how the frick did the guy who made this and The Machinist then made fricking Vanishing on 7th Street, the shitty kidnapping movie with Halle Berry and Fracture which was basically a Session 9 remake but fricking atrocious.

homosexuals tend to project homosexual shit when it isn't there. They think anything masculine or representative of the male form is automatically homoerotic. For example, they're Godless so they're filtered by the fact religious ecstasy is usually concurrent to sexualized imagery without connoting the idea of overt sexualization on the level of cooming.
It's definitely better than the original. It was trendy at the time to shit on Paris Hilton but she's a competent actor.
I kinda wanted to frick paris hilton when I watched this as a kid. She was still kinda hot back then. Since then my tastes have changed DRASTICALLY.
Everybody hated paris cause she represented everything evil about Hollywood and bad influence on youth. She paved the way for Kim kardashian to come up and Kim is WAY worse than paris. And Kylie Jenner is even worse than kim.
There's always been kids of rich people. Vanderbilt wanted a 100% inheritance tax because he knew simply being the child of a millionaire set you up for life and the world didn't need more "worthless millionaires" and now we have e-celebs which is worse than anything that ever existed before. Paris Hilton never deserved the hate.
>paris never deserved the hate
I agree somewhat. I think its hypocritical though that society used to beat the shit out of her in the media and with the kardashians on the other hand they do the exact opposite, they bring them onto late night talk shows and shit, and even SNL. It's so fricking stupid.
She deserved some hate, because she was basically just a lesser version of Kim Kardashian and in a lot of ways she inspired kim to do what she became, which is make a brand of yourself out of doing absolutely nothing and just being a bawd bimbo, right down to the porno "leaking."
>paris never deserved the hate

Paris and Kim both got famous for sucking dick on camera. Paris gave the better performance, by far, but Kim got a better return on her blowjob. How is that at all fair?
I agree, people kept saying how the first one was a hidden gem after the second came out but rewatching it really is just a mediocre home invasion movie. 2 is campy but at least it's visually interesting and has some cool scenes like the pool scene and the guy getting horny for looking someone in the eyes when he died.
Check out the old miniseries form the 90s that used to be released during the May Sweeps period. The Stand (1994) is genuinely good. So is Storm of the Century and even Rose Red was pretty fun (if you haven't read superior shit it's kind of ripping off like The Haunting of Hill House or Hell House).

Dreamcatcher for sure
The original It miniseries
Silver Bullet
Car From Hell
That horror anthology he did with George Romero
Storm of the Century
I haven't seen these ones personally, but I've also had Kingdom Hospital, The Langoliers, and Tommyknockers recommended to me. Oh, and Salem's Lot

It's a good movie for several reasons: first it is an original take on the abduction story. Next it tells the story well enough that it is actually scary. Finally, it makes /x/gays absolutely seethe, beyond the ability to either cope or dilate, because "they're doing it wrong". It's kino, pure weaponized kino.

Underrated or not, here’s my list of horror movies I enjoy. >Alien >Aliens >American Psycho >Abominable >Jacob’s Ladder >First Saw and Saw II >Hellraiser 1&2 >Pumpkinhead >Jaws >Return of the Living Dead 1, 2 & 3 >Day if the Dead >Night of the Creeps >C.H.U.D. >Exist >4th Kind >Prometheus >The Void >Last Shift >The Thing >Reanimator >From Beyond >Castle Freak >Pandorum >The Blob (80s remake) >Event Horizon >Monster Squad >Feast (not the second or third)
Basically, I like campy movies, monster movies, space horror movies, and movies with a love craftian touch. Arthouse horror movies are boring or pretentious feeling. I couldn’t stand “It comes at night” or “Hereditary”. The “VVitch” was actually decent, so I’ll give them that.
>Underrated or not
Yeah. Almost every single one of those is pretty mainstream and basic. Most horror fans would have seen them by around 14. Do better, please.
Let me guess, you’re so advanced in your horror movie taste. I’ve watched countless horror movies, I’m just telling you what I enjoyed the most. It might not be up to your gates keeping standards, but it’s what I like.

