ITT: Franchise Killers

The Scooby Doo Courage crossover was so poorly received that it killed the Courage the Cowardly Dog franchise for good. Dilworth wasn't involved and his prequel series got cancelled while Thea White, Muriel's voice actor has died, meaning that we won't see Courage again.

Did you really expect them to make more Courage beyond this gimmick movie?

I hate how close we got to real new Courage

Didn’t Dilworth want to pitch a Before Courage spin-off for Boomerang?

There's a bunch of tweet replies where he confirms there was 13 episodes already planned. But at some point after the Scooby movie it was cancelled.

Or more of it seems like it was cancelled in favor of making the Scooby movie without his involvement

Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers movie.
Chip and Dale themselves are more popular than ever now but the RR franchise has been buried

Really? The movie is forgotten already and Park Life didn't precisely take the world by assault.
The characters are still well known, but come on, saying they are at their peak sounds exaggerated.

They have more exposure now than in nearly 30 years. Most of it is kinda crap though

If anything it killed Scooby Doo since we didn't got anything new related to the franchise after the movie outside of the upcoming blackwashed Velma show aimed at adults

Yep and I do consider upcmoing shit like this as part of the Scooby-Doo franchise, especially since it strongly hints that the gang will be nothing but shitty pups in it

I really don't see the point of it any way especially
we already had A Pup Named Scooby-Doo.

Enough to make it his last and for Disney to bury the whole damn franchise and do nothing with the IP.

Who's the gay on the left? Was he that guy that turned evil?

William was never evil, he just got brainfricked by an evil AI shortly after he joined the series and didn’t get freed until right before the finale.

Honestly William should've been part of the group longer before getting mindfricked. You can almost tell they were running out of episodes for the story they wanted to tell.

That reminded me of Reboot: The Guardian Code which also killed that franchise.

Jimmy Neutron was already canned and even if Planet Sheen never happened I doubt they’d ever want to bring it back. It was a hit but not a big enough hit for them to bring back.
