Nasal spray isn’t nearly as effective. And ketamine builds up a resistance so you need to do more to get the same effect. It’s a big ass scam but because it actually does help certain parts of PTSD everyone wants to try it with out being told what it’s for. It’s also expensive as frick for a legit ketamine treatment with someone who dispenses the drug, than helps you with therapy through the process.

Your addiction guru is just describing what addiction is. He's grown into a bitter c**t about it and you respond to it because it echoes your own belief. People who don't have addictions are pathetic in how they can't understand how simple of a concept addiction is. It's all about their discomfort. It's amazing, really, how nonaddicts literally siphon the problems of addiction and make it all about their plight and themselves while other people actually suffer. Pathetic.

This is actually true. People who don’t have addictions are such callous bastards towards people who do. Drug addiction is degeneracy, for sure, but for people who don’t understand it to forcibly shit on people who do, it’s an extremely uneven playing field.

          >just quit doing the drug
          >just accept your lifetime of suffering and discomfort
          >just deal with always wishing you could get high and escape your flavorless life

These aren’t long-term solutions to addiction because they inevitably cause one to bounce back. The best you can hope for is to learn how to exert some self-control and cope with lengthy periods of sobriety in between the periods of indulgence.

              >no man, you don't understand, stop judging me just because I have no self-control and can't commot to not shooting heroin

Heroin is a drug that will significantly increase your quality of life when you’re on it and then make it a hellish nightmare when you’re off it. Taking that gambit isn’t the wisest decision, but considering the nature of life and existence in general, I can hardly blame someone for going down that path.

again, wrong, it doesn't increase your quality of life, even temporarily. it just makes you feel the sensation of pleasure while putting you in a physical stupor, that's it.

                >but considering the nature of life and existence in general, I can hardly blame someone for going down that path.
this is classic junkie romanticism and spiritualism. "oh the universe..it's so big and consequence free...guess i better just burn my life out on heroin and ruin all my relationships, it doesn't matter anyway"
literally anyone whose ever known a heroin addict has heard this bullshit a million times before.

i can and do blame people for making that decision because unlike you i was properly socialized and therefore understand that "things that make life worse for my friends, family, community, society, and country are bad"

                >muh empathy
drug addicts LITERALLY do nothing but make the lives of everyone around them worse, and then have the gall to whine about it to the very people they hurt lol
Why would anyone have any sympathy for a drug addict?

Moreover anyone who knows shit about how drug addiction actually feels and works knows that unless you are a wet brain alcoholic or have done so many benzos you'll have seizures if you stop, 99%+ of the addiction is purely mental. in your head. psychological. not physical. can literally be ignored. can literally be 'mind over matter'ed out of existence.

but people who become drug addicts are - almost definitionally - constitutionally and mentally weak and so we have a problem where the very people who need this advice are quite literally too feeble minded and pathetic to take the advice they need.

nah, the people who are most callous to chronic addicts are people who are ex-addicts
it's like how someone who came from poverty who made something of themselves often are really tough on the morons back home

            for example
            >just quit doing the drug
literally yes that's how you stop being an addict

            >just accept your lifetime of suffering and discomfort
the suffering and discomfort following the immediate withdrawal effects is psychological not physical. the impact to neurochemistry is often extremely overrated by most addicts and used as an excuse by them to neurotically fixate on their romanticized past drug addiction.
there are some exceptions to this but in the vast majority of cases 'its le physical' is an excuse for not wanting to accept they need to put their past behind them permanently

            >just deal with always wishing you could get high and escape your flavorless life
there is no difference between an addict who relapses to get high to escape their flavorless life, and someone who has never touched drugs before consciously deciding one day to become a heroin addict to escape their flavorless life
in the second case, we obviously would say "this person is fricking moronic, that is no solution to their problems, what a bad decision, shame on them". it is no different in the first case.

              Anonymous

              >literally yes that’s how you stop being an addict
Except it almost never fricking works, so that doesn’t really solve the issue at hand.

