Inception is simply not a good movie
Momento is great, but still felt like a student film at times.
Interstellar is his most overrated though. He just ripped off 2001 and it's very obvious he tries his hardest to be Kubrick even though he doesn't have the intellect or the eye for shots.
His best work is The Prestige, because it was based on a novel so his shitty quippy dialogue and needlessly convoluted narrative were not present.
if that's all you have i'll stick with my judgement
you seem jilted about something regarding nolan and it's affecting your objective critique
the prestige is the midwitters pick for sake of social status
its actually his worst by far
I like good writing in movies. That's about it.
I think Nolan's movies are riddled with horrible plot and dialogue.
And again, his obsession with being "authentic" in film-making really just strikes me as a giant cope. As if he's saying to himself "It's OK that I'm doing a Batman movie - I'm using filmstock and no CGI! That's what's killing cinema, not garbage scripts and passionless blockbusters!"
i agree about his writing completely but my argument is that he has talent
i think your issue is more with his autism than anything

I'd hate this conversation to amount to semantics, but yes, I would say to be a talented filmmaker you need to either cover the writing well or have the eye for someone else who does it for you.
>executed well
Inception is the Matrix without the philosophical arguments, just the space bendy effects. Interstellar is a dumb and corny attempt to make a 2001-like movie. You’d have to be an idiot to even think that these movies are high concept.
if you have a phd why aren't you smart
i thought it was supposed to make you smart but you just sound like any other moron
say something that the phd taught you about why nolan is bad
Not really. Just my opinion. Memento gripped me. Interstellar has it's moments that gripped me, like the Matt Damon parts. Inception just did nothing for me. I honestly think Batman begins is a better movie than Inception and I fricking hate capeshit.
the spiritual and philosophical emptiness of momento was part of the point, but to repeat this structural facet of 'Emptiness' in subsequent films is merely belabouring the point unless you have something definite to say.
Inception introduced some new concepts but without much apparent variation, since family life isn't much of a present issue for the lead, it just ricochets hauntingly in the background. Interstellar left me with the same impression of misplaced values. Dunkirk was interesting since it introduces younger characters in a somewhat unique circumstance (in respect to his filmography). Haven't seen the other films since then. It's an interesting inversion to allow villains a definite perspective and belief, but extending this only to a type of villain is reductive -- effectively every lead becomes a hollow sort of Lawrence of Arabia. That's good enough for the determined Modernist and skeptical Post-Modernist, but it's atomistic and artistically lacking.. for example, Delacroix criticized Poussin because his figures without direct relation to each other in the composition, Nolan's filmography has that same sense that people relate to each other only when standing very far back to reach a kind of objectivity.
nolan is an entj therefore he has fi inferior and fe demon
all of your complains stem from his films affiliative themes missing the mark due to his lacking functions
event horizon is good
Anyone who is into foreign war films.
>the dub is way worse than just reading subtitles
ladybird is trad
>Barbie is good, and anyone that disagrees is an incel
Pretty much the embodiment of pic related
>N-No U!
yes but unironically and factually and empirically
nolan is a good director and his dedication to shooting on film and using practical effects is definitely not a cope for his lack of talent
i would say having high concepts like inception momento and interstellar being executed as well as they were is proof of his talent

sorry but nolan is just massively smarter than you
Unlike Nolan, I actually have a PhD and I know what good writing looks like. Nolan is the Snyder of the pseuds.

Inception is moronic as shit.
it's on you to convince anybody

imagine thinking the dark knight would be better off without imax film technology
we need more transfolk and poc representation

>"never seen a vegana"
poser
Scott Pilgrim
hardcore syndergays. not to say that if you like his movies you're like this, i mean the incels that make liking his movies their entire personality.
Unironically enjoying capeshit
militant capeshit haters are way more virginial, picking on low hanging fruit is exclusively small dick energy
using the term small dick energy is exclusively female behavior
>De Niro or Pacino?
>Nah
>The best actor is ever is [accomplished female actress]
To be honest I've never seen anyone, man or woman, say this
Nolan is a bad director. Event Horizon is a bad movie. Tony Scott was better than Ridley Scott. Donnie Darko is a good movie.
i can smell you
>seeing veganas good even though they're ugly
Enjoying star wars
Does it count if you see it from the front or does she have to be spread her legs?
Lmao maybe I should get this shirt. I have seen a vegana but chudcore is IN.
I wonder how much pussy you could get if you rolled up into the club wearing that
Any man that watched Barbie
But Barbie is a date movie
I watched barbie with my gf and we fricked after
I can get if you never had sex, but never seen a vegana irl??? have you never went to the beach?
Enjoying any of Zack Snyder's filmography.
