Existential Comics
All the philosophers being one note jokes about their most famous ideas becomes absurdly hilarious after enough binging
I love the colors and use of smears in Hello from Halo Head and also would Chloe
this reads like one of those comics that would get daily general threads on Cinemaphile where nobody actually likes the comic, they just go "UNGA BUNGA SEX THE MAIN GIRL, UNGA BUNGA SEX THE MAIN GIRL, UNGA BUNGA-" in circles over and over again
Except with the cat
yeah see what i mean? especially with those faces the cat makes, it just screams "g-guys please like my characters i know they're bland and my comic has no story b-but i.. i.. look i made them such heckin scrimbly skrunkly quirk gremlins! please!"
I dunno how it looks to you but I thought the characters had an impressive amount of depth to them. In particular Pepper's empathy and social awareness being turned in on itself, gradually turning him psychopathic as he becomes increasingly desperate to control the actions of others, has been a really compelling character arc.
Barefoot, lightly dressed demon girl seems good besides the furry part
I'm noticing the artist loves drawing feet but went for a style to try and hide that, but failed
nah i think he's just sorta trying to make all the character super quorky animal people and giving them widdol paws is cute n shit
feet are kinda cool and interesting to draw, like hands, but it's weird how if you draw really detailed or impressive hands everyone is all "woaah cool" but if you draw really detailed or impressive feel it's "oh yeah guy's got a fetish"
>he
dude who CARES i'm using 'he' as a generalized term why are you such a little gay
Just thought some might like to know it's by a cute chick.
That was admittedly a bit homosexual of me, sorry.
Ok first of all
>Cute
Debatable... She's kinda fugly looking, but whatever, your taste and all that
But secondly no, why the hell would people who think a comic is shit change their opinion based entirely on the appearance of the person making it? That's moronic, if something sucks then it sucks, I don't care who shit on my doorstep or how pretty she is, there's poop there I don't want it there
You see hands all the time but not usually feet. It's like with some furry webcomics some artists will use the medium to zoom in and out, place the camera in interesting places, but others will always make sure the reader sees that their characters have bare feet on every page. Like how in Twokinds whenever Tom wanted to show off paws he'd have the character break out of the panel border just to fit them. This comic is the same where every time the camera can pull back to show their feet it does.
i just think people get weird now that they KNOW feet are a fetish
kinda like how we'd always draw little girls with their undies showing and nobody cared back inna day, but now that they suspect anyone could be a pedo, they think it's weird
normies probably still wouldn't care about either of those
Sounds like I need to check this series out, still sucks I'm also seeing furries but hey I'll read for the girl
I liked their comics. A good number of them had interesting punchlines. Shame the comic went a weird route where the artist wanted a certain amount of money to continue making comics.
I thought he quit to go make money doing the art for Angry Birds or something.
No idea. He stopped doing the comic consistently years ago.
>Do you follow any webcomics
boy, do I ever
this list is still missing a handful webcomics from my feeds and bookmarks I couldn't be migrated piperka due to technical limitastions, but with nitter on it's death throes I thought I might as well try it out
curse you sequential art, srriz and gone with the blastwave for not using rss feeds
>puffer and clarrisa
Based. The /hyw/ community produced some great work, though the threads themselves have been cancer lately.
Agreed, I wanna talk to my fellow comic creators but those threads because drama central I feel like walking into a middle school classroom with all the whining and gossip
So I guess we should talk about our favorite comics here
What's that one about the medieval guy? It's great but I forgot to bookmark it and now I can't find it REEEEEEEE
>spoiler
Was it the Green Knight?
I don't know if it was, I don't remember the name
Can someone post pics of it for me to tell?
This lil guy
Oh, no, that's not it
Yes, it's the 2nd one!
Thank you friend
>Yes, it's the 2nd one!
Concord Initiative is based.
I'd almost completely forgotten about concorde initiative myself, had to look it up on the /hyw/ OP
speaking of, the link there is dead... which is fine by me! they've moved to ComicFury https://concord-initiative.cfw.me/ and that does have an RSS feed so I never forget about it again
...that'd be some sad irony if it is
"medieval man" doesn't exactly narrow it down all that much. do any of pic related look familiar?
>...that'd be some sad irony if it is
Why, did he died?

>Now for the bad news, the reason I’ve been hesitant to post this page is because I don’t think I have in me to continue this story.
>What it comes down to is that these pages feel like they take me forever to finish and I still end up somewhat dissatisfied with half of them because I dislike the colours. I felt confident about the story, but idea of drawing another 7 chapters to finish this arc just seems daunting for me, especially as my daughter was born last month (so SOME good news for me!) and I don’t feel like I can keep up any schedule at least in the near future.
>So, for the time being this webcomic is on indefinite hiatus. I don’t know when or if I will return, I do have some pages of the next chapter finished but am unsure when/if I’ll finish that. I wouldn’t want to stop drawing, but if I start a new webcomic it will definitely be in black & white as colors take me way too long.
