I started with Punisher then watched Dare Devil then Luke Cage. Got to the second season of Iron Fist then switched to the Defenders. So far Dare Devil is the best of the bunch. Had the best villains and non super hero shit didn't make me want to off myself.
the whole punisher show was a character regression, and completely unnecessary. he was already fully the punisher at the end of dd s2, no hessitations. there was no need to make him conflicted and add more mystery to his family's deaths. just make a show of him slowly dismantling the gnuccis.
I have a strong suspicion that they just took some generic Jason Bourne-esque show's script from their "maybe"-pile and retooled it. They were gonna have Barracuda in the second season but instead they just skipped ahead to the third season's plot because all the Marvel Netflix shows got shitcanned.

I was suspicious they were planning gangster Luke Cage to fill part of that role. Like a Cuda/King Pin hybrid.
Trying to humanize a man who does nothing except kill "bad guys" and people who get in his way takes away from the fact that his character is as brutal as they come. Frank Castle can't move on from the deaths of his family and that's one of the core things of his persona. Him finding a minor love interest with a son and then saving the girl who he eventually felt he needed to protect out of the sense of her being a "daughter" was lame. Frank can't stop killing and he won't.

thats the thing though, he kind of does. the whole point of him killing mr krabs in dd s2, is that. mr krabs teases more intrigue behind his family's death, and he just doesn't care anymore, and shoots him. plus burning down his house is his rebirth as the punisher.
then they ruined that in his show.
outside of liking the relationship between him and micro, him killing agent orange in the end, and the one or two ennis dark humor scenes, the whole show was wasted potential.
