Did kids really leave their house on Saturday mornings? I don't think I ever left my room from morning cartoons, afternoon video games, and night time anime as a child.
>Early 2000's kids were the true decline
This is false gay youre like a decade off, early 2010s is when you started not seeing as much kids playing outside as the previous eras
My family only had a small Samsung in the living room so I spent a lot of time outside. Plus I always had soccer games/ tournaments on the weekends.
I mostly watched cartoons during the school week after I got home. Tons of Pokemon, Adventure Time, Regular Show, etc. and also Nazi Zombies, Halo firefight, and MW2 on the 360.
I used to eat Gripz and Cinammon Pop Tarts. loved the hot fudge sundae flavor as well. never tried waffle crisp. my go-to cereal was Blueberry Morning from Post select
I only spent time in the house when I had to eat, sleep, wash or do homework because there was nothing to watch on tv or do by myself. Then I got internet around 2006 and that was the end for me.
I wish I had cable as a kid. Missed out on so much cool shit. I went to one of my friend's grandparents' house who were rich and he showed me Toonami on their big screen TV. It blew my mind.
I wish my family never got rid of cable. My life got noticeably worse after that. Time started moving so much faster without scheduled programming to mark the passage of time. There was no background noise to play video games or just chill to, just dead silence throughout the whole house. Frick streaming. We used to be a nation of quality, now everything is disposable slop.
I remember seeing one of those massive early 00s HDTVs that weighed like 300 lbs for the first time at a semi rich kids house in 2nd grade and I felt like I had time travelled 50 years into the future
A vaguely remember my friend's mom and her boyfriend had an ugly TV with deep black lines on the screen, I thought it was broken but that's how it's supposed to look?
My overprotective mom would flip the frick out when I woke up at 7AM to watch cartoons. She didn't want me being up and about because she was always afraid I would kill myself accidentally so I never got to watch many. Thank you mom for fricking me up and causing me to post on this site of social misfits
I'm playing Mario Golf after watching Spongebob. Perhaps later I will play Pokemon Ruby, but it's a beautiful spring day so I might play outside and drink one of these first. I have no idea that I will be severely depressed in 20 years.
most kids in the "early 00's" were still playing the last gen waiting for new shit to go on sale or going over to their rich friends house to play it. this is just how it was. again, you would know if you were there.
Ended up where? On Cinemaphile where only poor people post? Again not everyone is you

you made it sound like you had so much going on in your life and that this wasn't too serious and you started making fun of other people based on assumptions, but you're still here. why is that? it kind of alludes that you don't exactly have much going on at all, and that you argue over incredibly petty things, and make fun of others based on assumptions in an attempt to lift yourself up in some small way.

9:00AM: random sponge bob episodes
11:00AM: go outside and play
2:00PM: come home to eat a snack maybe watch more tv
3:00PM play some video games
5:00PM go back outside and play
7:00PM go to blockbuster
homie, where do you live that Wild Force came on at 7? In Mississippi it came on at noon, and there was always a huge risk my parents would want to go out for lunch and shopping and I might miss tokukino.
I wish i could remember better what i actually did as a kid.
Those exact cookies & creme pop tarts were on heavy rotation. I didnt play many games because I had an n64 with just a few games, which was really outdated in the 2000s. I mostly drew, wrote, and played with friends in the woods around the suburbs. For TV i really liked Billy & Mandy. But there were periods when we didnt have cable so i subsisted on the same few tapes and DVD's over and over again.
>cartoons
All gay and shitty animation. I knew cartoons were doomed when Adventure Time and Regular Show tier animation was the norm. Cal Arts fricking ruined everything. >video games
Really the only thing that was improved over time, but there's too many games like The Last Of Us which are basically just interactive movies. >cereal
Do they still even put those cheap little toys in the boxes anymore? >playgrounds
No merry go round? No thank you. Going past my childhood park sucks. They got rid of the sandbox for some gay foam shit, and they got rid of the tire tunnel and merry go round because some c**t parents whined over them.
I got a slim for Christmas in 2004 with Jet Li Rise to Honor. Before then it was only SNES and N64.
I remember opening it thinking my mom got gypped and bought some 3rd party knock off console.
It worked well even with the lack of a fan, but the disk "tray" sucked. It popped open from the top and the door was flimsy as shit. I had to put something on top of it heavy enough for the game to actually work but not too heavy it would push the disk down. Every single game would get a perfect ring scratched around the hole.
Funny how my life was growing up. Internet wasnt allowed at home but i had a N64 and own tv (without reception) in my bedroom from age 10, and when i was 13-16 i had a desktop pc that could run jedi academy and wc3 and i had unlimited access to it. Now my kids get 1 hour screen time with occasional extra pc time (no tablets) with strict supervision. Mainly because my wife, i dont really care but its funny how things change.
Honestly most of my memories as a kid before the age of like 12 is 1. Waiting for school to end so the weekend comes and 2. Being dragged to some garbage I didn't want to do on the weekend when I really wanted to stay home and consoom.
The peak of my life was probably 13-17 because I had good friends and my parents gave up on boring me to death
I still get to do some of this on my saturdays, my kiddo and I watch old saturday morning cartoon blocks on youtube in the morning while we eat breakfast. Lifes good yo.

Yeah, kids had bikes and squirt guns.