>Thank you everyone who’s sticked with TGK for this long, I’m sorry I couldn’t commit to finishing the story.
>And I hope you have other webcomics to catch up with on your commute or lunch breaks.
;-;7
>had a kid
The death knell of any webcomic. Good for him, though.
>Gob just had a kid
On the one hand, I'm happy for him. On the other FRICK
Now that I think about it, I wonder if we can all put the /hyw/ comics all into various categories, it's ok if some are in a few categories at once
It'll be a neat way to organize em and make it easier for people to choose what to read based on what they're interested in
Wait, is the website for that comic dead too? I found the name on the official google doc but it seems to be offline
I really wish the Concord Initiative dude would get back to the story, the Inktober pages are nice but it's hard to keep up when you have a handful of chapter pages then months of lore tidbits, ruins the flow.
What's your comic?
You mean the one I'm writing? Or the one I was looking for? The latter turned out to be Concord Initiative
The former... Probably best I don't say
>Probably best I don't say
Dude, are you telling us you craft your own webcomic, and you post it on the internet, but you don't want anyone to look at it?
Who do you think we are, anyway? This isn't the /ic/ crab bucket. You're in Cinemaphile. And Cinemaphile is love.
anons either afraid of sharing his comic because he doesnt want Cinemaphile to shit on it or doesn't want to come off as advertising/promoting his own stuff
Eh, I mostly just don't wanna derail the thread into /hyw/ 2.0 where everyone just talks about their own comic and potentially invites the dramagays too
Scrap and topheavy?
I check in on them every half year or so to see if there's anything new.
Also I'm still bummed The Green Knight's site barely lasted a year after hiatus before the host pulled the plug. The chances it might ever come back were already slim enough as it is, but something like that's just final
Still wish him the best tho
I cant belive the first CRAB tournament go so well, sad that they decide to make the other on /ic/.
idk the 2nd one was pretty solid in my opinion
till it exploded at the end
What is /hyw/'s problem anyway? Something in the water?
>Sandra And Woo
R. I. P.
*rrrip*
Author just started a new comic.
Aint the same unless he starts multiple arcs about the e-girl's sex life
Wasn’t Rice Boy finished?
It looks like it states that Rice Boy completed on that chart, but I think there are a couple follow up comics 5that were made after it ended
Kill Six Billion Demons.
I kept seeing the threads here on Cinemaphile and it caught my interest. The first time I tried it I wound up dropping it, then when I tried it again last year I got hooked and binged it. I even bought a physical copy of book 3. I miss Cio.
>file deleted
what was it
he posted some gay steven universe thing
amphibian.com
Programmer humor with clipart frogs
I like that the comic isn't a image but HTML with separate SVGs.
Girl was hot as frick though
https://tapas.io/episode/3021899
first chapter of my new horror anthology series.
Dope art style.
I've been falling out of them, but every few months I tune back in to pic related. I definitely think I'm too stupid to understand the rest of the plot though, things got confusing when it turns out the current events in universe were another time loop that's happened atleast a hundred times
There's also this, which is too Cinemaphile for Cinemaphile and too Cinemaphile for Cinemaphile so I don't expect it to be talked about anywhere, but it had a physical release I saw out in the wild which really surprised me. It's a bit heavy on the torture porn at the expense of the protagonist who's a muggle in a world of sociopathic superhumans but the roles reverse later on
Unordinary was great at the start and it's disappointing how boring it became.
oh thank god someone else here that knows what that is
I've kinda tuned out from the plot after John turned into an edgelord jackass screaming and shitting his pants who needed Seraphina to give him his pacifier, the last plot point I recall is how Seraphina lost her powers, but was slowly getting them back due to a shady drug company. Feels like nothing about EMBER was revealed
I've been following the comic since the start, and it's been getting pretty interesting again after the "I'm da joker baybee" slump.
>Spoiler
That stuff is all revealed, it's all about how John and co. is dealing with it.
I checked this out of curiosity and the comic art is so rough, like it looks like a storyboard. It's sad how webtoon has influenced creators to rush out their work so much
It's super dead but everyone should read Warrior U
https://e-hentai.org/s/37e60355e8/2482438-1
maybe this thread can give me a good opinion: how do you guys prefer reading longform comics?
I wrote a full issue of a comic that's formatted to traditional page sizes, and the layouts don't really translate to panel by panel scrolling that webtoons/tapas comics tend to do, so I'm trying to figure out hosting/page layout that makes sense.
