I've been rewatching a ton of early Simpsons and the show is absolutely a narrative disjointed mess that is focused on funny gags for 22-minutes with a plot loosely thrown in to give the gags some structure. It's basically a script staple of the show that the real plot doesn't start until 6-to-8 minutes in.
Family Guy's gags are just more random is all.
I guess that explains why it was easier for me to spot in Family Guy than it was in The Simpsons.

Majority eps of ATHF are anti climatic which doesn't happen in regular show so no. Besides Regular show and family guy have the same humor just repeating the same lines and jokes every single time

I'll be honest, I watch it for the cutaways.
Family Guy also has a family dynamic spanning across a bunch of different genders and age groups, Regular Show is more workplace oriented we’re they’re all adult men with a few elders
Strangely "workplace cartoon" is the most kid friendly kind of cartoon, as it doesn't talk down to them and is far more interesting than ones where school plots are forced in. Spongebob is a great example of this.
That explains why I could tolerate Aggretsuko, since it's one of the few anime I could stand watching.
Yeah I never really understood why so many kid cartoons often force the school setting (other than burnt out writers trying to relive their high school years) It can work fine, but if I’m a kid and I come home from school the last I want to watch is something that’s gonna remind me of what I just escaped. It’s no coincidence that two of the most popular cartoons of all time (Ed Edd ‘n Eddy and Phineas and Ferb) take place in a perpetual state of summer vacation. Yes I know Ed’s 4th season takes place in school but nobody likes that season
Billy Dilley had its chance to be popular too, but that got dumped in a matter of two weeks and never got aired again.

For some reason I expected this to be different from Brickleberry and Paradise PD. It is not.
