If I was in 'Nam, it wouldn't have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of rape in those vietcong tunnels and then me saying "It's okay, you're filled with sense of freedom now."
I didn't know the history behind it but I, like everybody else, knew the war was pointless. Didn't need a 45 minute history lesson on something that was already established both in the movie and in real life. Especially when that completely kills the pacing of our descent into madness, you know, the actual centerpiece of the movie.
full metal jacket > platoon > forest gump > tropic thunder > deer hunter > the episode of king of the hill with the ww2 and vietnam vets > apocalypse now
the bootcamp scenes are reddit personified. that's the only part of the film reddit actually likes because of funny drill instructor man. they all hate everything that comes after as soon as Nancy Sinatra starts playing.
I was in 'Nam and let me tell you, it wasn't like this at all.
Actual ‘nam vet here. Platoon is the most realistic vietnam film
If I was in 'Nam, it wouldn't have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of rape in those vietcong tunnels and then me saying "It's okay, you're filled with sense of freedom now."
I was in 'Nam last year and it's a very nice country
My favorite part of vietnam is how the knuckle dragging villagers still have fade haircuits
I like this movie and wish it were longer
>Said no one ever
Well, Coppola did, and that was a disaster on its own right.
Said me
wait until I tell you there's a 5-hour workprint cut of Apocalypse Now. But the quality is so bad it's like watching a deteriorated VHS
such a shame
>sound of music
>jaws
>star wars a new cope
>it a wonderful israelite
All kino
It is a great movie though. Among the best ever made and easily the best movie Coppola has made.
Chariots of Fire is supposed to be this great movie, but its the most boring shit imaginable.
Has good Vangelis tunes though
The original bladerunner.
YOU THINK YOU SO BAD homie HUH
There's nothing to criticize, I dare you to name a single flaw and no Brando's weight is not one of them.
45 minute plantation scene
Very important so that Americans who went through the public school system can find out why the war really started. I know I'm a better man for it.
I didn't know the history behind it but I, like everybody else, knew the war was pointless. It insists upon itself
the whole surfing side story , cringe as hell
Nah, the fact that Kilgore had an autistic fixation on surfing was actually pretty good comedic relief. Incredible how that filtered you
Slow ass mother fricking pacing

It’s bed time gramps. Log off.
You're a fricking moron if you can't appreciate Apocalypse Now, brain rotted zoomer
full metal jacket > platoon > forest gump > tropic thunder > deer hunter > the episode of king of the hill with the ww2 and vietnam vets > apocalypse now
>Full Reddit Jacket in first place
Anon…

anon no one wants to see a bunch of young men fight over who gets the hiv ridden asiatic pussy first. first half of fmj mogs the second half.
The sniper encounter/ending is the best part.
I liked the road trip aspect but the ending was moronic.
The only watchable scene in APOCNOW
Hopper plays his Apocalypse character in this and kidnaps a fat dude
