Yeah you would put this character actor across from Daniel Day Lewis and there would be no debate that he supersedes the aforementioned.

I enjoy Eric Roberts movies more than Daniel Day Lewis. Overrated hack or guy who makes movies for fun? Your choice

I'm pretty sure Daniel Day Lewis also makes movies for fun. Well, made.

When you say "best" you're talking about objective skill at their craft, not what I like the most.
If we're taking about what we like the most, I love Brad Pitt films but I acknowledge he can't act for shit.

The frick? He's an amazing actor. He's had a few bad movies here and there but I'd chalk that up more to bad directing.

        >Daniel Day Lewis
Drama Queen moron retired at 60. Meanwhile Anthony Hopkins has some of his best roles after he turned 60. I know who I will pick as the best.

    >Hiring Eric Roberts will be a detrimental addition to your production. I’ve worked with him 3 times and believe me, he’s better off not being on your production. He will waste time and be more of a liability than a benefit.

    >1st occasion, he’s very particular about the way he’s shot. You can’t shoot low angles, and he’ll be adding/ suggesting shots just because he said so. You have to really convince him as a Director or else he’ll slow things down and waste time on the schedule if your not firm with him.

    >2nd occasion, he’s very old school hollywood. He will make these odd comments to female talent and crew. I don’t know if he’s on drugs or he struggles from something else but he doesn’t have a filter and will make the occasional creepy old guy comment.

    >3rd occasion was with me actually. He constantly acted like a child on set. And did not respect my space. He kept patting me on the back hard and messing with me after I told him not to, TWICE!! It was a COVID set and I didn’t feel comfortable having him touch me. He didn’t let me perform my job as a 2nd AC properly and on occasion would interrupt my slating. I yelled at him to stop because I didn’t like what he was doing on his last day. After that he behaved, but since then I’ve promised myself to never work with him.

      >4th occasion, on one particular set all of the donuts were going missing from the catering table. Nobody would say anything but we knew it was Roberts doing it. At one point the director asked him about it and he denied it, saying he only ate a Keto diet. On day three, his last day, he came on set with about 40 donuts sellotaped to each foot. When asked about he said there were his new Yeezy's that Kanye had made for him especially. He wouldn't take them off so all his scenes had to be shot in such a way to not show his feet. Shots in the can, he left the set saying he had a car waiting but we all saw him later waiting at a bus stop down the road. After about half an hour he came running back on set being chased by about forty dogs who were nibbling at his new shoes.

One of them is Kanneganti Brahmanandam, who has been in over 1,178 films. I've been searching for a while and cannot figure out the other one.

Eric Roberts has 754 acting credits according to imdb, not all film

            Frank Welker, a voice actor, has 889 - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0919798/?ref_=nmls_hd

This other indian actot has 889 https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0415549/?ref_=nmls_hd

            This dude has 936 - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0851317/?ref_=nmls_hd

            798 for this dude - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0523180/?ref_=nmls_hd

I think the definition needs confirmed for credits

Yes, hence the definition needs to be confirmed, some of Eric's totals are voice acting such as A Talking Cat?

Better idea, Eric Roberts needs to get in on video game voice acting.

It bears mentioning that the original quote says "screen actor". So it doesn't differentiate between film and television but it does differentiate between screen acting and voice acting. So if we're going by screen actors, I think it's the two Indian guys, then Eric Roberts. Now if you go by just American screen actors, then Eric Roberts is the undisputed champion.

Every list I looked at without Bollywood people had him as true champ so yes, he gets the crown.

Oh and Mel Blanc's synopsis on imdb states "Mel Blanc, known as "The Man of Thousand Voices" is regarded as the most prolific actor to ever work in Hollywood with over a thousand screen credits." so I do still think he was number 2 the wiki article was referring to given the mention of screen credits.
Anyway, just stick a citation needed on the iki page against that quote and let those autists work it out lmao

This was the funniest shit I've seen in months. Can't wait to watch the remaining 4 films in this franchise. Check it ASAP of you want to see Roberts scream "I'M A DOCTOR!!!" while throwing around trash in an empty alleyway and kiss an unconscious 18 year old girl who's just been in a brutal car accident.