>panel by panel scrolling that webtoons/tapas comics tend to do
i fricking hate those, a good comic uses it's paneling well
don't try and appeal to those gays bro, if your comic is made to be read properly page by page, post it that way, especially if you make good use of paneling and tend to break them
I prefer full pages over long scroll but I'm part of the minority growing older and more decrepit. The hard truth is that the majority of people are browsing on phone. Long scroll format has its own nuances which can be harder to wrap your head around if you're in a conventional book page mindset. If you're just starting out then I'd say you should stick with what makes the most sense and is enjoyable to you. Formatting stuff becomes more intuitive with experience and it's better to have something done which you can then see how well it fits or doesn't fit somewhere.
As for hosting I think I've seen some people cram traditional pages on webtoon/tapas with mixed results. Other places like comicfury may be better suited for what you have in mind. You could also try coding your own site which will give you greater control over how you want to present your comic once you get over the basic coding hurdle.
Anon I'm gonna let you in on a little secret
It doesn't matter what the majority thinks, it doesn't make it good and if you like things done a certain way, stay true to it
> You could also try coding your own site which will give you greater control over how you want to present your comic once you get over the basic coding hurdle.
It’s not that much of a hurdle, at least not with comic press
remember when it was a big deal when buckley copy-pasted expressions in his comic?
i don't recall this being a big deal or anyone talking about it but it's always shit when people do this, as well as when artists copy and mirror half the picture onto the other half
nevermind the fact that it's lazy- i don't think they realize how BAD it looks
it's always evident, this is never slick, it's not some genius timesaving move that nobody will notice and people only get performatively outraged at when they do "discover" it- it's always, ALWAYS super obvious and looks unpleasant and jarring on the eyes
if you absolutely have to do some copy pasting to save time on large projects (which these aren't even) make the shortcuts in places that aren't super evident like the sketch
sometimes it's ok to completely copy a panel over, like for emphasis, if a character is pausing or something, but even then you need to make some alterations or redraw the thing because seeing two of the exact same panel next to one another will always jump into the readers' eyes
this has been an uber autistic PSA thanks for reading
It's fine to have completely identical panels without redraws when absolutely nothing changing is the point - e.g. a character being completely stunned by something. Same as having a long completely still shot in cinema. Of course, overuse of this technique is annoying, and comics also have other ways of depicting stillness that can be used instead.
You're right those are instances where repeated paneling is used well, but I cannot overestimate how bad it can look if both panels are EXACTLY the same
A mild difference in pose ,the sliiighest change in facial expression, or even just redrawing part of the image for some line wobble and variation goes a long way
The issue wasnt so much the copy paste but how he got a high-end tablet at a time when very few artists could afford a non crappy one, but still used templates and put as little effort as humanly possible
new comic from John Allison:
https://badmachinery.com/comic/conan-the-blood-egg-starts-monday/
Conan the Barbarian
Came to post about this
Apparently Conan is open sorce now? It's not like John gives a shit, he's done batman and X-men comics too
>webcomic dies because artist gets a life
It's bittersweet
>webcomic dies because artist does too
It's just bitter
Clown Corps is good.
>Comic about clowns
Immediately sold, tell me more
its set in a city where the local rodeo clowns became superhero-cops. main character is a former cat burglar who agrees to go to clown school to atone for her crimes. There's lots of silly fights.
Be careful
I've been let down by those before
Never trust fricking clowns, they always let you down
i love comics where clowns are presented as a separate species or caste from regular people
Weirdly, there are alot of webcomics about clowns or featuring clowns
that's cause clowns are cool
post some
Quads of HONK
I'm currently reading through the whole court part towards the beginning of the comic and it's incredibly annoying, the main character is constantly spouting shit that sounds like it was written by a tumblr girl after she lost an argument and then thought up a retort in the shower 5 hours later still seething, towards characters who are all drawn like shitty caricatures we're supposed to hate if they're against her, and elegant wise heroic beautiful and calm individuals if they agree with her, and it's not held up with any comedy or framed as thematic, it's just kinda painful hammering in the point, I feel bored at best reading this, when I'm not feeling annoyance
If this is what the whole comic is like then it's a bad sign
Yeah but action webcomics are hard af to find these days so I will take annoying characters if fun to look at
It moves away from characters as one dimensional as the annoying lawyer dude, but if you don't like the main character now you probably won't like her later.
>if you don't like the main character now you probably won't like her later
Well that seals the deal for me, I can't stand her so I'm done reading
The only one I still check up on is Endtown
It's still...alright.
These days Aaron seems to focus his pacing on just lingering a lot on a lot 'shock and awe' panels or 'extreme close up of character's expressions'
What the frick is even happening anymore
Psycho MILF
No seriously, post more comics about clowns
I miss pic rel so much bros, god I wish I lived in the alt universe where Hussie finished this instead of whatever he ended up doing
The Mysterious Marionette is worth checking out.
A couple dedicated shitposters camping out in an effort to turn one of the namegays into their own version of CWC. see >142373629 for an example, they'll repeat the same line to an autistic extent. Bit of a turnoff for the actual artists.
This site explains everything that went wrong with /hyw/

When I was a fledgeling artist I used to look up to this artist, but holy shit does this artstyle look horrendous now that I've developed my artistic eye.
