ITT people that actually either successfully fought off being cancelled or made a comeback from it. You can list the reason too.
Aziz - went on a bad date in the middle of #MeToo

Aziz - went on a bad date in the middle of #MeToo
he didn't fight it offor come back from it
What do you mean? He has had two stand up specials and just directed, wrote, produced his own movie. He even came back and did the Bob's Burger movie.
He clawed his way back
How the hell do I watch Human Giant?
With ur eyea, silly
Watch MTV in 2007
Didn't Jeff Goldblum get accused of some stuff and then no one cared?
Yeah. Iirc it was just that he was a little "friendly" with female fans (grabbing their throats in a bdsmy way, holding them by the waist, etc) but was never accused of raping or molesting anyone.
16 year old Patrice O Neal and his friends ran a train on a 15 year old girl and she blamed them for rape
all black men rape and beat women but nobody cares.
this is why the usual blackmail doesn't work on rappers. the only way they can be kept in line by the record labels is with, "that homie gay. that homie zesty af."
>awkwardly hit on a girl and try to score a date
>get #metoo'd
Ansari fricked a chick and she wasn’t into it, he was also bad in bed with a small dick so she wondered if his insistence on fricking was sexual assault.
>I'll have a hard-boiled egg, and a soft-boiled clitoris
If she felt violated about it she should have gone to police.
Anyway Sean Penn beat up Madonna and tied her up to a chair or something
George Takei. Surfer dude accused Takei of basically trying to roofie him, Takei claimed to have no recollection of the guy and expressed regrets about some of the jokes he told on Howard Stern. Surfer dude walked back the claims, basically admitted that what happened was that he went back to Takei's apartment, Takei made them both stiff drinks, made a pass at him, surfer dude said no and Takei politely bid him good night. Maybe not a Victorian Gentleman's version of courting, but definitely not sinister.
Being a homosexual disqualifies you from being a gentleman at all.
Yup. Cancel Black folk definitely have a severe effect, but only on normal people with stable careers. AKA the middle class, "conveniently" for the leftoids. When they go after fathers or mothers, professionals, etc they can really frick up their lives. Doxxing and all that shit should give you 15 years without parole.
he didn't do anything wrong, even normies didn't think he did
Mike Tyson. Accused of rape, served time, now it's basically forgotten. It helps that he's been pretty decent since then, only really getting into one or two altercations over the years.
His son is a troony, God has punished him.
Johnny Depp? Though it's not like he has much of a career at this point.
Did any cancelled person ever stay cancelled? They all return after a year or two. Even Harvey is back
People still virtue signal about disavowing Kevin Spacey but nobody seems to truly care. Franklin don’t even get that one I don’t think he ever got charged with anything and from what I remember the entire thing amounted to some random guy saying he groped him at a party 35 years ago and instead of just denying it since there was no evidence Spacey said “the 80s was wild lmao”
So cancellation is meaningless, at least for the rich and famous
Who else would it matter to? You think some guy who gets fired from 7-11 for harassing his coworkers will never be able to work at another convenience store? Does anyone give a frick if the plumber is a creep as long as he fixes the sink?
Does that mean cancel culture doesn't exist? It's all virtue signalling and an old fad?
That’s always been the case, yes
troony gaslighting in full effect
Joss Whedon is still cancelled, which to me makes it all worthwhile. Sorry, Harv.
I think the question is what do we mean by cancelled?
Is the consequence losing a job? Ending a career? Jail time? Or just a loss of face?
Weinstein faced jail time. Jeffrey Tambor lost a job and has had 1 role since his cancelling, meaning his career is functionally over. Joss Whedon hasn't worked much either.
Other hand, Scarjo merely became a modest punchline for "yellow face" casting but has never lost any work, though her "offenses" weren't particularly severe. Dave Chappelle has been outspokenly "unwoke" and his career remains steady.
Ultimately, I think most "canceling" is a simple loss of face in the end.
