Literally Hulk tier shit. Same crap as with League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Russell Crowe, regardless of how pointless his role was, portrayed one of the best takes, as it was mostly mental transformation, which is how Jekyll and Hyde is supposed to be.
I hope we will get Crowe version in a standalone film as apparently Dark Universe is moving away from interconnected films to separate character based storied.
It has that Mummy feel, a B movie that tries to succeed on account of soul, but VH fails ultimately. This formula was perfected with the Hercules show starring Kevin Sorbo and has yet to be topped
It falls apart the moment he gets attacked by the vamp sisters
It has no idea what the fuck it wants to do and just shits all over everything it adapts
Best Frankenstein ever, even nailed his gentle, tortured soul and reclusive nature. Also the whole Frankenstein & Dracula & Werewolf theme is a perfect epic serious take on abbot & Costello meet Frankenstein. That movie also has Dracula &Wolfman in similar roles (Dracula wants to experiment with Frankenstein to make progeny while Wolfman stops him)
I liked the beginning with Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde and the incomplete Eiffel tower. It's what a successful version of the Dark Universe shit would look like.

This. I don't know why he got so much hate. Steals the show from the begining. Perfect classy doctor, british gentleman style. They should've started Dark Universe with Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde movie instead of that goddamn Mummy.
Incredible how this is considered a bad movie with that cast and all the work they put behind it,,meanwhile you got memebius and memevatar and generic capeshit selling trillions. It still won in my heart and the PS2 game was great,in fact everything is related to Van Helsing, Dracula and Franstein is great and works
Classic adventure/"horror" movie. Gets a little muddled in the last act, but it's very entertaining, great casting, acting, production design, pacing. A fun popcorn movie with great scenes, name a better movie of this kind in the last 10-15 years
your dad has great taste
too bad he raised a little queer

>even universal producers hate this film
probably something went really, really, really bad
They have bad blood with the director, that's why he hasn't worked on movies for so long, he's been silently blacklisted.
compared to big budget movies of today? It was an absolute kino.
also mariuska

It would be fucking kino if it had no werewolves
It's okay, the "you're an ancient warrior who has lost his memories" is apparently something the director was obsessed with at the time lol
it feels more like a parody of film that was never made

It's the best game and anime adaptation that isn't based on a game nor anime. It's just is, without knowing.
How did they pulled it?
Still has the best werewolf
Those female vampires were hot ngl
it's a solid 6/10 shlock
It has some great production design

Umm no retard, the best portrayal is when Van Helsing is chasing him around the Notre Dame and killing him with a grapple gun

Hulk is just a modern version of Jakyll and Hyde. Profesor guy experiments on himself and makes an "evil" alter ego
a cute
Kate Beckinsale's ass, Hammy Dracula, and cameos galore

morbius? that shit flopped twice
Shitty Vampire D rip off with one of the worst Dracula performances

Not a better movie, but I think that Hansel and Gretel movie was the closest we got to another Van Helsing.

can't wait for the sequel where jeremy has to find his lost penis
i might check that out
My dad says this is a great movie
He also thinks Spider-Man 3 dancing scene is one of the greatest in all of cinema
your dad has great taste
too bad he raised a little queer
fury road is the closest since it's not horror
