Straight fem here. FINALLY watched Hotel Transylvania and loved Johnny upon his introduction for being an actually cool relaxed guy rather than a wimpy nerd who gets the girl while acting like a loser.
However, this was a weird one because they slowly changed his characterization from cool to... wimpy nerdy loser guy...
And then they'd randomly make him cool again at times? It was frustratingly inconsistent
They introduced him as someone with a love for travel and adventure and who was unphased by things that would scare most people. They often animated him with relaxed eyes while characters tried to jumpscare him.
At this point I can't remember exactly what they did to Johnny's personality that turned it around but I just remember being disappointed at how his personality developed or IMO 'changed' into being that typical uncool wimp type. HE WAS UNIQUE ONCE, DANG IT!

It reminds me actually of how in Frozen, the Kristoff guy has a really cool uncaring ice-worker introduction who rolls his eyes at Ana but as the movie goes on (and esp in the sequel) he turns into this weird doughfaced spineless guy who's too nut-less and slapstick-y to be cool anymore.

So for real, is this a thread about nice and rape-able Cinemaphile characters? Cause I'm all for posting more borderline smut of girls, boys, twinks, mini-dykes, wimps, wienerteasers, splooshers whatever that clearly need a lesson in acceptable public attire.
But for frick sake, this isn't a kindergarten; use goddamn words like an adult.
