I'm only 14 episodes in to the anime but Zoro does not really come off like a drunk and only got sleepy when he's weak and needs to rest. Otherwise he has been pretty laid back and goes full edgy swordsman mode when he's fighting or has to protect someone. Dude is like a Klingon he's the coolest dude in the world until its time to start killing everyone in the general area. Also he seems fairly directionless until Luffy came by and was like follow me and he was like I'm not doing anything better. Also this Captain Kuro plot is so fricking repetitive it should have been four or five episodes good twist but man it feels like the show is already dragging.
Sometimes he plays him too aloof. His opening scene where he killed that guy I feel like that was the closest to early Zoro. Since he had a playful arrogance then and it wasn't all super serious.

I'm 2 episodes in and so far I kind of like it. It's a bit goofy but if you've seen One Piece it's also goofy. Pretty solid adaptation though it may fall flat for people that haven't seen the source material and may find it too odd.
It's high effort production that captures a similar tone to the anime while being different enough to be it's own thing. Only real complaint I have so far is some of the acting is mid.

There's definitely a difference. Tv/cinema is spectacle. It's why all sorts of trash can be adapted to the screen much more successfully. Reading is another matter entirely.
I like it. Clearly they're changing the story a bit, giving more attention to Koby and Garp, but I'm down for that. I never wanted a direct 1-1 copy of the anime, there'd be no point. I feel the actors for the straw-hat crew are doing alright, and I'm enjoying the fight scenes. Luffy's fight scenes are acceptable, they clearly worked to choreograph Zoro's sword fights to make his three sword style look cool and I appreciate it. Only watched the first three episodes with my buddies though.

I'm only 14 episodes in to the anime but Zoro does not really come off like a drunk and only got sleepy when he's weak and needs to rest. Otherwise he has been pretty laid back and goes full edgy swordsman mode when he's fighting or has to protect someone. Dude is like a Klingon he's the coolest dude in the world until its time to start killing everyone in the general area. Also he seems fairly directionless until Luffy came by and was like follow me and he was like I'm not doing anything better. Also this Captain Kuro plot is so fricking repetitive it should have been four or five episodes good twist but man it feels like the show is already dragging.
Sometimes he plays him too aloof. His opening scene where he killed that guy I feel like that was the closest to early Zoro. Since he had a playful arrogance then and it wasn't all super serious.
That's pretty much it, he's playfully arrogant but this guy turned Zoro into an edgelord

I'm 2 episodes in and so far I kind of like it. It's a bit goofy but if you've seen One Piece it's also goofy. Pretty solid adaptation though it may fall flat for people that haven't seen the source material and may find it too odd.

i have watched it for a couple of hours now and can with great certainty tell you that the netflix adaptation is the definitive One Piece experience
I like it. Clearly they're changing the story a bit, giving more attention to Koby and Garp, but I'm down for that. I never wanted a direct 1-1 copy of the anime, there'd be no point. I feel the actors for the straw-hat crew are doing alright, and I'm enjoying the fight scenes. Luffy's fight scenes are acceptable, they clearly worked to choreograph Zoro's sword fights to make his three sword style look cool and I appreciate it. Only watched the first three episodes with my buddies though.

Just marathoned the first ep. It's freaking mediocre. The writings felt mid just like any other live action slops. Conversations dont flow naturally. So many scenes felt dull and uninteresting.