Psychological pain might not be life threatening as immediately as the physical withdrawals of certain drugs such as alcohol, but it is pain nonetheless. There is a reason an addict will willingly return to a self-destructive lifestyle, and that reason is to escape the pain and discomfort of a sober life.

Strating to abuse drinking is not a disease that is a choice but once you cross into alcoholism territory it really is a disease, it becomes a chemical dependence.

It's wild how there's so much scam products in the US. You'd think that given their vicinity to Mexico that the coke would be very pure, but the purity is terrible and keeps going down. Whereas in Europe it's the exact opposite and even street nogs are selling 40-50% pure coke.
Same thing with things like molly. Europe is overflowing with 85-90% purity whereas in the US you're playing Russian roulette because half the time it's some weird chemical wienertail cooked up by Randy McCleetus in his trailer.

Buddy, even stepped on US coke is salvageable. You just need some acetone (WITHOUT vitamin e), a microwave, and a coffee filter. Cocaine hydrochloride isn't soluble in acetone, but pretty much everything it gets cut with is, other than dried lidocaine (for the numb nose feeling) which isn't generally added for bulk unless you know your custie is gonna try to rock it into crack and won't know the diff

Europe now is like Miami in the 80s minus the violence. South American cartels shifted to Europe as their main market because there is no political heat like there is in the US that makes them prone to extradition and they can sell their product for a lot more. Their partnership with Ndrangheta as a reliable European distributor also keeps operations running smooth. European countries that saw at most 500kg busts a few years ago are now suddenly seeing 5-10 ton busts. The market is overflowing with coke and that's why purity levels keep going up

It's the same reasons why America is so violent. There is too much stupidity and disregard for life for street drugs to stay clean. And it's not just race or poverty, even though those concentrate problems. Rich whites like Matt also want to kill or be killed in their own ways.

Celebrities who are just casual users just get the drugs for free at parties or from friends. When they start overindulging is when they get cut off and get desperate for dealers. If you ever want to meet celebrities, just go to LA and start sharing cocaine. If people know you have coke they'll all be your friend and every stripper, pornstar and c-list celebrity will sleep with you. Cocaine is expensive as hell, so good luck with that.

Tarantino broke into Hollywood being the drug guy at Hollywood parties which makes you wonder how he was plugged up when he was supposed to be a poorgay that worked at a video store. Checked by the way.

I think a lot of people have broken into the Hollywood scene by being the drug guy at parties. Celebs don't like paying for shit. I think most of the new wave of talent that broke out in the sixties and seventies started as drug guys. Tarantino's video store origin is too wholesome. He was definitely dealing on the side. Lots of people with shitty jobs do that. I find that trainers, staff and low level coaches at sports teams usually have access to high level stuff and are involved in that. It makes you wonder why LA has so many pro sports teams.

There are whole bunch of zoomers and psueds on Cinemaphile. So let you me correctl you all.

When you drink and do heaps of pharmaceutical opiates in your 20's like Matthew did its the best. It feels like heaven and you can exist high as frick under the radar and not burn out and look like a crack head like others

As soon as your 40s hit you are fricked though. Your brain needs so much, you can never get high and your liver fricks out from drinking. Then you are ina viscous cycle. Then your connections dry up and you can doctor shop anymore

Sooner or later you hit rehab death. Sobriety fricks you up and so do bupe and suboxone and ketamine the doo gooders try and replace it with. And then you die.

Men arent l=meant to live beyond their 50s and he would have been much happier drinking and on Heroin and putting a bullet in his head.

