For me, Zendaya's MJ and Amy Adam's Lois were ignorable at best and cringe at worst but MAWS Lois and Dunst's MJ kinda annoyed me which puts them below the latter 2
They dated irl when they were shooting the movies. Garfield even kept himself from seeing her for days when they were about to film gwen’s death in order to channel his emotions for the scene
You can't be serious. Have you really never seen actors actually pull the effort to look like different people across their roles? The standard audience really has fallen off as much as the movies coming out today it seems.
>Clark constantly talks to her about the value of honesty >She tells him how she hates secrets and lies due to her dad hiding her mom having a terminal disease >Finds out he didn't tell her he was superman because he thought she was such a piece of shit she'd publish it
She has reasons to be mad. They'll get solved, but her POV is fine.
>If you feel like you're being treated like an idiot its ok to threaten self harm >this is normal and not the signs of mental problems
also no
I pray you never ever meet a woman who does shit that this lois has done

Im not saying its okay? Im saying from her POV it makes sense, especially when the guy almost is dead. Its just like how being with a partner who is living a secret life that he constantly gaslight you about is...bad?

Its the norm you're getting gaslit everyday by everyone, from your parents to your friends to your government itself
You too have lied and gaslit your friends. >but thats an assumption
An accurate one, because all humans are liars

You dont have to agree with how a character behaves to think its understandable with the traits they show lmao.
Yeah but if someone is living an entirely separate life, treats you like a moron when you can figure it out and is talking about honesty every single day...it makes sense you'd be mad.

I dont think its understandable is what we're arguing about, i think its wrong >you'd be mad.
yeah and you dedicate your time to showing them that you know instead of forcing them to admit it via suicide
Pretty crazy how beloved Raimi's version of Peter and Norman, Otto, etc. are so as such we loved his Spider-Man movies, but he really made one of the worst, if not the worst, Mary Jane of all time, I remember my teenager years with some of my bros who never touched a comic book before saying how trash Mary Jane was, the Raimi-verse did a number on her image before the comics proceeded to shit on her in the following years.
It's such an amazing contrast to how supportive and loving MJ was in the comics pre-OMD. I remember watching the movies and hoping that Peter would either cut off MJ for good or she would get killed off so Pete could get with Betty (who is arguably much closer to comics MJ than the movie and was more supportive of Pete throughout the movies). Outside of that, Raimi had a top-tier Green Goblin and Otto
Real story, i once watched the movie with my female redhead neighbor and I swear she actually looked at me during the upside down kiss. She moved later, and I still kick myself over not doing anything.
MAWS Lois is pretty good? Its just forced drama for one episode that follows how these characters always act.
Dunst MJ while not as compelling as comic MJ, is kinda overhated? She just lacks a lot of the thematic resonance comic MJ has past sm1 and being the first love interest robs her of her arc.
>616 pre-2008 MJ is better
I agree with that. But that's a very surface level read of raimi mj to begin with ngl. >Kidnap
Yeah that's true, and rather lame, but we also have to think that MJ didn't start becoming able to save herself until the late 80s, and its not like she never got kidnapped afterwards either. >Profession
Both had success but also hardships in her profession. In fact 616 MJ had more hurdles, even if they were instigated by outside forces generally. >Smart
MJ being that level of smart didn't happen until after the movies, she was resousrful yes, but its a bit strange to judge something after stuff that happened after. >Date
Raimi MJ left the high school jock once she left high school, because clearly it was a superficial relationship. Then she got with a person she thought was sensitive to her problems but was just parading her for his dad's approval, then she fell for the masked hero that was saving her (which is decently natural ngl), To the person that actually listens to her problems and (at least) seems open about his. The john thing we don't really know enough, but its also clear it comes from peter's frustrating attitude and on some level projecting his traits onto him. >Development
She definitely develops in both sm1 regarding her self worth thanks to her interactions with peter. And in sm2 she makes the decision to be the one standing in peter's doorway no matter what he fears, sm3 is messy but that's sm3 for you. Plus her background is definitely there, not just implied. It informs her character in sm1. Its not the same as the comics, that's true. Honestly out of the movie spider-love interests she gets the most of an arc lol. Obviously not comparable but still
>forcing them to admit it via suicide
literally Lois entire deal , she is reckless
she is wrong , there is no doubt about that but there is a reason why she acted like that.
Yeah he used the be openly racist against Asians and now the publish a book where he saves an Asian family from the KKK. Bad things don't need to remain that way.

