Its actually quite the opposite. Everyone used to hate Peggy because we were 12 and we thought she thought was annoying as frick. But then when you grow up you realize she is an extremely based, loyal tradwife and all of her "annoying" self-delusions are actually some of the funniest parts of the show

The ironic part is as the series went on she ended up one of the most shittier characters by a huge margin but I guess that was the point. Although the gay Latino guy and the HR guy were pretty insufferable too.
Her personality might be a bit grating but she does love Bobby and Luane unconditionally so that makes her a based mom/aunt. Hank however seems to go out of his way to hate on Bobby and Luane. Every early episode where he finds out the kids aren’t that bad is forgotten because next episode he’s hating them again. Yet fans of KOTH never bring up what a piece of shit Hank Hill is. He’s a shit father. A shit uncle. A shit husband to Peggy. And he’s also a shitty friend to Dale and Boomhauer and especially Bill. They also established he was a shitty son to his mom and even to his dad Cotton. Hank Hill is shit period.
The way she pronounces Spanish incorrectly all the time is pretty funny tho
She’s like a lot of female characters in comedy series. At first she was the most reasonable one in the cast to make her the straight man to everyone’s antics but as time went on she became the craziest b***h. See Dee in Sunny for an uber example.
She’s annoying but as a wife she’s pretty baste
