It's time we talk about Forest Gump

The villain of Forest Gump! She was fricking evil man. She took advantage of his love for her and dumped her baby on him after she infected herself with toxic dick or smack. What a prostitute. She's the worst "well-portrayed" character in film. I fricking hate her.

The idea of a biological woman getting HIV was so unrealistic to me that it took me out of the movie the first time I watched it

sharing needles. she was obviously getting dicked, but not by the gays. she was a junkie prostitute. and the film celebrated this. disgusting.

Sure, but also a valid reason a lot of people got AIDS in the 90s. It's just as plausible that a gay man was part of a train ran on her, if you'd rather imagine that, but my point doesn't change. She's an evil villain who took advantage of Forest.

Can you guys stop talking about homosexuals and discuss how fricking terrible Jenny was? thanks.

Hanks and Helen Hunt in Castaway was true love. Forest was a disabled man who got taken advantage of by a capable woman. In her dorm room she raped him. He couldn't consent and by the rules of today's universe we all know it.

I don't think I've ever seen a woman more negatively and realistically portrayed than Jenny

Movies based on books frequently diverge. The movie simply doesn't say what the disease is beyond something new.

That must mean Bubba was trans in the movie since they never actually said he wasn't and we have to assume the movie diverges from the book where he wasn't trans.

Everyone seems to be ignorant, that she has been sexually violated by her father.
its astonishing to me, that this flies over everyones head.
It takes some real c**t to ignore her insurmountable detachement she exposes, her suicide contemplation, her loss of self-worth, her ability to trust and love has been taken from her, so much that she feels to be too good for good ol' pure gump. He is not properly able to give her peace of mind and understand that situation. And she returns to him, not because he has money, but because he was the only constant in her life and the only man who didnt hurt her.

whoever sees jenny as the villain, is not a proper man, who can see her character in totality ,who is not ignoring the damage men are doing onto women. And if they are so blatantly ignorant about these aspects, neither they will see it in a real woman.
to me, jenny is prime filter for men i dont want in my life.

She's a product of her environment. Personally I see her and Forrest as story devices. Jenny and Gump were supposed to represent the bad and good times of the 50s.

    >She was fricking evil man. She took advantage of his love
I used to think so but was she really? Sure, she did a lot to ruin her own life (yes I know she had a shitty childhood) but Forrest was the one who kept running after her again and again whenever she left him behind to do drugs and sex. He couldn't stop simping for her, the man had a terminal case of oneitis. Had he let go of his obsession, she probably would have jumped from the balcony instead of backing down during the scene where she was high as a kite.
She and Forrest deserved each others because they were both moronic.

No he didn't, they just kept coincidentally running into each other until she came back to his childhood home to live with him, then abandoned him, then summoned him to her apartment one day to admit she had been withholding his child from him all those years.