Im reffering to traits that make the characters the characters. They can change out of it, but its just generally the way they should act in adaptations. Otherwise they're not really the characters. MAWS outside of clark and lois is really culpable of that ironically.

I am expressly saying the asians thing is an outlier that got abandoned, that is different from a trait a character has shown over and over and over again, to the point it shows up in adaptations.

So how many comics and cartoons do you need of Superman hating japanese people? Because theres quite a bit of them. Its clear its a trait he has.

Only during WW2, then they abandoned that. I honestly think your argument is a stretch. You're comparing something he did for a few years to something lois has continuously done for 80.

I would say one is more inherent to a character than the other.
And that honestly this is one of the tamer contexts for this. Its not lois doing so just to get a story lol.
>he seriously thinks that is the worst incarnation of Lois
It is she’s brown
it is its korean and she looks nothing like a korean
t.korean
Sorry she doesn’t have slant eyes and buck teeth anon.
as long as you know thats not a korean.
And as long you recognize your not white Pablo.
can't be worst then the current comic one
Shame you can't have a nice day twice.
I'm not a fan of Dunst's MJ, but come on.
For me, Zendaya's MJ and Amy Adam's Lois were ignorable at best and cringe at worst but MAWS Lois and Dunst's MJ kinda annoyed me which puts them below the latter 2
>reeeee she did mean thing in one episode reeee
Picrel mogs them both
>Has MJ's hair
>Is a redhead
>Plays gwen
Why?
She's not a redhead.
She had red hair before tasm, dunst had blonde before sm1, bryce howard was a redhead. There's a conspiracy here, I just don't know what.
She single handedly brought Gwen back to the
public consciousness and is the reason Spider-Gwen is a thing
so really
all the Gwenhomosexualry from the last 10 years or so is her fault
Her chemistry with Andrew was so damn perfect.
They dated irl when they were shooting the movies. Garfield even kept himself from seeing her for days when they were about to film gwen’s death in order to channel his emotions for the scene

impossiburu
Zoom zoom
You can't be serious. Have you really never seen actors actually pull the effort to look like different people across their roles? The standard audience really has fallen off as much as the movies coming out today it seems.
She's so fricking boring to look at, why do zoomers cream themselves over her again?
Amy Adams' Lois is still the worst
Nobody who reads comics will ever assume the worst version of a character exists outside of comics.
I'm not a girl so I can't care about love interests
What did Luz Lane do that made her more offensive than any other Lois?
Pulled an Amber from Invincible, that is got unreasonably mad at Clark for not telling her he was Superman
>Clark constantly talks to her about the value of honesty
>She tells him how she hates secrets and lies due to her dad hiding her mom having a terminal disease
>Finds out he didn't tell her he was superman because he thought she was such a piece of shit she'd publish it
She has reasons to be mad. They'll get solved, but her POV is fine.
>committing suicide is ok
no
She acted badly, but he was also treating her like she was an idiot. Its an understandable rash emotional response.
>If you feel like you're being treated like an idiot its ok to threaten self harm

I knew someone who loved raimi's movies because of dunst's MJ and Peter.
surprise to say, she behaves like a child
Real story, i once watched the movie with my female redhead neighbor and I swear she actually looked at me during the upside down kiss. She moved later, and I still kick myself over not doing anything.
Your dubs, also you did the right thing.
Nah she was pretty nice. Honestly the only person that was nice to me in high school.
Raimi-Man is alright, but he's kind of a beta compared to comic Peter. Stormin' Norman was Raimi's best character, followed by Ock.
Raimi Ock is just lizard ngl.

Speak like a filthy casual
Why? Why did they make her so insufferable on top of race swapping her?
So that when Mark eventually ends up with Eve it's going to feel so much better
>forcing them to admit it via suicide
literally Lois entire deal , she is reckless
she is wrong , there is no doubt about that but there is a reason why she acted like that.
Why does Superman just have a cube with guys inside it?
Clark also did it once to get an interview with a superhero.
And its terrible and if you can't see its terrible, you even have superman telling you its terrible
Yeah he used the be openly racist against Asians and now the publish a book where he saves an Asian family from the KKK. Bad things don't need to remain that way.
Clark pulled the exact same trick to get an interview with a random back in the late 2000s.
see
It wasnt that far in the past anon. And there's a difference between traits that are always present and something that is just "of its time". lol.