The actually good movie about darkness. It is one of the few horror movies where the protags aren't complete morons and actually make good decisions. It makes it much more entertaining and engaging to watch.
The Dark and the Wicked. I'm typically not a fan of devil oriented movies but this was really good and creepy. Sound design was great too and I would recommend watching with headphones.
Night House. Very eerie movie primarily dealing with death and grief. Had some really cool ideas and camera work. I loved the way they showed the entity with objects lining precisely up and just at the right angles. Very neat.
>look up good recent horror movies made in the past year to watch with gf >everyone recommends these two weird sounding french films nobody has heard of >sure why not >girlfriend now thinks i'm a weirdo
thanks guys
i really enjoyed hellraiser inferno, it gets a lot of shit for not being 1 or 2 and straight to video and all, but the scene where the female cenobites fondle his internal organs was one of the best moments of actually showing the pain/pleasure thing, and it had the most cohesive and interesting actual plot and character
Nah, everything after Bloodlines was shit. Anything not involving Barker was automatically going to be shit, because he's the only one who really understands his own series.
I can't fricking stand Jennifer Lopez. I've always hated her, never once fapped to her, would refuse any sexual activity from her, and wouldn't even piss on her if she was on fire. And mind you this was before I even learned about what a total c**t she is irl like getting any staff fired for making eye contact with her and shit like that.
A lot of people hate this movie, but there is a lot that is great about it. The costume, chases, stalks, music, cinematography, characters and violence is all good. The only thing that is bad about it is the unnecessary lore additions and ending confrontation is a bit lame.
This film is really only decent by overal found footage standarts. It's entertaining and has some creepy moments but like most found footage films it goes way overblown at a certain point.
The first Children of the Corn. It falls apart in the third act as its just too low budget to pull off the concepts it goes for but I like the atmosphere of the first two thirds.
That kids face ruins the series, I congratulate anyone for getting through an episode of the kids annoying face. Doesn't help that the director likes to use close ups.
The Haunting got an unbelievable amount of shit thrown at it and has a 5/10 on imdb which is way too harsh, I've seen horror movies with high 6s on imdb that are inferior to it.
You can tell it was made at a time when CGI was new and exciting, they put it to fun use and there are actually genuinely cool visuals in the film that might not have aged perfectly, but if you're an oldgay you'll probably feel nostalgia over the cgi.
It's not amazing but I like it, its definitely better than people give it credit for.
Can anybody help me find this movie that came out in the past decade about a guy who believes shape shifting aliens live among us but his friend doesn't believe him.
Errementari is a fricking blast. Actually soulful, it is funny and emotional when it needs to be and doesn't take itself too seriously. Also, Sartael is my homie and I would absolutely pay to watch a spin off about what other shit he gets caught on.
Really love this film. JLO is absolutely trash and wish it had a different lead
jlo is hot tho
where have you guys been? nobody on tv will ever talk about the cell... incredible that the director got relegated to music videos
when she enters stargher's mind for the first time and we get the strange view of his baptism... all i could think of was true detective
The Fall is even better but it was a huge flop.
Well it feels like a music video. Or at least how they were in the 90s and early 2000s.
She's great I don't know what you're talking about. She wasn't trying to be anything special so she fit the role well.
It really makes you think.
/misc/ told me that was porn, not horror. They seem to love having a good wank to it.

Maybe just a bit underrated.
good movie
it had a straight to dvd sequel that was bad
This is the best horror movie you've never seen, trust me anons.
I think heavily underrated, it maintains suspense really well with twists and turns, and it explores the environment to its absolute maximum.
Watched the uncut version on israeliteTube last week. Very nice visuals, but Lopez stunk.
great movie despite having her as the lead
The dream sequences inside the villans mind still blow me away to this day. Great fantastical design.
nostalgia critic is such a homosexual it's unreal
Based.
Was this a King in Yellow reference that we never realized until now?
It’s based visually a lot of the artist Odd Nerdrum
I always thought he looked like Cell
She must like Quake a lot.
Dumb movie but has some cool scenes that make it worth watching like the horse, I'll throw in identity
I feel like no one ever mentions Don't be afraid of the dark. Those gremlin Frickers were spooky
Tarsem Singh is underrated tbhfam
The trailer for The Fall alone has more artistic merit than most shit made for the last ten years
Kino
Absolutely outstanding film, any horror fan should watch it at least once
One of the greatest ever
The ending fricked me up bad
so so very good and atmospheric that the mediocre acting just falls away
this one is a cult classic not underrated tho

This is a guilty pleasure of mine. I love “teen horror” but most are shit.
I expected something much better coming from Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson
I wouldn't call this movie kino, but it is definitely comfy. Love anything with Micheal Rosenbaum in it
The City of the Dead (aka Horror Hotel)
i prefer its sequel, prostitute(er) hotel
Remind you of Psycho?
Bug by William Friedkin it's more of a psychological thriller but it's horror enough
The costumes here is fricking gorgeous. Apparently, made by some master designer from Japan or someone like that.
Genuinely unnerved me
Very good
gonna check this out. Also like /k/ movies and psychological thrillers. so this scratches an itch for me.
First and only time I ever had to turn on the English subs for a bong film. Had absolutely no idea what was being said half the time.
It leaves too much unexplained
This is old (1970s), but it's more of a thinking man's haunted house movie. Killer soundtrack, too.
Based. Pam Franklin is a babe too
indeed. In the modern parlance, she is, cute
does she show her fat ass in it?
Unironically.
It's definitely better than the original. It was trendy at the time to shit on Paris Hilton but she's a competent actor.
how could one not approve
There should have been at least one rape scene or she got fondled or something.
I kinda wanted to frick paris hilton when I watched this as a kid. She was still kinda hot back then. Since then my tastes have changed DRASTICALLY.

