>So Spider, So What?
>So I'm a Spider, So what?
>So I'm Spider, a So what?
They should have just called it edgelord spidergirl.
little danson man
It really was a good series after season 1 and season 1 wasnt that bad. You just can't explain the actual premise of the show without spoiling the show itself
They die, they go to heaven, but all is not as it seems.
The show's problem is that they put so much effort into not being Christian that they run out of ethicists to talk about. Watching them fumble around Kirkegard while the Indian chick is in press talking about her abortion is almost the funniest part of the show.
Which means it falls into the same trap Lucifer does. They spend so much effort "modernizing" Christianity that the Demon/Devil anti-hero becomes the unironic anti-Christ. But unlike Lucifer which leaps into it head first, The Good Place tortures itself into it, because to actually take that final step into Christian morality means accepting the divinity of Christ and declaring the show itself in error.
I saw that twist coming from a mile away.
came to post this
Ive only ever seen the first episode of season 2 beyond season 1. Not going to watch further.
I still occasionally watch s1 and its still great. Im totally cool with ending on the cliff hanger of robots potentially rebelling.
Bloodline on Netflix
Dexter
Pretend its a miniseries
>main villain keeps making appearances but isn't even cast yet
kino
Beat me to it, and what a season it was.
this is probably the show with the most wasted potential
I got a Kristen Bell fetish after finishing the show.
I know a girl that looks like a hotter, younger kristen bell and with a cake ass
Basic Ethics/Morality and Philosophy for Children: The Show
I wouldn't even waste my time on the first season.
House of Cards S1 is infinitely better than the rest of the series.
I would recommend watching until S2 if you were still hungry for more and never touch it again. Jesus, what a trainwreck, all that cuck plotline, that final season...
I only got to season 3 when Jodie Foster and Robyn Wright basically took over. I don't think anyone has every been as up their own arse as Robyn Wright is up her own arse.
They had no idea how Frank/Kevin Spacey was essential for the show, in the last season they removed the actor after he was canceled and they literally asspull that he recorded his monologues just so they could quote his 4th wall-breaking lines to have some conclusion.
They should have just not bothered. I'm pretty sure it was the catalyst for the Netflix "everything gets cancelled after season 2" policy.
>"everything gets cancelled after season 2" policy.
they went for 6 seasons, for a time it was their main show, their stranger things.
S6 is so putrid that you get lines like Claire Underwood whispering in the ear of a black congressman "The reign of the middle-aged white man is over" and she replacing every minister with a woman.
And btw, the show ends on the brink of a nuclear war caused by her but the show wants us to see her as this empowered competent presidential woman, it's so fricking tone-deaf that I don't think they even thought about it.
Like I said, nobody is as up their own arse and Robyn Wright is up her own Arse.
Her career is like a broken record, first she was the Princess Bride which made her famous, then years of pretentious garbage, then Forest Gump which made her famous again, then even more pretentious garbage, then Keven Spacey picks her up out of the gutter for a third time and she doesn't even wait to go full pseud.
She is privileged white b***h incarnate. So completely and totally obsessed with herself that she probably cuts herself from the thought of ever making a creative decision the audience might actually like.
I'm pretty sure she is responsible for the decline in the show's writing. The shitty writing in seasons 4 and 5 (and partially 3), with the plot erasing years of character development to force Frank and Claire into being enemies and Claire as the "strong independent woman who wants to be in charge" was probably her doing.
She was. She and Jodie Foster basically took over in season 3 which is the season where she wastes a good 20 minutes of screentime staring at the Buddhist sand thingy and she gets her own separate plotline.
I remember the press for it quite well. This was year 1 of #MeToo but I don't think Kevin Spacey had volunteered for the woodchipper just yet (but it was just around the corner).
They have been doing that since the beginning. The earliest one I remember was Marco Polo but I'm sure they did it before then.
or better yet, watch the original
i remember i didn't liked us house of cards s1, is there a chance i'll like uk house of cards?
No. It's very dated and entirely English.
I liked it personally, but it feels pretty old. It's a BBC show from the 90s but feels like it's from the 70s. But no if you didn't like US HoC I don't see what the British one has that would make you like it instead.
I wouldn't bother, there's only one season of UK HoC and it's roughly the same story, although it is dated as the other anon said, it's also very well executed.
If you want something similar, I would recommend the UK miniseries of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. It's insanely boring in a very comfy way, and quite gripping once you get into it. It's also very evocative of the time and place where it was made, and it has a follow-up (Smiley's People) which is just as good
Tried, but the actor playing Frank fricking sucks.
Couldn't they get some homosexual that had molested at least 3 men? It's the UK for God's sake, Kevin Spacey's pederasty was essential to the role.
Kek what? Ian Richardson is great as Francis Urquhart. Imo much scarier and psychopathic than Frank Underwood.
a bong wrote this.
Nope.
Ultimate example of this.
Why couldn't they just show the big day? why do they avoid filming the proverbial money shot?
This show sux.
disagree
Baby killer.
Good.
Haunted womb.
Not my problem.
Let my holy dick be the exorcist.
