He always picked the worst fricking shit.
Aside from The Man From UNCLE, Mission Impossible and Immortals, he hasn't starred in anything worth watching.
If Cavill had a good agent, he could have gotten the Amazon's Reacher series instead of Netflix's Witcher.
Hell, he could have been the next James Bond.
Absolutely wasted. I hope for his sake the Warhammer show works for him.

For all the hype surrounding him you'd think he'd pick a decent project. This is movie star 101. Man From Uncle should have been kino and the start of a great franchise.
The problem isn't really "Cavill the movie star", he just doesn't fricking know how to pick roles. Being a movie star is like the stock market. You do good moves, be it being in a good movie or rubbing elbows with the right people, your stock goes up. You do shitty movies and the people in the right places have bad opinions of you, your stock goes down. He's a good actor who keeps appearing in dumb shit because he's a dumb fricking nerd.
For all the hype surrounding him you'd think he'd pick a decent project. This is movie star 101. Man From Uncle should have been kino and the start of a great franchise.

Hollywood wants actors who say yes. It's why they can't wait to replace them all with AI actors who will never turn down a role. The Rock is the human version of an obedient AI.
Its fraud. Project was sold as cinematic spy comedy universe.
Everyone with two braincells knows no other movies related to this will be made. Becouse in no world will this movie make enough money to justifie that. Even if budget was 50 million.
This is just about cashing out
It's basically Hollywood defrauding Apple/Amazon out of money for putting traditional studios out of business. A movie like this would have had less than $50M budget ~10 years ago.
But it's Apple's money so who cares. They literally make more than $350B in a year. They don't care if they lose a few hundred million on a movie.
That's how much apple bought the film for after it was already made, but it was produced for 80 or 90 million, which is still alot for a movie mainly starring Sam Rockwell and Bryce Howard, who aren't really know for putting asses in seats.
these celeb spy action comedies are made by streaming services with no way to really tell the budget. they just put out a fake number same as the viewership
Yeah sometimes kino actors or actresses just get shit luck and end up in crappy production and become labeled as box office poison. Sofia Boutella is another one, and it hurts me because I want to rape her and have a million offsprings with her.
No, you fricking morons. It proves the opposite. All the attention this movie got was due to him and when people caught wind of the fact he was a cameo at best through their phones they didn't go and watch it.
He has two Ritchie slop movies that always turn a profit to turn things around and Highlander which could be a big massive dark horse. It ain't over yet.
This is definitely lesson learned though. He'll probably go and beg Barbara Broccoli for the Bond role and considering no one wants to do it and their current frontrunner is hesitant and blueballing them, they might just go with Cavill.
Let's hope John Wick director-man doesn't turn in a dud for the Highlander flick, that one could go either way depending on the angle he'll go with it.
His reputation is that he looks like a comic book character brought to life, not LE GOOD ACTOR which what even is that in today's times? he's a big blockbuster actor and Highlander is his last chance to solidify a legacy.
This. People think movies starring Cavill are bad because of Cavill? What about script, director, shared universe, overall plot, etc etc.
He killed it in The Man From Uncle. He was great in MI Fallout as well. Even though I think he was miscast as Geralt, I eventually came to like him and he was easily the best part of that shit heap of a show. And the first hour or so of Man of Steel when he was Clark and learning where he came from was great, Snyder and DCEU wasted his casting.
Vaughn and Ritchie just do the same shit all the time and its not interesting anymore. I was interested in Argyle when I thought it was going to be a somewhat serious spy movie, I don't want to see a movie with ADHD fight scenes and CGI cats.
He's only in it for like 5 minutes. It's about the author and the cat. He can barely be considered a cameo in it, but they are using his picture all the time, why not use the CG cat?
The problem isn't really "Cavill the movie star", he just doesn't fricking know how to pick roles. Being a movie star is like the stock market. You do good moves, be it being in a good movie or rubbing elbows with the right people, your stock goes up. You do shitty movies and the people in the right places have bad opinions of you, your stock goes down. He's a good actor who keeps appearing in dumb shit because he's a dumb fricking nerd.
I fricking new basic b***hes on twitter would try to pin this on Cavill when he's not even in the movie. They resent his perfection, he's the male Sydney Sweeney.
>40 years old >only just now getting the projects he likes (Warhammer) >will likely be around 50 before he can get his magnum opus >by that point he will no longer be Hollywood's handsome chad and will just be some nerd
>by that point he will no longer be Hollywood's handsome chad and will just be some nerd
Lots of people in Hollywood look great even at 50, Here's Jared Leto as an example.
A strange take for a movie with an ensemble cast (including Sam L Jackson) that is actually about a female novelist in the leas role? I'm guessing he must be a seething lefty bigot who hates white men?
>I've never heard one of her songs or know anybody who's heard of them
Unless you routinely listen to the radio and spend a lot of time with females 15-35 I wouldn't expect you to have.
>we need well known names who will do any old slop for a payday and give the appearance of star appeal >sir theyre already on the set saying "IM ACTING"
I know it sounds moronic but I feel like whenever I hear others talk about Taylor swift, it’s like this massive glitch in the simulation. She is the most plain Jane literally do not care pop star that I don’t think I’ve ever heard speak in a sentence, yet I’m hearing about her like she’s some some Trump like figure. It’s like the most average milquetoast celebrity while simultaneously being this world dominating figure. I don’t get it
Lmao these homosexuals are really blaming it on cavil? Is he even a main character, more so than the others?
This shit flipped because the plot was fricking gay and moronic.
>Vaughn said the COVID-19 pandemic gave him the time to work on the film. He describes it as his ode to 1980s action thrillers like Die Hard and Lethal Weapon. When asked about casting Cavill, he said: "I needed someone who was born to play Bond — which Henry is — and then nick him before Bond did. He plays a larger-than-life action hero with a wink. It's very different from Kingsman."
Cavill was never a star. This looks worse on Dua Lipa since it was hyped up that she was this huge pop sensation then none of her fanbase came. Her career is over. Cavill has been doing shit like the cheap witcher show and starting in spy flops for a while. He will bounce back but she's done.
They say that as if it would have been a success with Chris Evans as the lead. This movie was going to flop no matter who was the lead, none of the trailers made it look even mildly interesting.
You guys are saying this when he is nothing more than a cameo. Instead you've Sam Rockwell for most of the movie. If anything, Rockwell should be the one worried about this movie bombing.
It's always weird that people blame Henry Cavill for this type of shit when he is on screen for less than two minutes. Same thing with Black Adam. The movie was headlined by The Rock but everyone wanted to shit on Cavill for that movie bombing, despite him just showing up for a sec in the post-credits.
>It's always weird that people blame Henry Cavill
The point is not that Cavil caused the movie to fail, but that he has barely any successful movie he stared in.
If you want to be a block buster star, you need to show some success.
But Henry Cavill hasn't headline a movie in a long time.
The last time was Man of Steel. That's how long. Then there's that under the radar Bruce Willis movie. Everything else is nothing but supporting role and cameos.
I think the criticism is something like "if he were such a big movie star, then he would have saved this movie from flopping" but I think it's a faulty premise, I think there are some movies that can't be saved by any star.
>Rockwell should be the one worried about this movie bombing.
He doesn't need to worry about that, he has so much kino on his resume that there's pretty much nothing he can do that would create a dent to his credibility.
movies bomb from people choosing not to see it which is based on what they see outside the movie, not in it. most people think this is a movie about cavill dancing with lisa dupa

