Or even worse >poor kid gets rich and becomes uncharacteristically selfish and mean, as if gaining wealth automatically turns you into a horrible person
Or even worse >poor kid gets rich and becomes uncharacteristically selfish and mean, as if gaining wealth automatically turns you into a horrible person
The cherry on top: >Solution is to become poor again rather than become a more moral rich person
>Villain is non ironically right and makes several great points despite their more radical and morally dubious actions >Has growing support from the population >Writer writes themself into a wall trying to justify the villain's status as an antagonist in the story >"I know, I'll make them kill children or blow up buildings for no reason! That'll make people hate them for sure!
It doesn't. It makes me hate YOU writer. Coward. It never gets any easier dealing with it either.
>we have a responsibility! We save lives! > We should stuck together as a team and.... >SCooottt!!! >Jeeeaaann! >Robin i-is dating someone? >Frick all the lives we save! I can't be a hero anymore!
>Are you sure you want to bring Hellboy back?>think about it.. >He's gonna bring death destruction and the end of earth as we know it! >Hell yes! Frick anybody else!! Me! Me! Me!
>character is perfectly fluent in English, with no accent >character's dialogue squeezes in a few words of their first language for no reason
That's not how fluent bilingual people speak.
those template scripted lines towards the resolution of a story, like "you.. you saved my life!" or the one where they make up and say the same shit every time. it completely takes me out of the immersion when you can tell they just took a storyline template and slapped the characters names in where necessary. you shouldn't be considered a writer if your script does this at important moments of the setup, either what happens to cause something or resolve it.
fart/poop humor at all
it happens way more in adult cartoons than in kids shows it feels like. bobs burgers has multiple episodes relating to shitting, neverminding gene's specific brand of humor. cleveland show just had an episode on today where they sing about farting and a woman holds up a fat suit and calls the ass part the "poopah" 3 times in a row. it pisses me off not a single person ever gets annoyed about this or points out how absurdly garbage it is. like seriously, dumb moronic nonsense in shows will go viral online pointing out bad writing but not this unless it's that one specific example of total dramarama with the fart huffing fairy.
>antag's crony is pushed to stand up for themselves and stop allowing the antag to push them around >turns out the crony is super annoying and they actually deserve to be mistreated by the antagonist
coomer bait
liar reveal
Twist villains
>""serialized"" cartoon
>its actually completely episodic, theres just hints of plot every now and then to keep you strung along
"LOL LOOK WE ARE SO SELF-AWARE AND THAT IT'S AUTOMATICALLY WITTY AND SMART LMAO"
boys vs girls
cliffhanger season endings
and trips, ya lucky duck[/spoilers]
>good guys are getting a few hits in
>villain says "ENOUGH!" or "ENOUGH OF THIS!"
This happens almost every time.
>Comic relief buddy gets shafted from the spotlight for the love interest's lovey dovey romance-drama homosexualry
Woman, amirite?
>Poor kid gets rich and that's a horrible thing
Or even worse
>poor kid gets rich and becomes uncharacteristically selfish and mean, as if gaining wealth automatically turns you into a horrible person
This but with
>stupid character becomes smart
Very similar and just as annoying
This trope is literally brainwashing
The cherry on top:
>Solution is to become poor again rather than become a more moral rich person
This shit pissed off in that Fairly Oddparents episode where Timmy asked to be popular.

Korra season 1.
Still hurts. It was like smellingsalt for me though because it woke me up from the pool of mid I was deep in at the time.

The last one can be kino if the person saying or thinking that is made to look as unhinged and detached from reality as possible.
Romance arcs in comedic shows
>Show is supposed to be about a Mexican family in the states
>They speak 99 percent English
>character is perfectly fluent in English, with no accent
>character's dialogue squeezes in a few words of their first language for no reason
That's not how fluent bilingual people speak.