Meh, maybe just relapsed alot. My uncle runs an AA meeting out of his guest house and he tells me there are guys that will get a year and celebrate and have to start over, guys with 10 to 15 one year sobriety chips. Some guys amass 5 year chips or 1 month chips. You have people that can stay and others that can just hold out for a time before they slip again. I wouldn't know, the whole sobriety condition is large misunderstood, alot of people think you can become recovered from an addiction but you are always an addict

      Anonymous

I personally think one issue is the terminology itself. The idea of addiction separates certain parties from others because one is presumably more destructive, when the addiction is there regardless. There's no real focus on getting alcoholics, crackheads, etc... addicted to something else less destructive, but just to throw around this idea that you're addicted and need to stop being addicted because that's bad.
Meanwhile if you take away somebody's phone they'll act like a deranged psychopath, but not an addict mind you, no of course not.
Shit, on days I have off I listen to music 14 out of the average 16 hours I'm awake, I'd be frustrated as hell if somebody tried to take it away from me. But I could see potential reason in dedicating some of those 14 hours to something else, which I do most days.
Gotta be addicted to multiple things.

Back when I was an acid dealer on Haight street in SF, me and my fake gang started a game called Ketamollicaine. The game was, you tried to get ketamine, molly, and cocaine all at the same time. If you won, you had to mix them all together and then walk around giving bumps of it out to all the other hippies.
This shit caught on so hard that like a decade later, I ran into a dude that I knew from the time - who previously wanted to kill me - a state over in Oregon. And he just hugged me and said "Anon!!! I just showed someone the Ketamollicaine game!!!"
Shit will frick you up THOUGH. I was in a ketamollicaine hole in my buddy's RV one time, dude comes in and asks me if I'm okay. I came out of it for just long enough to say "YEAH I'M TALKING ABOUT TECHNO" and then went back in the hole. I don't remember it happening.

      Anonymous

Weird larp. The onset of coke and ketamine is very short and after about an hour the effects of both have worn off which is when the molly begins to kick in, so mixing in the molly doesn't really do anything

        Anonymous

Not even a larp and it's a really fun high. You should try it.
Also, you're wrong. If you snort all 3 at once, you're gonna get high, buddy. Who gives a shit where the coke ends and the molly begins. If you're doing the good stuff, there is definitely an overlap. If you wanna cool guy mode it, you get 4-fluorococaine, which lasts for like 8 hours. But that's strictly expert mode

when i was in high school back from 2008-2012, during the height of pharmaceutical over-prescription in the us, especially in rich neighborhoods like i grew up in, we literally used to do the thing where everyone would steal pills from their parents and put them in a jar and you would just grab a handful and rip them lmao
there was a kid who always did it and he called it 'getting squirrely'
i can literally name like a half dozen kids from those parties who are now dead or in jail lmfao shit was crazy

shockingly her death was not attributed to drugs or alcohol. She was just that crazy.

      >On December 6, 2022, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner announced the results of Heche's autopsy, stating that she was not impaired by illicit substances at the time of the incident and that no active drugs were found in her system. An inactive metabolite of cocaine was found through a blood test taken when Heche arrived at the hospital, which the coroner's office said indicates the drug was used in the past, but not at the time of the crash.

In any case, she was trapped in a burning (re. oxygen-deprived) car for over an hour before firefighters finally freed her. Oxygen deprivation causes permanent brain damage within five minutes and is almost always fatal after ten so there was basically no hope of her surviving.

      >California sober" or only prescription drugs and weed
I am truly convinced that this mindset of scripts (INCLUDING antidepressants) and weed not being 'real drugs' is what often gets ex-drug addicts to relapse and/or an hero and/or die
if you toasted or awashed your brain in drugs / alcohol for decades if you want to come out of that and become 'normal', you need to basically abstain from every substance forever lol
thats how these guys like bourdain and cornell and now perry get themselves in trouble
it really sucks but basically as far as i can tell its the way the brain works. you had too much of a good thing for your lifetime and you can't continue doing the 'happy chemicals' thing because it will make you relapse or it will make your brain very sad that it can't do the favorite drug anymore and you'll get depressed and have a nice day or do something dumb
in other words, should have gone for a run and played vidya matt sorry

also i have no idea how ssri antidepressants work but everyone who takes them who used to be an addict eventually kills thyself, so riddle me that idk lol

idk why its so hard for ex-addicts to realize that they're probably gonna feel kinda bad sometimes or have a lower happiness baseline than normal people who didn't consume a liter of vodka and 120mg of oxy and a pack of cigs every day for 10 years lmfao

Dude I ten thousand percent agree with this and actually think weed is hugely underrated as a drug that fricks up your psychology over long periods of time. Like no one smokes too much weed and kills themself, but I think it can produce really dark moods and bad patterns of thought. Especially among addicts who are probably smoking tons of weed to cope with the lack taking the drug they actually got addicted to.

