"Nearly Lost You" is a song by the American alternative rock group Screaming Trees. It was the first single released in support of their sixth album, Sweet Oblivion.
That's the only song anyone even knows from this dog shit soundtrack. And again, it was previously released. The soundtrack may have been more successful but it is absolutely not more remembered. No one gives a flying frick about the movie Singles but they absolutely still remember it.
Came here to post this. Drown would have been a big hit had it officially been released as a single.

Also Would? by AiC was released as a single from Singles, before Dirt was released.

Thats not what I'm showing but either way the closest I got to an answer is it depends on what country you're in. And even then if its true it still only beats it by a couple months. To each their own but I dont count that. Dirt was huge and the sole reason that song is famous.
Singles had a ton of "grunge" outtakes (PJ state of love and trust, AIC "would", Cornel by himself)
Crow soundtrack was huge, had that STP song that was everywhere when it came out.
Judgement Night had the first real Rap-Rock soundtrack, tons of metal guys met up with rappers and did songs.
>metal guys
Don't forget about indie darlings Sonic Youth that made that album a really big deal. Basically at the height of their popularity. As opposed to Slayer for example. That album was a pretty big deal relatively speaking and I think I only saw the movie a decade or so go and dont remember anything about it. And not just how many copies were sold but how many other people were generally receptive to it. Like basically everyone. Also a relatively great conversation starter. If only just for what is this, whats going on, etc. And again I dont think anyone saw this fricking movie.
>Natural Born Killers
Yes a classic, and musically it was all over the place. I still play Dylan's "you belong to me" cover from that movie on my guitar all these years later. Trent Reznor compiled that soundtrack.
my dads a real grunge rocker, he loves the big four and several others and this movie he shoehorns into random conversation all the time, PJ is his fave, says when he discovered it in his late 20s that it just spoke to him like nothing else

seasons
Never even heard of it let alone heard it. And no one else has either. And I'm showing it's previously released anyway? From the "Poncier" tape?
No one gives a flying frick about either of these things but people remember that the movie Singles existed.
Offhand I'd suggest Chariots of Fire
Drown

Crow: City of Angels
had the CD, loved it, never saw the movie
Same goes for a number of soundtracks, including Singles