>tfwyastyledevelops.jpg
outta place-ers
i once thought that web comics were the future
I used to keep up with an ungodly amount of them, now I barely remember their names.
The only one i truly remember was gone with the blast wave and octopus pie, the later because I read it recently.
Getting supplanted by webtoons is such a lame demise
Literally, too. I went to search for a webcomic I read as a kid named Catharsis and all I could find was webtoons using its name.
it is the next natural step anyways
Everytime I try to give Webtoon a chance most of the things I see in there look like fake manga that would be on a tv show. I don't know if I'm making any sense
webtoons should be treated the same way you treat comicfury
it's a host, nothing more
if you don't want to be exposed to the reality of the lowest common denominator, don't use it as a discovery platform. this holds true for comicfury too, and any and all other webcomic hosting sites
It's no different than what http://www.mangamagazine.net used to be like
Webcomics and Manga living under the same roof, with the later taking the spotlight
Grrlpower, Marblegate, and Daughter of the Lilies are all pretty great.
if this page is anything to go by then i dont believe you
It's a webcomic about busty chicks with super powers and the designated dfc girl that's managed to keep updating twice a week for over a decade. It ain't supposed to be high art.
Look.
I’ve been reading Grrl Power for years at this point.
It’s slop. Plain and simple.
You can like the slop, you can read the slop, but don’t pretend that it’s better than what it is
>Daughter of the Lilies
This one's OK, but the author's practice of censoring curse words and rude gestures is annoying. I mean, you're not some censor adapting someone else's work for the feeble minds of the public. It's your own work. If you don't want to see that stuff in your work, don't fricking put it there instead of making pages look like someone took a marker to them.
>Grrl power
Kinda trashy, incredibly horny which isn't unexpected given that the author used to be a prolific old school furry bondage porn artist, and seemingly gave it all up to make this comic. It's more surprising there's so few anthro characters in it, given that history.
>webcomics, made by people with limited time and often for free, must be made on par with professional comic makers who have full teams and get paid living wages to draw
>OR ELSE THEY SUCK
This is the reason no one wants to make webcomics anymore
You just made up that statement
You just completely fricking imagined it and then got angry at it
Followed it for nearly a decade. Title is in the pic.
I like Marble Gate it's pretty great. tl;dr amazing magic dungeon appears somewhere on the world for a century before disappearing again a few times every millenia and whenever it appears people build a town around it to explore and get rich off the magic loot with this iteration following the adventures of a devout Not!Irish Not!Catholic Cleric and her adventuring partner a Dwarf Warrior and the dickhead Rogue that invited her to the town to join his party only to tell her they already found a healer when she arrived.
I like this one, it fills the hole that the Green Knight left
Author is based and has made the occasional appearance here
I liked this way more than I expected to.
Thanks Anons, love Cat Girl creator
I, too, love the cat girl creator.
What's your top 5 favorite webcomics, Cat Girl creator?
1. Pizza Time
2. Girls Complex (aka the Coward Comics)
3. Crawfish Comic
4. Keith Stack’s stuff
5. Yolo Swag Comics
Several authors are regulars here, such as the author of Puffer and Clarissa.
Astruc also used to come here (might still) but people got rather critical and he was easily offended.
I read a ton of webcomics. A shame they are such a gamble since in most cases you can count on them not being ever finished. But I still enjoy it.
I love webcomics. I could make a list of the ones I read though most are seemingly on hiatus.
In my Feedly's "comics" group all I have left are:
Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal
Extra Ordinary
FoxTrot Comics by Bill Amend
Hedger Humor
Lackadaisy Cats (I should probably delete this one, it's dead)
Loading Artist
Oglaf!
Poorly Drawn Lines
Sarah's Scribbles
Scandinavia and the World
String Theory (I keep holding out hope that the guy will start drawing it again)
The Illustrated Guide to Law
The Oatmeal
The Perry Bible Fellowship
Toonhole
xkcd.com
I used to read lots of others, but stopped for various reasons. Romantically Apocalyptic went from fun to confusing. Dresden Codak went from a cool sci-fi mystery to lesbians in search of a plotline. Questionable Content got boring long ago. Buni lost its charm. And so on.
And of course there's so very many that simply went away over the years.
>xkcd.com
isn't that the guy that just makes stick figure portable arguments? if you like that stuff, it makes the rest of your list look very unappealing to check out
xkcd makes, sometimes funny, comics about STEM stuff
>stick figure portable arguments
I can't figure out what this means, much less what comic it's referring to.
