Thats something I find pretty interesting. The show has a lot of episodes where Finn unlocks some magical abilities, like with the Astral arm, Astral projection, and Astral Beast a lot of astral shit when I think about it. But he always looses them by the end, or just doesn't use them again for whatever reason. I wonder if thats because Magic in AT is tied to madness and sadness, and as a generally optimistic and well put together person, Finn isn't able to tap into his potent magic energy with any sort of reliability. It would be cool to see an AU with some sort of Wizard Finn who has fully embraces his magic side, at the cost of his sanity.

They did tangle with Superman recently, and that guy has no limits!
Lich has killed countless people before the events of the show, Billy, Finn, and Jake were probably the first really obstacles he faced in a long time.
Can we stop pretending "getting turned into a baby" was lame? It was one of the most gory and coolest scenes in Adventure Time and technically, he wasn't turned into shit but rather sealed as he's still alive within Sweet P and could very well be unleashed should he die. A very cool defeat after the Lich has been nothing but an awesomely scary force throughout the two-parter.
Yeah, the scene was cool, but becoming a fat moronic baby wasn't. Same logic applies to being torn apart and remade as the Golb cubes, only that the Golb cubes are kinda mysterious and by default are naturally cooler than a fat moron baby.

That was a huge problem with the show. The season 3+ writers took all the little one off gags and jokes from season 1 and turned them into super deep lore shit.
I don't know if him talking like a normal guy was the best or worst part about him

This was the OG Lich that got sent into an alternate universe as a result of his wish just like Finn when he got sent to Farmworld. The version of Finn and Lich you see as a result of Jake's wish undoing everything are "copies" with all the same memories of S1-4 up to when the Lich made his wish
Aw, so, Mortal Folly Lich gets it bad after I kid you not a week ago the board was saying he won because of that wish.
He did technically win, it just wasn't the victory he imagined it would be. Turns out the embodiment of chaos doesn't like a universe where there's no living thing to cause chaos or disorder with. The Lich's barren wasteland of a universe is as orderly as it gets.

tbh I just wanted at least Finona, Cake or fricking Simon to cause his defeat imagine if Darth Vader died to an attack planned on him by Jabba the Hutt. That's my feelings on Golb taking out Luch tbh.
But GOLB isn't just some random goober, its more like if Darth Vader meet the physical embodiment of the Dark Side. The Lich's defeat isn't the problem, its mostly just how they handled Golb as some out of nowhere final boss, instead of a constantly looming threat built up over the show.
This cliffhanger had me thinking he'd possess GOLB, get stuck in the same position as Betty and cast her out or something. Was definitely surprised how things played out.

Oropo's race came into existence as a result of Yugo's poor handling of the Primordial Dofus, temporally cloning himself and scatting the clones throughout history. The clones all banded together and called themselves Eliotropes (with an o), to differentiate themselves from Yugo's original race, Eliatropes (with an a). The Eliotropes worshiped Yugo, but when they died their power and memories would be redistributed to the remaining ones, Highlander-style.
By the time Oropo caught up to Yugo he was the last Eliotrope left. He resented Yugo as his race's "god" who didn't care for his subjects (Yugo didn't know they existed), still possessed Yugo's love for Amalia, and sought to fix the mistake by killing Yugo and replacing him, so he could be a better Yugo than the original ever could.
Oropo kissed Amalia partially because he bore Yugo's love for Amalia, and partially to mindbreak Yugo, so he could invade his body and kill Yugo's mind within itself. Amalia herself didn't realize the truth at the time and thought Oropo WAS an adult Yugo, who traveled through time so he could be with her and not be hung up on his slow physical aging. When she understood the truth she attacked Oropo for deceiving her and returned to Yugo on the spot.
Okay what about this:

No, because people would still complain about it. The Lich having depression over realising that his purpose brought him nothing is a much more interesting end for his character

I'd prefer if he just kept praying and got Tetris as he prayed. It's more fun to have literally no idea what happened.
