I know for a fact I have seen this film. But I can't for the life of me recall a thing. Not even one complete scene. I think there was an extra big giant ship and an extra big alien. But it's just a couple of random shots, no actual scenes. I recall every second of the first film.

I saw this and it's just a void in my memory. I think I remember one of them being at an old folks home or mental institution or something.
All I remember was it was sad to watch and incredibly mean spirited "humor" wise. They went from dumb to straight up mentally moronic, and them doing the old bits but with toilet humor and whatever turned up to eleven while they're all wrinkled and sagging was just sad.

Just read Angels & Demons. It was more entertaining. They're not high literature, just pulp with some fun twists. DaVinci Code is the exact same story structure, beat for beat.
The one that really killed this was the whole "ancient hunt through art and religion" gimmick wasn't some mysterious ancient trail, it was literally just a character leaving breadcrumbs.

Have you actually read 2000AD? "Campy" is exactly the right tone for a Judge Dredd movie. The real issue with the Stallone film is that the story is just plain badly written. Everything in the film LOOKS the way it should.
I dont think it’s a bad story, they maybe tried to do too much in too little time, but it was mostly pretty solid. The new one had the opposite problem. Both great in their own ways though.

Very tonally confused. It's wacky in that Kingsman style but then goes dead serious for like half an hour with a straight WW1 act. I can't say as I learned a great deal about the Kingsman organization I didn't already know from the first film either. It's pegged like it's going to show the forming of it and setting up of their....setup, but really they just throw it together fully formed in the last five minutes with no much insight. I don't even understand the "King's Man" title because it never comes up and it's immediately called "Kingsman" at the end.
It started out ok but dropped off a cliff when they went to that temple and the entire rest of the film took place there in this little lame set.
The most bog standard "soulless cash-in remake" I can think of. Everything you expect based on hearing about it happening is there. Overly clean look, charmless production, bad CG replacing practical effects, not an ounce of personality to anything (contrasting with the original film being from Spielberg and Hooper, more the former than the latter but that's a firm creator's mark either way).
