I'm not sure how I feel about this New 52 reboot thing, but it's cool to see Grant Morrison writing Superman again. He did a really good job on All-Star with Superman at the end of his career, so it'll be interesting to see him do Superman at the start of this career.

This is a really nice find. This was my debut era, the first generation of newbies, I suppose. I had known about Cinemaphile since 2004 or earlier, but never set foot on it because it was too off-putting and confusing, and I was just a kid, I knew it wasn't a space for me. Later on I thought the place was crawling with hackers, so I didn't post for a while still, even though I had taken up lurking. My first post was on Cinemaphile, though Cinemaphile quickly became my home board. This archive still has some gaps, though, it's missing some of my shenanigans from the timeframe. Just as well.
That was the nature of things for awhile. IIRC there was a site that only catalogued threads if you submitted a request, and it got a sufficient amount of upvotes or something, which meant only the things that deserved to be archived got in
I liked this show. The problem was the opening was really strong but the rest of the series was honestly just written like the original 80's series with a new coat of paint for the most part. It was too episodic and superficial. The episodes about the distant past that Will Friedle wrote himself were exceptional, though. I feel like it really could have turned itself around if it hadn't been cancelled in favor of Lego Chimera or whatever the it was the suits decided had to result in the show being scrapped in favor of for...some reason. I think there were also cats in it? Block cats? And that was grounds enough to abort Thundercats? Okay.
Oh, right, there was something on Cinemaphile specifically about Tigra ***CCCCCUUUCKKKKIIINNNNNGGGGGG*** Lion-O or whatever the frick, a nasty little appetizer of the sitewide obsession with cuckoldry that would precipitate in the coming years. The future is going to suck more ass than you fap to, brother. Appreciate what you've got now.

The terminal downward spiral in the quality of comics and cartoons themselves has been a unique blight on Cinemaphile, even as all of Cinemaphile has steadily become worse due to the other factors that have been discussed to death. If we were freed of all of those problems tomorrow, Cinemaphile still wouldn't be able to recover, because the only end in sight to the loss of quality in these mediums is their looming, outright death.
The average Cinemaphile user hadn't been born yet.