also forgot to mention that the movie is 2 hours and 20 minutes long which is an utterly insane length for a new franchise's first film and a big commitment for most people (especially coupled with all the bad reviews since even people who enjoy shitty movies ironically wont like wasting 2 and a half hours on slop)

Man fron Uncle was derivative slop of the highest order. Just like it's source material in the 70s.
That was during Armie Hammer's run of underwhelming IP. Anything with him looked like vacuous slop. Although MCU was sucking the air out of the room

Lots of people in Hollywood look great even at 50, Here's Jared Leto as an example.
Leto is draining his cults vitality to maintain his appearance. This isn't achievable natty.
Just say he drinks cum anon, we all know that drinking cum is the secret to staying young forever.
if that was the case, pornstars wouldn't become bogged as hell in their mid 30s
You merely underestimate the quantities you need to drink. Half a gallon a day minimum.

It’s not henry’s fault this movie bombed it’s the studios fault for green lighting AWFUL PROJECTS
Do movie "stars" still exist? Even Mission Impossible underperformed. Unless youre Taylor Swift no one's coming to your show based on name.
Taylor Swift is a massive psyop.
i love how this word has been basically added to normie vocabulary
is psyop a psyop ?
This is what magatards actually believe.
why does that trigger you?
How else would you describe it? She seems like a fricking alien creature. I've never heard one of her songs or know anybody who's heard of them.

Odd blank space above sam Jackson
>$200m budget

bad marketing. Too much focus on Ultraman and Dua Lipa when they should've been focusing on the redhead and Sam Rockwell. Who both have star power.
Should've been a 2 hour farting marathon starring Bryce
He just isn't a charismatic guy, everything he does seems forced and fake
You could say being Superman killed his career, maybe if he was a charismatic Superman it would've been fine
I agree. He seriously is a charisma vacuum and his looks are overrated. He's a 6.5/10 at best and has a long head and a receding hairline.
He has a killer body and a gloriously hairy chest.

Leaving the Witcher was the most moronic decision he's ever made. He lost the Superman role right after that and it's been downhill ever since.

Or Margot Robbie. Bomb after bomb after bomb. Barbie would've made 1 billion with or without her.
