This is one of those anime with an amazing concept but due to hilariously moronic aspects of japanese culture, would never do well in theaters if it's live action adaptation is 1:1. BUT if you drop all the nonsense, completely rework Mayuri (I think that's her name), keep the cute transgirl as a heroic figure, and make the protag ... keep him eccentric but pull it back some and remove his stupid laugh. Kurisu is perfect. She should undergo no changes whatsoever

The three biggest problems for adapting live action anime is the crazy character designs, silly dialogue, and over reliance on visual gags and Imagery only possible in the animated medium. Because of this scant few anime can be properly adapted.
Monster is one of the few that could work off the top of my head
