill the film as the "Best DC film since TDK"
    >Probably paid for Ezra's rehab on top of it
    >All to possibly get mogged by Miles fricking Morales
How long until WBD goes bankrupt? They're in an enormous amount of debt as it is.

I think part of the appeal of Marvel for mainstream audiences is the continuity. People will go and watch Marvel movies they don't really care about just to keep up with the larger plot.
People already know The Flash is part of a dead franchise, James Gunn is resetting everything. So there's no point in watching it to "keep up" with everything. Thus it has to survive on its own merits, and everything about the movie looks terrible.