He makes basically longwinded "comics" that are just [text text text text text text text] above a single doodle of a stick man saying said text, that aren't made to be read and enjoyed by his followers, but rather agreed with and then saved in order to be posted later when that follower gets into an argument with the "opposing side" and can't think of an epic winning pwn, he just unleashes one of these comics upon his opponent and winrars the internets forever and ever
TLDR it's shit
do you only engage with xkcd comics when they are posted on reddit or do you actually read the xkcd comics because the preachy ones are like, once in a blue moon
he makes STEM field related jokes mainly
If all I see of a comic is buckets of garbage, I don't give a shit if there's supposedly a whole truckload of gold out there, because I don't believe it can come from a guy who regularly makes this kinda garbage
I don't wanna listen to the STEM musings of someone who makes "here my son take this comic and go forth and win internet arguments" comics, and does so intentionally and knowingly (which this guy does)
Also a lot of his opinions are shit
He sometimes makes interactive games or animated movies that update on their own for like a year at a frame a day, I spent like a month exploring that solar system in a bottle he posted last year
https://xkcd.com/2712/
Huh, looks like he silently updated it, the world looks completely different now
there's two of those I believe
https://xkcd.com/2712/ and https://xkcd.com/2765/
maybe you're remembering the later?
oh yeah, you're right. Mystery solved.
Are there any other examples of a print comic like Empowered, with multiple printed tpbs going online? I guess Gold digger was posted but not in a webcomic format (Though Fred Perry has done a lot of actual webcomics too)
>it makes the rest of your list look very unappealing to check out
So don't check them out? You do you, boyo.
>Sarah's Scribbles
Did you read her Fangs comic?
I did. I liked it a lot.
Anon your taste is like... Perfectly Reddit
I don't even mean this as an insult, I don't mean "haha the stuff you like sux so I'm calling it 'Reddit' as a generalized insult"
I mean this honestly and literally, just about everything you recommended is like front page of Reddit's list of favorite comics, I say this because I remember using that website and I know this
/r/comics used to be a great place to find new webcomics. (Maybe it still is, I just got out of the habit of visiting it several years ago.)
God no it's not. It's dominated by painfully unfunny shit like pizzacakecomics, you have to dig to find anything decent on there. Sadly it's somewhat become anyone who doesn't do gag-a-day won't bother posting there.
>Lackadaisy Cats (I should probably delete this one, it's dead)

Ironic
Kamen America and Blade Devil. The latter technically isn't a webcomic but is done by an acquaintance of mine, so I'll namedrop it anyway
I've been reading The property of hate for a couple of years now, its a cute webcomic, starts kind of slow.
Artstyle evolves over the course of the webcomic because the artist got better etc.
I really enjoy it and perhaps someone else will check it out.
https://jolleycomics.com/TPoH/The_Hook/1
I feel obligated to post this pasta whenever the property of hate is mentioned, Hero a best
>Put off, cautious, and fascinated, but isn't scared of a man with a TV for a head randomly materializing in her room
>When she does get absolutely terrified, she still manages to stand her ground to a certain extent and not immediately break down screaming and crying
>Gets stabbed through the heart by the physical manifestation of her own darkest fears and OVERCOMES IT
>Walks for dozens of miles with only minimal complaining
>Incredibly observant and smart and figures out solutions to puzzles that leaves even RGB stumped
>Watches RGB transform into a dark monster that annihilates a small army of eldritch abominations all at once, then after he passes out she DRAGS HIM FOR MILES ACROSS OPEN PLAIN TO GET HIM TO SHELTER
>Street smart in addition to regular smart and has an innate instinct about who she should and shouldn't trust given her situation
>Angry that RGB won’t take her back home so she takes him prisoner by trapping him in a ball and chain
>After RGB gets banished from the marketplace she is given legal custody of him by its leaders and is given the official title of custodian
>”What do heroes do to monsters?” “SAVE THEM!”
>Loves bugs and rushed up to give a giant preying mantis a big hug because bugs are cool
>Walked through A SANDSTORM to save RGB’s life for a THIRD time even though she still doesn’t fully trust him
>On top everything I just said, she's a massive tomboy. (I like tomboys)
She’s also very believable and always acts like how an actual kid would act. There's one point where she gets this big fluffy sweater, and pulls it down over her knees and boots to form a kind of shield. I actually used to do that all the time with my sweaters as a kid! She might be one of my favorite characters ever.

wtf is this
This topic is recurring, that is a list of previous ones.
Surely you understand how little your statement answers my question
I miss twogag doesn't even have a archive
Name a webcomic weirder than this. You can't.
it definitely got weird later on with the whole yiff-gods and spiritual-political tones and what not, but early on it was such a tame comic (for porn i mean) i swear everyone freaking out about it was just pretending
it was literally just to cartoon animals in a sort of cheeky playboy funnypages style of comic having the most generic, vanilla, heterosexual, casual, non kinky penis-in-pusspuss without clothes on in about 3-4 various positions plain shit imaginable
I'll tell you actual real weird, not bait-anons-into-reading-dumb-furshit """weird"""
station v3
the more you read the harder it gets to follow what's going on anymore
and believe, there's a hefty fricking archive to wade through and get lost in
I just went to check what it's been up to just now and this is the latest strip. even the comic itself agrees. I shudder to think how many times they might have done this exact joke by now
the pic you posted kinda looks like one of those animal comics where everything is a metaphor to le quirky real life situations or the guy's personal societal opinions
>bait-anons-into-reading-dumb-furshit """weird"""
Some of the weirdest shit out there is the furshit. They got one track minds with no filters and that produces unique results.
