1. The characters have completely different personalities, backstories, and superpowers. I don't even think they were meant to be the same character, they just rolled with it once they realized the name was taken.
i've heard the term used for when they just shove the token girl in pink as lazy character design. jinx was the only girl in the hive five at first i believe.
She doesn't have a personality, she's never had an arc dedicated to her. Minor character. For importance, the Fearsome Five are Doctor Light > Psimon > Mammoth + Shimmer > Gizmo > Jinx
Cartoon Jinx is weird in that she takes basically nothing from comic Jinx other than the idea of being magic. She's more like comic Shimmer and they got idea of the hair color from Magneta's name, Wally's girlfriend in the 80s who became the split personality villain trope.
Atlas, the Cyborg villain from the Teen Titans cartoon
Billy Numerous and See-More are also imports from that show. I guess the writer decided 20 years was long enough to start doing some synergy to fill out the Cyborg villain's gallery
To be honest, is not that bad, pretty actually but doesn't look at all as old or "new" jynx.
But I feel is still inferior to her teen titans cartoon design. Is the most popular too, so I'm almost sure they didn't change her skin tone because being black was the most relevant part of her original design, funny too because if I remember right, wasn't she supposed to be Indian?
This isn't half bad actually. Honestly, I dig it. Nice balance and mix of elements. Wouldn't mind seeing more of this Jinx if she ever gets to show up. Or at least a nice clear shot for references.
They took the white and gold of the older design, added it to the violet of the newer design, and went with a magician costume without any ontology of what defines a magician costume. Considering the ponytail, this synthesis resembles human Twilight Sparkle. It's not an elegant synthesis, even if it is a competent design in isolation, because it only imports the pink hair color and violet fabric. The mantelet on the TT goth outfit was morphed into a dolman that you see in these Cyborg page scans. I suspect the artist wasn't aware just how much abstraction had already occured with the TT goth design to not realize what kind of dress Jinx was supposed to have started with in the TT concept. So the artist somewhat worked from scratch to get to this synthesis design.
My take:
Keep the brown
Keep the cat eyes
Keep the israeliteels
Increase the goth
For her hair, hear me out...
Start with long pink hair
Lose the hair to fire damage in a fight
Bald with choice of wigs
Natural hair growth from very short, to faded, to tomboy
No one who was old enough to have read the Wolfman Titans books to know who Jinx was watching that weeaboo trash tv show.
We all noped out somewhere between the character designs and the intro song.
They were pretty much different characters, comics Jinx was an elemental witch while cartoon jinx was pretty much just scarlet witch back when her only power was firing hex bolts that changed probability. Comics Jinx didn’t get the bad luck power until a while after the cartoon came out.
I can't think of a time where I wasn't okay with it.
Maybe because Cinemaphile stuff is mostly made in and takes place in countries that were founded by white people and it's usually not done just to make a point.
I am a racist but I don't like certain race swaps to white.
Cyborg not being black is weird for example in DC or if a character clearly has a nonwhite name it would be really damn weird.
I prefer white April in TMNT but darkie April can be done just as well if they put effort into it which they won't for the new adaption.
I can barely think of any other characters or franchises that have done this though since I don't read capeshit, at most I watch animated DC stuff sometimes and in the west it is a big nono to white wash even though adding nonwhites is always PC since they are oppressed children that can't do anything themselves or whatever
Pic, of course, unrelated.
I find bald women very arousing.
Not liking a goth girl over a Black Panther character is gross.
Only underages like goths
Spot the troony
They can be hot, but it's hard to beat Jinx on the right.
this is just a 2000s Transformers situation where they give a character the name of a past character even though they're completely different
That b***h is as "white" as a homestuck troll
She has technically become lighter
1. The characters have completely different personalities, backstories, and superpowers. I don't even think they were meant to be the same character, they just rolled with it once they realized the name was taken.
2. That is clearly a case of pinkwashing.
>pinkwashing.
Why do tell more.
i've heard the term used for when they just shove the token girl in pink as lazy character design. jinx was the only girl in the hive five at first i believe.
Whats comic Jinx like?
She doesn't have a personality, she's never had an arc dedicated to her. Minor character. For importance, the Fearsome Five are Doctor Light > Psimon > Mammoth + Shimmer > Gizmo > Jinx

You first OP
*greywashing
The recent Cyborg comic finally updated her look by combining both designs. Not sure if it will stick going forward.
What does she look like in the comics? I thought she was just a 2003 TT character
I can kinda get behind the look. The pink is a little bright tho, she still looks cool
Who is that Guts Man wannabe in the middle?
Atlas, the Cyborg villain from the Teen Titans cartoon
Billy Numerous and See-More are also imports from that show. I guess the writer decided 20 years was long enough to start doing some synergy to fill out the Cyborg villain's gallery
>Billy numerous
Always funny when they can't call their character "Multiple Man" as obvious as it would be to name himself that.
Multiple Man was copyrighted by Marvel X-Men of course, but DC also has Multiplex
Billy Numerous is way better than a generic ass name like Multiple Man
Y'all motherfrickers talking about Multiman?
Ostensibly
To be honest, is not that bad, pretty actually but doesn't look at all as old or "new" jynx.

Comic Jinx isn't black, she's Indian.
What the frick they did to gizmo, I always knew he was manlet, but not a goblin/dwarf breed.
I'm surprised it took 18 years for the look to finally be updated in the comics.
Does that means that she is in love with Wally West?
HE'S A MARRIED MAN
The hair should be short, make it like those manga tomboys, also give her the cat eyes
Now that's just lazy cartoongay pandering.
This isn't half bad actually. Honestly, I dig it. Nice balance and mix of elements. Wouldn't mind seeing more of this Jinx if she ever gets to show up. Or at least a nice clear shot for references.

I wish that they'd have included Shimmer and Psimon instead of Atlas
Both hot
>different designs
>different personalities
>different powers
At point why not just have them be separate characters
Branding
No one who watch teen titans as a child saw jinx and went “I KNOW HER. SHE’S THAT CHICK FROM DA COMICS”
No one who was old enough to have read the Wolfman Titans books to know who Jinx was watching that weeaboo trash tv show.
We all noped out somewhere between the character designs and the intro song.
Being old enough wouldn't have made them read that comic come on now
They were pretty much different characters, comics Jinx was an elemental witch while cartoon jinx was pretty much just scarlet witch back when her only power was firing hex bolts that changed probability. Comics Jinx didn’t get the bad luck power until a while after the cartoon came out.
Cartoon jinx is totally different and better, plus I doubt anyone cared or knew about her from comics.
Wrong and shit take.
Cope and mald baldgay.
It's really funny normies hate TT 2003 for whitewashing Jinx and Starfire.
Apparently Indian men prefer lighter-skinned Indian women so this is more accurate.
How come I see no other instances where whitewashing was okay?
This really doesn’t work in that lazy quasi anime style Teen Titans did everything in.
I can't think of a time where I wasn't okay with it.
Maybe because Cinemaphile stuff is mostly made in and takes place in countries that were founded by white people and it's usually not done just to make a point.
Or you're just a hypocritical racist
I am a racist but I don't like certain race swaps to white.

I'd frick the shit out of comics jinx
Every time
