I like Vandal Savage and Superman, they're my favorite DC villain and hero respectively, and I'm glad they were merged into The Immortal but frick is he a whiney jobber! for such a cool design and characterization he's such a disappointment. I never read the comics but I hope his character is treated better in the future episodes of the show as well as he's given some impressive feats. he being weaker and slower than Invincible (as stated by Mark himself in that Mars episode) makes his character so underwhelming.
I really liked Augustus in Owl House, he was a cute, funny, and welcome friend to Luz, who's character wasn't like anyone else's in the show but his character really went nowhere.
All three of these characters are side characters I appreciate in BCG and wish they'd get more screentime, especially Weezy, give him more to do besides say one liners in a relaxed demeanor once every 10 episodes.
He's literally the most based based character because he marries a barely legal Asian girl, knocks her up full of twins, and retires to raise his family in a remote homestead away from globohomo.
Rob just sucked at handling people on Mark's level or greater. Alien who was arguably stronger right up to the end just gets back seated hard fricking core.
im wondering what most of the characters we have on earth will do when there is a race of superman-lites to contend with
like, the best of them can team up to kill 1 Viltrumite i guess, but we've seen at least a dozen of them already.

Robot with prep time would be able to take care of them by then. The anti vilt suits were pretty damn effective. Wouldn't put it past him either to duplicate the other weaknesses to a lesser degree as well.
I've considered writing an Invincible fic where when Immortal is brought back by the Mauler twins he gets a power boost by Celtic deities (cause I'm pretty sure he was a Celt warrior) but idk. I love Invincible but there's also a part of me that doesn't like how Mark basically has to be THE GUY doing most of the fighting. Same problem part of me has with Dragon Ball. I will always love the franchise but I wish Krillin, Tien, and Yamcha stayed relevant.

>arguably stronger
Not arguably. He was outright stronger. Far stronger than Mark. Surpassing Battle Beast and probably Thragg after he recovered from being exploded. Although Mark did have a couple of hundred Viltrumites which could have reasonably defeated the Coalition if Thragg didn't use them in human wave tactics and also Mark knew what to expect from the Coalition in terms of resistance anyway.
I have the same sentiment about Dragon Ball. I think Toriyama wanted Gohan to be the main character even before he defeated Cell but the idea was rejected by someone with whom he worked who had seniority to him, or editors or something, same with Piccolo being the main character in the early stages of the DBS: Superhero movie, he wasn't supposed to just help Gohan he was supposed to be the main character and beat Cell Max all on his own
The immortal is a loser and at best he can convince a handful of people to his side but he is outmatched outsmarted out everything
For someone so long lived I expected him to be more impressive, not an unhinged jobber who complains more than he succeeds
I also heard elsewhere ultimately Goku's story was supposed to be wrapped up after going SS in the frezzia saga and Gohan was to take over. However fan demand for Goku and staff just wouldn't let him go. GT was a half way point of returning to the fun of the DB adventures while keeping Goku. But between that and Goten being rejected, by Super it was clear he gave up resisting and just let the Goku hair color show side win.

fricking powerlevel gays, is being stronger than other characters really all that matters to you?
That's silly even for a shōnen-esque battle shows. Most characters in Z are already outclassed by Goku in episode 1, but they're still interesting and, most of the time, more engaging to watch than Goku. Especially since Invincible has a lot of drama amongst that isn't about constant escalation of strength.
But the Earth heroes fully become irrelevant after the Invincible War, outside Robot going full moron and purging most of the bench warmers. Power levels are all that matter at that point
it's kind of important when the main antagonists of the show are all just stronger versions of him. I'm not even into power level shit, I don't write these stories I just want protagonists to develop ways to overcome the antagonists and considering this is a capeshit homage seriesin which all that matters to the people who write it is who's super power is stronger than the others, Immortal getting on the viltrumites level or even just not being purely a jobber anymore is what I'm concerned about. I just like the character and want him to improve, I don't know how that's hard to understand
Immortal is never gonna be Viltrumite tier. Best case scenario is that he chokes less against one of the evil Marks from the Invincible War, like this terrible video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=botRoLMxsaA
>Its a shame the show did almost nothing with him
To be honest, for the most part he just felt like a diversity quota. For the first season, you could practically get rid of him entirely and not much would change. They only really tried to make him relevant near the end.
It looks fine, very classic Superman in appearance, although I don't think the beard complements that suit.
Immortal having a previous suit with an I on his chest rather makes his comment on not realizing he has on on his current suit (as seen in the video) nonsensical unless whoever made it for him just didn't point it out.
Somehow I don't think he'd have a beard in the 30s and 40s but maybe there was a standard cape hero with a prominent beard that wasn't based off a character with a beard already.
He’s potentially Invincible’s most interesting character but Kirkman does almost nothing with him and just writes him and his Asian girlfriend out of the series. Probably because he ceased being a viable jobber with power creep getting out of hand.
Why? I mean, there's some interesting aspects to the guy, but the "boohoohoo, I can't do this anymore despite doing it for thousands of years, even though it's just now that Earth is facing existential threats!" was a pretty strong "frick this whiny b***h" moment. Clearly it's happening to clear a strong character from the deck and have him come back later, but it's still shitty characterwise.
>frick this whiny b***h
Yes its not like he's been doing the superhero stick for like 80+ years by this point. Not to mention he's likely over a thousand years old. I think the man's earned some vacation.
>The Viltrumites are coming
Yeah Mark will solo all of them because Toriyama, I mean Kirkman, only thinks one protag should be on their level.
Anyway Immortal will come back during it so whatever.
Its a shame the show did almost nothing with him outside of like two episodes
Yeah they shouldn’t have given him 2 episodes.

forgot the pic!

is that an au where Invincible is black or something
No that's Bulletproof wearing Mark's suit.
that was my second guess

It's even worse because we're supposed to believe this guy was fricking Abraham Lincoln.
Well Abe Lincoln was a piece of shit. He once jumped out of a second story window to avoid voting on something. Fricking Whigs.
Write that fanfic. Hell make it a self insert.
oof. Editors can be good.. or bad.
The immortal is a loser and at best he can convince a handful of people to his side but he is outmatched outsmarted out everything
He's intended to be that outclassed shitter, but the show favors him more than the comic
Good. Having your heroes get stomped doesn't make the threat look like a threat, it makes the heroes look useless.
Worf effect?
>he being weaker and slower than Invincible (as stated by Mark himself in that Mars episode) makes his character so underwhelming.

In a battle shonenesque show, yes

Oh you have a crystal ball? Interesting. Have you been able to see when you'll have sex yet?

Why does it have to come out from there?
where would you prefer it to come out?
This b***h gets both of the best fight scenes in the show
I hope she has a nice role in S2
Good taste.
Thanks

Isn't it part of Immortal's character that he has memory issues at times
Somehow I don't think he'd have a beard in the 30s and 40s but maybe there was a standard cape hero with a prominent beard that wasn't based off a character with a beard already.
I loved when this guy and his pals showed up in Ben 10.
He’s potentially Invincible’s most interesting character but Kirkman does almost nothing with him and just writes him and his Asian girlfriend out of the series. Probably because he ceased being a viable jobber with power creep getting out of hand.
Sad
Man seeing them hug in the finale was great
What would you have done with him

He should have taken it in the 90s. Too fricking late now, the Viltrumites are coming, deal with it.