You're right, but that doesn't make every furshit weird
Kit n Kay was extremely vanilla, in fact the first few strips kinda had that charming lame vintage sex humor feel, like something you'd see in a lewd adult magazine on the funnypages
I'll give you that about Kit n Kay, but I'd argue his follow up comic Gene Catlow, which by all accounts is PG at worst, is by far more insane. Both the content of the story and the revelation with his death that he was secretly everyone in his life.
>Kit n Kay was moreso weird in the way it was made, not necessarily what happened in it
why even recommend reading kit n kay instead of the story about the man behind it then?
not that lolcow shit really qualifies as weird
Well no I mean, the stuff in the story is very much weird and you can get a lot of it by reading it, I just mean there's no one singular event that's weird on it's own, it just jumps so much between being twelve different things that it's absurd
Kit n Kay was moreso weird in the way it was made, not necessarily what happened in it
I mean aside from the still ongoing speculation of whether or not this guy really WAS Albert Temple, and the fascinating life he had... It went from being short form comics about a pair of foxes having a minor problem, cracking a few jokes, looking smug, and then solving the problem with sex, simple stuff
Then they introduced the whole spirituality plot and tied it into Albert's family friendly non-porn comic about human-animal conflicts and spirituality and politics. Then it featured events from the author's real life, (Which are still dubiously real or not, but either they're made up and he's a fricking genius dragging lines across a corkboard tying all of these stories and lives he spun together, or they did happen and he's telling us about how his GF's mom is comforted by watching them frick. Either way it's weird and fascinating, pick your flavor). Then it goes back to the spiritual political grand tale he tried spinning.
I can't tell to what degree his comic is supposed to be "serious" but knowing what an interesting and intelligent man he was I wouldn't be surprised if it's on another level of intentional absurdism juxtaposed by profound complexity, and trying to fit it into one genre is a fool's errand
Still, I can't get over how even during the most serious moments, the characters still have sex with one another
They'll be talking about politics and the gods and the fate of the world while they're fist deep in someone's vegana and it just blows my mind
it is indeed weird shit, but not really all that weird in the grand scheme of things
you just get a kick of getting people to read it, like you would getting people to click a lemon party link
>"oooh noo is that a conga line of old men fricking each other?"
>"the horror! funny animal people eating tuuurds!"
>"Black personman save meeee!"
give me real weird
give me comics that genuinely lost the plot and have become an unreadable mess
not some entry level /d/ shit
>give me real weird
>give me comics that genuinely lost the plot and have become an unreadable mess
>not some entry level /d/ shit
Kit n Kay
No, seriously
It isn't outright weird but Kevin and Kell has world building where your family members can get eaten and you have no legal recourse. There was another comic where a character pulls out tornado porn because that was the artist's fetish.
this just reads like political comics with animal metaphors
>tornado porn
Yes
I see the Peridot schizo is testing new techniques
lmao
Hyw- a comic
Can you Black folk at least keep the drama in your own goddamn thread
The shitposters are extremely mentally ill, anon. HYW has tried to oust them for years, but it seems like sinking a general on a Vietnamese hole digging forum is all they have in their lives.
i firmly believe in the saying "those who can't create, can only destroy"
these are people who can't draw and are absolutely nuclear mad that people who CAN draw are creating things and having a good time, so they feel the need to come in and ruin it
The thing is tho, not every creator on /hyw/ is Mozart, their art isn't all incredible, most decent, some are mediocre and a few are baby scribble level, but they still have fun and strive to improve
The issue with these people isn't that they can't draw- it's that they can't *learn*, they're eternally defeatist
>tfw trying to network in /hyw/ after a year
At a certain point you just lose any tolerance for the 5 turbo autist permanent fixtures that never shut the frick up and you only check the threads in the slim hope some fresh face with a genuinely decent comic pops up long enough for you snag their contact info.
I like Lotta Svärd.
Updates only come by every 2-3 months, but they are often 50-70 page long chapters.
that's impressive. I wonder how well it does for the creator, I've been considering moving to big spaced out updates instead of bi-weekly too.
It was weird how they kept trying to pass her off as ginger when she was just ambiguously brown
lol i decided to reread Kit n Kay from where i left off and i forgot how weird it is
they just frick, constantly, they have a conversation with some other people and they frick
this girl is sucking a guy's dick and then she stops to answer someone's question, they're plowing one another while discussing serious matters like politics n shit
There's a fascination to a webcomic that builds the entire world around the one thing the author wants. An absence of shame that can't be stopped. What makes it funnier is how important that one thing is becomes to the plot. I almost respect it.
