By today's standards its one of the better Batman flicks. Definitely a comfy watch, but back then compared to the previous 2 films it was steaming rat turd of a movie.

Totally agree. He and others like Russel Crowe have nothing to prove to anyone. They've done it all, so might as well enjoy all the simple pleasures in life that they have left. They've embraced the chad weight gain.
I don't understand people like Harrison Ford. He pretends he's above acting and has a disdain for some of his most well known characters (Han Solo) but keeps turning up for the paycheck into his 80s. Surely he has enough after a lifetime of being one of Hollywood's most famous leading men.
Clint Eastwood also. These men must have terrible home lives to want to go out there and live in a movie set when they should be enjoying everything they've built in retirement.

Burton left the project early because the studio wanted it to sell more toys.
Schumacher said he tried to sneak less campy stuff, but the studio edited around him, making it more schlocky than anyone involved wanted it to be.
It has glimpses of a good film and is enjoyable enough, but isn't very cohesive.

It was made after the dark and more gothic story of Batman returns got criticism from parents that it was "ToO ScArY", This is perfectly encapsulated in the character of Two-face in forever in which he is more reminiscent of a Joker knock rather than his own character with conflicting personalities

No, the biggest problem is Jones and Carrey both seem to have misunderstood and think they've been cast as the Joker and also Jones got a stick up his ass and was trying to compete with Carrey on being the most zany even though Carrey was the most zany comic actor in the world at the time.
