I feel Crossed is more moronic than edgy. Like an clown that tries to tell edgy jokes but is completely unfunny and just ends up being kinda gross rather than entirely edgy.
It feels like its definitely degraded from having somewhat of a story with a focus on survival, like a more fricked up Walking Dead to "Lets see what limits we can push"
I remember reading a comic at a Mckays where this dude is a mega pure and famous pastor and his girl is a mother Teresa like figure, everything is happy for them. Then he finds out she was sleeping with almost every single person on her humanitarian aid mission in africa and is murdered. So then he gets all The lord is my sword edgy to find out who killed her. Can't remember the name but the cover is the main character sitting on a tongue.
Yeah. Alan Moore only wrote the first six issues, then Simon Spurrier took over and wrote the next six issues (supposedly based on notes that Moore left), then did a second series called "Crossed 100+: Mimic" that ran for 12 issues, and that was the end of 100.
A Walk Through Hell gets pretty edgy. It's about a pair of FBI agents and a case they worked on trying to identify and bring to justice a ring of child murderers. It's told in a semi-nonlinear fashion with some supernatural elements and quite a bit of fricked up shit happens.
Ehhhhh. I don't know, Ennis is a gamble. Sometimes he writes kino like Caliban, but other times its cheap garbage that tries to force an out of place message.
For sure and there's definitely some Current Year (for when it was printed) politics here and there that holds back the story but in total I thought it was pretty good.
It's also only 12 issues so the investment is not too bad.
Do you prefer to original ending, or the "Good" ending? I can sort of see the merit in both, To me it sort of comes down to whether one wants True Man's form to be a mystery, and if they want the other Brats redeemed.
Probably the original one, the "good" ending feels like it gives more closure, but the original feels more fitting to the rest of the comic IMO.
I do like the fact that True Man's form remains a mystery, I like the sort of ambiguity it gives. The other brats being redeemed really doesn't matter much to me, but I do prefer the original one where Chippy seems to be significantly less fricked up as the others, just to get his brain fried by Blasphemy.
But yeah, it probably mostly comes down to that.
But Is crossed more like a kind of inside joke for this niche?
Like, trying to make this shit like over the top edgy for not particular reason?
What I mean is that these are just a zombie apocalypse generic setting, but is there any interview with the writers who can explain why they made the zombies into like a super zombie virus that can make you a zombie with the shit from 28 days later speed.
But these are not normal nor dangerous zombies.
But the trope with zombies is that they're not smarter than a dog, so it's like they're not more dangerous than a pitbull I guess.
I just want to know why you made a zombie, but with the intelligence and memories of a normal human, but also with the morality and desires of a serial killer from a gore movie?
how did the nun gather an entire army of special forces dudes is beyond me
>simon spurrier
No thanks I don't like "I can't believe it's not Garth Ennis! Now humor-free!".
>Now humor-free
>4 years of nothing about new run
so does this means the story all concluded?
Avatar Press is dead, or very nearly so.
Sad.
I don't know if there is going to be another one like them that allows adult comics with sex, nudity, and all the fun stuff!
>Crossed never ever
>Ferals never ever
>Über never ever
I want my edge kino back!
Ferals is actually a god tier werewolf comic, it sucks that Avatar Press is bankrupt now.
for me it's family values
How fricking old is she suppose to be?
I think the implications was mid teens or something like that, probably in the 13-16 year old range.
The mom was really hot idk what the dad's problem was.

Crossed Badlands has a bunch of arcs but there your mileage might vary.
For me it's Supergod.
Funny enough and not too cringe.
Nice
Requiem Vampire Knight
now this is some genuine edge kino
the Hitler vengeance bomb was fricking hilarious as a concept
Did crossed 100 ever finish?
Yeah. Alan Moore only wrote the first six issues, then Simon Spurrier took over and wrote the next six issues (supposedly based on notes that Moore left), then did a second series called "Crossed 100+: Mimic" that ran for 12 issues, and that was the end of 100.
The homosexual Tortor episodes were good
Millar is like Ennis without the heart and soul
This. At least Ennis usually gives his characters some humanity, Millar is just pointlessly mean-spirited.
>this is my face when im fricking you in the ass
What are some other good edgy books?

They got a little silly.
>Edgekino
No such thing.
I enjoyed the hell out of this comic.
Especially with how insane it gets later on.
I love it, it’s edge in a more cartoony way. It’s one of the few comics I wish would get an animated series.
I'm not into the niche of crossed.

Who is the target market for this shit?
idk man i just think it's so wacky and over the top that it's fricking hilarious. a real laugh riot