If this really is Albert Temple, then yiffing is by far not the only or even first thing he wants, he was a wise man, an electrician, had an interest in sociopolitics, cartoons and anime... He wasn't some rando who just wanted to frick, Kit n Kay seemed to be his one outlet for that, the one time he went and said "here, here is where I let go"
THEY DEFEAT ONE OF THE VILLAINS BY GIVING HIM AN ERECTION
THIS IS A REAL FRICKING PANEL
I kinda wish Cinemaphile wasn't a blueboard sometimes so I could post some real weird shit for you lot to see
For now, have this
Out of context KnK is a treasure trove. I wish there were more as infamous as Knk to gawk at.
As a /hyw/gay I apologize.
Anyway, as far as Hiveworks comics go, Phantomarine is pretty gud. The art’s beautiful and I’m such a sucker for nautical-themed character design.
I can't stop watching the animation of the lady in the middle, I'm in love
Which webcomics do you miss? After seeing this thread I decided to have a quick check through my list of finished, abandoned or otherwise dropped comics and it's kind of depressing how many have just fallen off the Internet. Interestingly enough a small handful seem to have come back, so I'll have to do a proper dig through my list at some point.
A lot of shit hosted on webcomics nation like dust in the wind.
I found that site back in high school just surfing for shit that wasn't blocked while I waited for someone to get past the firewalls every year.
Pouring one out for Teddy & Newt
>Whomp! ended because Ron found himself a gf who quickly dumped him and he's never recovered from it
>VG Cats missed the gravy train of peak 2000's webcomic popularity despite being known as one of the OGs, creator had to make really badly drawn porn of the characters to make ends meet and eventually canned it
>Joelasko was already drawing porn of them and the novelty of the OG creator drawing porn of them dropped when it turned out he couldn't do it
>Two guys and guy lost steam after doing it for so long and even Patreon wasn't enough to keep him going
>Camp Weedonwantcha is on perma hiatus because Katie is in the industry and Nickelodeon doesn't know it has gold when it's right in the palm of their hand
>Las Lindas guy couldn't keep his hand off his dick from the getgo
Sad how some of these went out with a whimper while others died because of sad bullshit
I actually hope Camp Weedonwantcha never comes back, the 'temporary' ending she left off on I think was the perfect way to finish the series, providing a sense of closure without spoiling the camp's mystery.
>garage band, VCD, latchkey kingdom, hachimitsu, OPM (the webcomic version)
haven't really found any comics that get too interesting and trying to browse sites like tapastic and webtoons is a nightmare.
Las Lindas is still going, and somehow the plot is actually going somewhere. But as far as i've heard the artist seems to be a lot more interested in knighthood (that other comic he's making thats set in the same universe) nowadays.
>VG Cats missed the gravy train of peak 2000's webcomic popularity despite being known as one of the OGs, creator had to make really badly drawn porn of the characters to make ends meet and eventually canned it
For some reason he's back at making comics again, though at a glacial pace
>yeah see what i mean? especially with those faces the cat makes, it just screams "g-guys please like my characters i know they're bland and my comic has no story b-but i.. i.. look i made them such heckin scrimbly skrunkly quirk gremlins! please!"
I get why someone looking from the outside would have that impression, with all the fanart of the masochist cat and whatnot but the actual writing and art are pretty legit.

I'll never forget the fact that dobson, scandinavia and the world, romantically apocalyptic and stupid fox shared a flat in britain to attend some con
Wait, what? Story?
Dobson did a comic about it
Hard to find now that syac is dead (romantically apocalyptic too, apparently)
Have some stupidfox crossovers while I dig up the syac comic:

It was like That 70's Show meets Degrassi.
>I've also heard it referred to as "what if Bittersweet Candy Bowl had an edge"
TWOGAG has great porn
i know people say that "Gene" is just Albert's alter ego and all the stuff he writes about is fake, but I can't help but think that's not true, their styles are similar in a way a lot of furry styles in the early 2000s were, but they also have unprecedented differences, particularly evident in the way they color
Also if everything he says about his "gf" and "mother" IS fake, then he must be an incredible writer, because it all fits together perfectly, accounts for inconsistencies and even describes human psychology in a way the average person wouldn't be able to make up as a lie but would absolutely be able to write unknowingly if he were to observe it
What proof DO we have that they're the same people, aside from "similarities in style"?
if it's all fake then that only further proves what a genius and simultaneously autistic person he was to fabricate all this
Outsider is nice, if you can live with a glacial publication rate.
