You jest, but A24 is the only studio who actively prioritizes aesthetic over plot and gives out a budget for it. The only people losing our are the people who want to extrapolate a "meaning" from everything. Most of their movies are at least nice to look at.
I disagree. I watch movies for strong visualization and directing, which A24 clearly allots a budget for. If there's a good story on top of that, even better, but if a movie's primary focus is mood and style, I can enjoy that too.

Twilight had an aesthetic, but the movie is dogshit because it had a moronic plot.
A movie cannot be good just because of how it looks. Plot is the backbone of movies, and aesthetic is a nice outfit.
