To be honest, the whole meme of "Three/four panel comic strip for one dumb e-girlnternet joke" isn't actually interesting enough to hang onto, especially when you literally have to go out of your way to actually be subversive or combative with real culture to be funny and you know 100% that neither Buckley nor any of the other webcomi hucksters from the 2000s would have the balls to even try.
So actually making an effort to tell a story and construct real sequential art instead of three panels of copy-pasted faces for a purely dialogue joke, is lightyears more worthy of praise even if the final product sucks ass. He wasn't funny or good as a one-comic-one-joke guy, so at least this is a small step above that.
Though on the real real real, Buckley has been doing the exact same thing art-wise for so long that it's kind of wild to know that he literally never once actually got better at making art. Like, I went from not knowing how to paint at all to being a professional illustrator from 2020 to now.