A C C E L E R A T E

Paris and Kim both got famous for sucking dick on camera. Paris gave the better performance, by far, but Kim got a better return on her blowjob. How is that at all fair?
the ending makes the movie.
hell house llc. some decent spooks throughout all 3 movies, but the movies themselves get so bad as they go on
first is legit great. 2 and 3 are mostly moronic.
Leprechaun 3 and In Space. Warwick Davis and Yuzna made them watchable.
Amazing visuals.
Full Moon Features:
Subspecies 2&3
Puppet Master 2&3
Castle Freak
The Pit and The Pendulum
Much better than the 1st one (which is essentially a Ils/Them rip-off), particularly because of the kino nocturnal on location cinematography
>which is essentially a Ils/Them rip-off
the frick did he mean by this
Did you watch Ils/Them? If you haven't do it, it's an excellent movie and then you'll understand-- I hope.
It’s shit though?
It's better than The Strangers
The two are nothing alike.
Only in the sense that The Strangers is mediocre and derivative and Ils is an excellent movie
I agree, people kept saying how the first one was a hidden gem after the second came out but rewatching it really is just a mediocre home invasion movie. 2 is campy but at least it's visually interesting and has some cool scenes like the pool scene and the guy getting horny for looking someone in the eyes when he died.
Christina Hendricks was also pretty good in it as the hesitant mother
everything in that sentence makes me hard
These movies are very underappreciated whereas Saw at least seemed to have some shrinking mainstream appeal Hostel always floated under the radar.
The entire Hostel series is trash
Nah you are
cop some taste homosexual
Only 2 was good because of female nudity. The only good thing from 1 was the chinese girl getting her eye torched.
great pg13 horror with lots of creative scares, watch the director's cut for the best ending
Would be improved if it was literally any actor other than John Cusack
i thought he did a good job nailing the smug butthole writer
Yeah he played a redditor perfectly
I remembered this as a Nic Cage film and now I'm just butt blasted it was actually Jon Cusack

That is probably the most highly acclaimed giallo ever. Maybe know what the thread is for before telling us what it needs.

This and Occult which is a spiritual sequel are good. Maybe not underrated but I really like the style the director has.

The actually good movie about darkness. It is one of the few horror movies where the protags aren't complete morons and actually make good decisions. It makes it much more entertaining and engaging to watch.

I also loved Dead Silence.

I have a strong affinity for the bizarro non-CGI jittery flashy horror effects of monsters in this era
its such an odd movie where the concept itself is mediocre but the excellent visual design carries the movie to respectability.
A lot of people hate this movie, but there is a lot that is great about it. The costume, chases, stalks, music, cinematography, characters and violence is all good. The only thing that is bad about it is the unnecessary lore additions and ending confrontation is a bit lame.
No, its a cringy two-hour music video, and it sucks.
Already posted AND not underrated.
One of my favorites.
this was recommended to me on YouTube randomly for some reason
I thought it was kinda dull idk, funny ending tho
I wanna poke Jennifer Lopez in her weird liquorice suit.
Wow, Roger Ebert, Roger Ebert AND the Movies all endorse this film? Must be pretty good!
Messiah of Evil is great
yeap. i liked the dreamlike atmosphere
Pretty funny

The Ending twist ruins the movie though. Up until then it's a nice anthology of strange going ons.

That kids face ruins the series, I congratulate anyone for getting through an episode of the kids annoying face. Doesn't help that the director likes to use close ups.

Agreed. Great movie with a great atmosphere and setting that gets shit on because it might have 1 or 2 goofy moments memed by internet morons
Genuinely great, the dialogue is genuinely hilarious, whoever wrote it did a great job

I love the house in this it's such a great set
This movie is a lot better if you pretend this whole thing was just a convoluted lost episode of MONK.

I love this movie. Feels very resident evil-esque
A Dark Song.
Great movie about mysticism. There aren't that many movies that even go roughly into that direction.
LE ANGEL APPPEARS and the redditor ruin a good premise
Maybe my all time favorite depiction of demons in film.

Can anybody help me find this movie that came out in the past decade about a guy who believes shape shifting aliens live among us but his friend doesn't believe him.
Still think its up there one of best slashers.
Don’t know if someone else posted this yet
It was actually a passion project from Bill Paxton who starred and directed it. And you can tell. Very good movie
kino
Errementari is a fricking blast. Actually soulful, it is funny and emotional when it needs to be and doesn't take itself too seriously. Also, Sartael is my homie and I would absolutely pay to watch a spin off about what other shit he gets caught on.
