Okay so I just decided to watch this because of your post and HOLY BOOBA on the chick cleaning the window, I will see you back on the thread in 2.5 hours give or take.
it's funny to see brando in that and not think of what he would morph into in island of dr moreau. he truly was cringe as frick.
for me apocalypse now is definitely boring and it's not a good movie but there's still some value in seeing it. it's an interesting watch with some good camera work in places
Agree, it's an overweening pretentious mess. The only reason it didn't get the same treatment as Heaven's Gate, despite being just as indulgent with an objectively far more dysfunctional shoot, says more about Coppola's personal clout than the film's quality.
Filtered, especially if you find the french plantation dinner scene unnecessary to the plot, the entire Indochina war is explained here, it was always a war over golden triangle profits, chinese nationalist (kmt) with there allies of kissinger and associates (eisenhower/nixon) were using it to finance there war against western liberalism socialist homosexuals
>especially if you find the french plantation dinner scene unnecessary to the plot, the entire Indochina war is explained here
Is explaining the geopolitical reasons for the war central to the plot?
i've never finished watching 2001 a space odyssey because i fall asleep every time. Also seven samurai is boring as frick but i have slogged my way through it.
Millius' stuff was the only good thing about this movie, I felt that it's one of those movieswhere people just take the word of the zeitgeist and don't sit down and watch objectively when it's an absolute mess and people don't talk like people. for a Vietnam war film, this feels like some Russian shit like Stalker just dubbed in English.
I love Dune (the book) and the Lynch Dune, and I liked Sicario, so I thought I owed it to myself to watch DUNC.
I’m not going to be one of those galloping morons who discusses or critiques a movie without actually watching it first.
>but there are a lot of things it does better than DUNC.

I could write an essay but the best immediate example is the Gom Jabbar scene. The Lynch version is far superior for a number of reasons.

>I could write an essay
but you wont because you cant.
you dont like it because you dont like it, simple as that, you cant actually articulate why you dont like it, thats ok most people cant when confronted one why they dont like something or why they do like something >lynch does alot of things better
doesnt say any >i could write and essay on all the things lynch does better
doesnt >lynch is better for a number of reasons
doesnt list even a single one. >says 1 scene but doesnt say why its better or anything about the scene really at all.
classic lynch stan >L-LYNCH IS BETTER B-BECAUSE HE JUST IS OK!
i accept your concession.

It’s midnight where I am and I have neither the obligation nor inclination to get into an internet slapfight with a turboautist over something as subjective as this. I’m about to go to bed. Call it a concession if that helps prop up your fragile ego.
I get a zillion (You)s everytime I mention that I don't like Lawrence of Arabia. So I won't mention that, instead I'll say Unforgiven is my least favorite Clint Eastwood movie.
this
i get i didnt watch it when it came out but it wasn't good
i had to watch the movie with subtitles on because even at a normal volume everything was so fricking loud
like there was no audio balancing at all

You got filtered hard. It's a masterpiece, and not in a muh sekret codes way, but it's like if Big Lebowski were made by Brian De Palma.
This seems to be a pretty good description if you add a touch of Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker.

sooo what did you think
you didnt get filtered right anon?
I liked it (just finished literally now) but goi g to have to think a bit about that ending, who was The Owl, and a few other things.
the song made for the movie is pretty good too
and the backwards version.
filtered at the highest level.
Kill this bussy
>bussy
Putrid homosexual
the brando shit is so bad and cringe and I dont give a frick what the director was aiming for, it's a horrbile frickin movie and OP is right

More like ITT: we post the best movie of all time. Looks like OP has posted number 1, so i'll get number 2 out of the way.
i've never finished watching 2001 a space odyssey because i fall asleep every time. Also seven samurai is boring as frick but i have slogged my way through it.
you got filtered hard. did you watch it on an iphone?
>he watched it
I'm sorry you wasted your time, anon

I agree with you OP. If someone wants to call me filtered at least explain what I missed
Pic related I had to watch three times because the first two attempts put me to sleep.
>attempting to watch a movie you don't like multiple times
>falling asleep to a movie
This is peak npc behavior

>i love dune and the movie adaptation that butchers the book and is considered a joke by everyone especially fans of the book
Calm down m8 I appreciate that the Lynch movie was a flawed gem, but there are a lot of things it does better than DUNC.

Waddup gramps!
depends on the cut
Anything Kubrick, really
The redux I agree, the theatrical cut is maybe the best film ever
>"holy shit, such a cool scene"
>"..ok I get it already."
>scene goes on for an additional 5-10 minutes
You'd only be filtered by that movie if you thought Kevin Spacey was the killer
It was actually Peter Postleweite, the lawyer guy
LOTR
