I know for a fact I have seen this film. But I can't for the life of me recall a thing. Not even one complete scene. I think there was an extra big giant ship and an extra big alien. But it's just a couple of random shots, no actual scenes. I recall every second of the first film.

        Anonymous

Yeah. From what I remembered it had like a bunch of random characters and you were jumping to much around between them to remember much.
They couldn't focus and they gave this big focus scene on some random Chinese female pilot because china.
It wasn't good at all sadly.

Beckinsale should have been a character, not the fusion of two but she probably wanted more screen time and her director-husband agreed.
Biel appears after an hour of the movie has passed, her character should have been a prostitute like in the original but the one with three boobs and she should have shown them

Quite entertaining, mildly rewatchable. I actually didn’t get around to seeing it until like 2 years ago? The Stallone Dredd was pretty bad and campy. Urban’s Dredd was much more true to source material and violent fun.

        >The Stallone Dredd was pretty bad and campy. Urban’s Dredd was much more true to source material and violent fun
Have you actually read 2000AD? "Campy" is exactly the right tone for a Judge Dredd movie. The real issue with the Stallone film is that the story is just plain badly written. Everything in the film LOOKS the way it should.

          Anonymous

I dont think it’s a bad story, they maybe tried to do too much in too little time, but it was mostly pretty solid. The new one had the opposite problem. Both great in their own ways though.

          Anonymous

it was ultra deep fried dogshit.
read 2000ad as a child, the stallone poop came out and was ruined, carried nothing not one single grain of feeling from the comics. character whipping his helmet off, stallone had no edge to him at all, instead he:s just the same good guy cop as in every other film. shit SHIT SHIT little fricking annoying sidekick idiot har hat american comedy, no satire, no nothing.
the set designers worked, but the rest if it was abysmal.
fast forward a couple of decades and dredd is perfect for feel, atmosphere, tone. just done on more of a budget so it is set in a tower and you don't see much of the city.
it fit with the 2/3 serious side of 2000ad, which was pretty miserable, doomed and stoic.
not the gargling insane side pieces.
if the studio homosexuals hadn't sabotaged it's release the future films would have been larger scope.

The original was just so fun and absurd. Sam Jackson being le right wing Hannity-like Fox News host was such a terrible and cringey substitute for Media Break segments.

This might have been the cheapest film I've ever seen that wasn't like a student film or from Nigeria. The guns looked like, and probably were, 3D printed props and everything just took place in a bit of an industrial site with the same four zombies appearing again and again.

could have been a quiet scifi.
the idea of the robot's suffering was fine, but the Jared leto stuff was as bad as morbius, and all the coloured lighting seemed to be used to disguise the fact that they hadn't built any sets or hired any actors.

the original wasn't good, and I like arnie films.
saw it when it came out and it was underwhelming, had no meat to it, no purpose, and just the gimmick of the gun.
dunno how arnie ended up working with directors who couldn't use him when he started off so well.
conan the barbarian, total recall, predator, terminator.
      then what?
kindergarten cop was fun, but not amazing.

Should not have stuck to the Buddy design or used the name Chucky, just had it be Child's Play, a reimagining, with a new doll, because it was more a tech thriller with its own thing, and wasn't too bad. All the worst parts were the imitations of stuff from the original but with a new context that made them pointless.

Very tonally confused. It's wacky in that Kingsman style but then goes dead serious for like half an hour with a straight WW1 act. I can't say as I learned a great deal about the Kingsman organization I didn't already know from the first film either. It's pegged like it's going to show the forming of it and setting up of their....setup, but really they just throw it together fully formed in the last five minutes with no much insight. I don't even understand the "King's Man" title because it never comes up and it's immediately called "Kingsman" at the end.

The most bog standard "soulless cash-in remake" I can think of. Everything you expect based on hearing about it happening is there. Overly clean look, charmless production, bad CG replacing practical effects, not an ounce of personality to anything (contrasting with the original film being from Spielberg and Hooper, more the former than the latter but that's a firm creator's mark either way).