>Baby murder is fine if she's got big breasts
Gangbang pornstars are less degenerate.
No, baby murdering is fine because I don't give a frick about babies. Kill them all, even after birth.
>I don't give a frick about babies. Kill them all, even after birth.
Edgy
And based
>I'm based guys, just trust me okay
You want to have sex with a woman that murders the children of men she has sex with.
Debased.
Nothing ruins a vegana more than bringing another useless piece of shit into the world. One day when you break out of your cult you'll realize that .
>Nothing ruins a vegana more than bringing another useless piece of shit into the world.
Getting an abortion does.
Nah, you only need this little fella and kill it in the womb, all you see is his unfortunate flesh and bones getting expelled like a thick piss, kinda hot. Imagine pissing with her over that baby liquid corpse.
>Inserting sharp objects into the cervix has no affect on the vegana.
Okay buddy, she's all yours.
Real chads know that a C-section scar means she's still tight.
>c-session scar
i'm vomit
is this an american thing?
Incel hands typed this
Where are you
Good luck with that.
>he recoils when his namecalling goes nowhere
hahah, what a wimp
Don't preach to deaf ears.
you just called yourself an incel
Is s1 worth watching as standalone?
You just know
>great cast
>good humor
>constantly reinvents itself so as to not get boring but never strays from its original formula
>one of the best endings to a modern show
Why did this show filter this board so much? Is it because it's the most /misc/-adjacent blue board and hearing that ethics and philosophy come from places other than "my sky dad doesn't like when I do that thing" is immediately triggering?
>Show keeps getting stuck at Kirkegard and St Francis
>Because Christians don't have the monopoly on morality apparently.
The show is gayer for Kant than anyone else. And it's not trying to delve too deep into philosophy anyway, the show wants to be taken at face value.
It's repeats the Kant/Bentham debate like a broken record because the next step in the pedagogical chain is Kirkegard.
And the Kirkegard's whole point is it's impossible to live a good life without faith in Christ and that atheists and agnostics suffering from the lack of this faith fill their lives with hollow debauchery which only serves to exacerbate their suffering.
Strip the Christianity out of Kirkegard and you get a few basic things about virtue ethics and selflessness, but to go beyond that requires an examination of virtue ethics which can only be properly studied in the context of the history of Catholic theology.
So every time they tried to step away from Kant they literally wound up caught between the need to be Reformed israelites refusing to even pay lip service to the Vatican, and the fact that all the good stuff is written in Papal Encyclicals under the authority of magisterium.
That, and the abortion thing, were the funniest bits.
you understand that there are like, other religions and transcendental philosophies right, my dude?
they probably avoided Kirk for this exact reason, TGP is is an essentially secular take on an afterlife and morality is a concept that begins in human consciousness, not Christianity
Transcendentalism has nothing to do with it.
The western moral tradition, which is the basis of the show, is fundamentally tied to Roman Catholicism and inextricable from it.
The United States is based on a book called Two Treatises of Government by John Locke which is completely couched in theological terms following on from Descartes meditations which is the foundation of the scientific method.
And Secularism itself is founded in the book of Romans.
TGP TRIES to be secular but can't avoid Kirkegard and upon at the part of the conversation in which Kirkegard must inevitably be brought up it gets stuck. Retreats to Aristotle and Plato because there's nowhere else to go, and starts again leading up to the same old Kantian/Benthamite debate about whether the morality of the act or the outcome takes precedence inevitably deciding on Benthamite Utilitarianism simply because it is the least Christian.
It just can't do otherwise. It's like watching Laurence Krauss talk 20 minutes of complete shit to explain why he's not actually trying to refute the big bang theory. What you realize what you're actually seeing you can't help but break out the popcorn and enjoy the mental gymnastics.
I have to start proofreading my posts again. Too much caffeine.
>good humor
Cringe reddit humor
You should go back
>cringe
You go back first, homosexual
All of the joke delivery was extremely stiff and embarrassing, and given that 50% of the show runtime is bad jokes it's exhausting.
>great cast
Nobody except Bell, Danson and Janet were good. The rest of the cast sucked and had no charisma or star power.
Chidi was awesome.
I'm stunned this hasn't been posted yet.
because this board have a good taste and knows that s2 is peak kino
>s2 is peak kino
Caspere knew this.
I've never watched True Detective.
season 3 is the good one
Season 2 is pure kino. Season 1 is deritive garbage.
Fargo
I miss it so much, but the second season was horse shit.
>didn't ask
Doesn't mean I can't comment on your edginess
I literally don't care. You have all the relevant information and can make your own decisions.
it's really good
bump
You can already tell. They already hit the narrative climax of having the two worlds meld, and instead of 20-60 minutes showing the aftermath they want a whole extra season.
I would like to be proven wrong but that's not how these things go.
I could tell by the first episode that show was going to be nothing more than a long series of mystery boxes and I've already seen L O S T
Stranger Things.
I saw the tides turning in the first 2 or 3 episodes of season 2 and dropped it. Glad I did.
The first season is also bad.
Eh, it's tolerable. I'd never rewatch it but it never got so bad that I decided to stop watching.