Yeah, you didn't overdose in a hot tub full of diarrhea

Shut up junkie, it's your own damn fault. What, you didn't know heroin was bad for you?

this is evidenced by the fact that their lives would not be terrible if they weren't drug addicts.

Indeed, if they were able to cope with the nature of their lives, they would not have had to resort to seeking comfort in something as destructive as drug abuse. It’s pretty easy for someone with no idea what they are dealing with to look down on them with such shallow judgement.

Black person i did between 120 and 210 mg of amphetamines and smoked 2 packs of cigs every day for multiple years and then when I didn't want to do them anymore so I could grow up and get a job and make something of my life I simply stopped doing them
Yeah it was hard and annoying for about 2 weeks for the acute physical withdrawals and then after that I was 100% fine.
And no I'm not a le 'recovering addict' or 'le always will be an addict' who lives in terrified fear but also romantic fascination with cigs or with speed or with drugs. I just simply choose not to do them and it's fine
Now every time I see a heroin junkie whine or a smoker complain about the withdrawals I want to smack them upside the head. It's literally all in your head. You can literally focus away the problem. You just want to keep doing it because you're a gay, and so you think about it all the time. That creates anxiety which is like 99.99999999% of withdrawal and addiction.

Anyone who chooses not to simply quit is therefore a pleasure seeker who doesn't care about how it harms themselves and their family and their friends and their community and society.

                It REALLY is that simple.

Oh haha exactly how I feel about women at 35.
                >aww man it feels really good and I can just go get some but it will frick my life up every time
I still smoke cigarettes though and I don't bum any out to dumb b***hes. And speed just makes me jack off for hours. Dumb drug unless you are trying not to black out on alcohol or have a whole day to frick a chick that is also on amphetamines

Speed is great for everything. By far the best drug if you can avoid taking stupid high doses.

                >terrible for sex
Can confirm. It’s great for jacking off but it’s definitely not good for sex in my experience. Might be good if it’s with someone who makes your wiener hard just by looking at them.

No, you just pop a boner pill. And it makes chicks into absolute freaks.

It is, but that's part of the allure. It's naughty and it might kill you, but you're gonna have the best meth sex with this stupid fricking broad ever, for like 2 days

The anon that recommended that combo is 100% a gay. Only thing missing was the poppers.

99.9% of us in here will die in some shitty way alone let alone chasing the dragon inside a jacuzzi. And no one will give a frick not one tweet.

Death is the great equalizer. From celebrities to homeless schizos, a dead person is a dead person is a dead person.

It's always so weird reading threads about drugs or alcohol on Cinemaphile. The concept of moderation seems alien to like half the people here. No, not every wine drinker is an alcoholic. No, not every weed smoker is a pothead. No, not every mushroom eater is a hippie.

I know a few people who use their drug of choice more than once a week, but like 90% of the alcohol/drug users do it a couple of times a month or on special occasions to amplify the fun they're having

a lot of shut-ins who have no real world experience and base everything off of tv and movies. in their minds every drug user is a homeless addict sucking wiener for their next hit when in reality most alcohol and drug users are just ordinary responsible people, with the exception of super addictive substances like heroin and meth

I drink alcohol, a very harmful drug, about once a month when I go out with some friends. Am I a functioning addict?

It no, why do you treat alcohol any differentely when it’s both more harmful and addictive on a per-user basis than the majority of illegal drugs with the exception of like 4 hard drugs? Legal does not mean good
