Totally. I remember people used to sing high praises about him because he wasn't writing bizarre insane shit like Ken Penders. It's been funny seeing the tide shift lately as Penders falls into irrelevancy with every gasping breath and Flynn's issues with compression apparently got worse at IDW.
Ian is the Sonic franchise equivalent of Dave Filoni.
>Praised for earlier works that were great and is also seen as a savior. >Got forced by higher ups to do stuff he didn’t want to do for years. >Also is the head lore master. >Fell off with writing in later projects. >Is also currently stuck in the past and is relying on references as a substitute for consistent writing. >They also both wear the same style of hat.
>Flynn's issues with compression apparently got worse at IDW.
It's REALLY fricking bad in IDW. They needed a dozen issues just to introduce 2 new villain characters and have them lose a few fights. Just recently, an entire issue was wasted on Sonic giving somebody a guided tour of the Good Guy HQ.
Came here to say this. At least, Alex and Dana actually seem to be disliked by a significant portion of people in the industry as well. But they're still darlings amongst normies and xitter sheep.
>Matt Braly
Does anyone actually hate him? And he has a movie coming out so it's not like he's being ignored.
Mutt associates a little too closely to the formers, though I feel like he's started to distance himself, both from them and from Disney. But I know he's rubbed a few people the wrong way in the amphibia threads. He's come across as self-loathing at times, especially toward his white and christian side. He also made a really awkward interview with a hardcore left-wing journalist (who was such an anti-white racebaiter that they even got banned from twitter, of all places) where he was baited into saying that Sasha was low key racist.
what's the story behind him
One day, he pulled into a parking space in Nickelodeon studios. What he didn't realize, was that parking space belonged to members of the Bethel Church. Butch Hartman was not going to stand for this heathen with his walking jesusfish bumper sticker to spread his heresies any further. By the time Jhonen had come to, his car had been towed, his show had been cancelled, and he had been an impromptu baptism via Hartman's little butchie.
Ever since he's never shut up about the man or Fairly Oddparents.
> Alex and Dana actually seem to be disliked by a significant portion of people in the industry as well
Even fricking Nico disliked them but what made them that disliked in the first place?
Alan Moore used to be based, but not he just whines about how DC screwed him over and comics are all shit like a 70 year old Cinemaphile poster while mocking people that liked his characters when he was good.
It’s not about whether you liked them or not. If you you thought they were cool, admirable guys then you didn’t understand the point of the stories. That’s what he mocks people for. Lack of reading comprehension. An inability to read between the lines. Needing your hand held and everything spelled out in verbal exposition by the character’s.
He always sucked, and I think he was only praised because media told people incessantly for decades that he should be praised. He's a creepy, old sex pest who has the magic capability of applying basic writing skills to comic writing. And because the American industry has a habit of dragging any random bum into the writing room, that's impressive to them. The fact that idiots like this

think his writing is smart because there are other idiots who take it at face value (which the American comics industry has trained them to do) is laughable. And let's just get down to it: They mean Rorschach. Everyone means Rorschach. Because it's the closest Moore ever come to writing anything of any complexity. They don't mean that weird sex fantasy about adolescent storybook characters, or that weird sex fantasy in the Crossed setting.
Literally any random fan fiction author could write on Moore's level. When you get down to it, comic writing is (sadly) a business that's dictated by saturation, not talent.

Could be that. Kevin Smith just sort of has eternal child-brain, though, but at least he's smart enough to realize that the shit that made him popular 25 years ago won't fly today. People change with the times, and with age. That's just part of getting older. Kevin Smith is exactly as insufferable as he always was, it's just that the topics are different now.
It's weird how the internet and social media have made people overthink something so simple as a person acting differently than they did over two decades ago. I suppose that's what happens when every aspect of people's lives is so publicly accessible, but lol.

it's completely out of character for everyone involved (a Tom King trademark) but if you can look past that, it's great
Rebecca Sugar used to have a moderate amount of respect on Cinemaphile before it became clear that she was comically incompetent as a showrunner.