>follow webcomic for years
>return to it later and wiser
>realize it was the author's barely disguised fetish the whole time

>get curious and leave a comment asking him why this is
>he actually responds to me, but I remember that I don't fully understand his explanation
>shrug and move on in life
>mfw years later I remember
This story is bs. He actively sought those kinds of comics out and now is acting like "oh i was surprised they were fetish comics!" no one is that dense you can't tell immediately looking at one of them. That's like reading Twokinds then being shocked later it was furry cheesecake fanservice!
if you're an adult, yeah, but when you're a little kid or even a teenager, things like that can very easily fly over your head
>no one is that dense you can't tell immediately looking at one of them
You and I know it's a fetish because we spend too much time on the internet, but sane people can't comprehend how anyone would get off on being eaten so the only way normalgays would realize what's going on is if someone previously explained it to them or if they're into it. If you showed a stealth vore comic to your grandma (which you probably shouldn't) she might be confused but she almost certainly wouldn't recognize it as porn. Ditto for all the other autist fetishes like inflation, flattening, wonderbread, and so on.
Not going to lie I'd kill to find out someone made a wonderbread webcomic that ran for years.
How do so many people develop this vore fetish of being eaten and why is it often tied to furryism? I see nothing sexual about vore so why do so many people find it sexually gratifying. Do they get off on eating?
>watch cartoons
>big furry monsters eat people
>haha make me feel funny
simple as
>character gets unpopular
>cast gets too bloated
>need to move on the pacing
>arc is dull
Just have a character eaten! There you go. Roster thinned, progress made. More webcomic artists could learn a thing or two.
>1995
This comic will be 30 years old in a year.

Is that woman still making comics or did she only do that one infamous one?
It could have been worse. They could have passed on their fetishes to you and you'd be stuck with them forever.

The Two Sides of Bones. It's based moron-core
https://m.webtoons.com/en/canvas/the-two-sides-of-bones/the-first-side/viewer?title_no=934697&episode_no=1
I have been waiting TEN YEARS for the next chapter. Ten fricking years for the finale. And last year was another year of NOTHING other than a single GOD DAMN Twitter post with a half finished page. I'm not even angry anymore. I'M FURIOUS
Oh hey that's one of my answers for
I used to read a few vore ones turned out before I knew I was into vore. I don't think the webcomics were the reason I was into it I just naturally sought them out.
IT'S NOT FRICKING VORE
>artist abandoned it in favor of drawing endless vore porn with other OCs, other people's characters, etc.
>it's still boner land
>but it doesn't fill the monster-shaped hole in my heart
>fetish artist tries making a non fetish webcomic and gets bored
Cowards. Make what naturally drives you.
It's still in the spirit of not knowing what you're reading is the authors barely disguised fetish
to be fair it's super obvious just from the character design (especially if you've seen the artist's stuff elsewhere ahead of time, since he doesn't keep separate accounts or anything) but weirdly unique in that it's the singular thing he draws that *doesn't* have his fetish out in the open
Anyone remember Judecca? Have it preserved somewhere even?
I have been following Sinfest ever since Ishida went full chud despite him being basically Stonetoss with better art and less funny
>orcs are all white guys
He's losing his touch.
“Straight out of Mordor” makes ot pretty clear he’s not thinking of white folks.
man, the path this comic went down is so twisty and bizarre, it's hard to figure out it even ended-up this way. Was it really all because feminist pussy got him acting strange, or were there deeper causes to it all?
I don't wanna derail this thread especially with politics, but basically yeah he's just kind of an easily influenced guy. First he was all progressive, then he became a radical feminist, then a transphone, then a racist, now he's just kinda commenting on the topic of the week... It's actually for this reason that baiting homosexuals on Cinemaphile love his work so much, he was just about every political side and held every opinion at one point or another and made a comic about anything and everything so it's really easy to post just for for those delicious (you)s
Really? Because I honestly don't think he's really changed over the years. His "politics" were always shallow, poorly conceived, and self-serving.
The funniest part is that he never got the feminist pussy, he went radfem entirely for the pursuit of pussy he would never see.
>Start out as edgy comedy about religion
>Becomes increasingly cutesy as time goes on
>Suddenly becomes very political around Obama election campaign
>Suddenly is mostly political commentary with occasional romance comics about the nerd kid and the devil girl
>Then one day the tricycle b***h shows up and now the comic is 100% feminism 100% of the time, the nerd kid and devil girl hate each other now
>Years later the comic becomes 100% about hating trannies
>Now it's a right wing political comic
How many years until it circles back to being a politically unaligned joke comic?
5-7 years
A friend of mine used to read this, but dropped it shortly after it went all feminist. Showing him what it's now was fun.
I still follow Ava's Demon after all these years just because I love Ava and want to make sweet, passionate, bed breaking love with her each and every night until we've had at least 7 kids
I'm glad the creator is finally in a relatively stable place and making more pages regularly.
Let's hope and pray it lasts. She's basically the master of getting sidetracked. I just want some more of my wife, and am thankful to see her again. It's been far far too long
Coffin Jackson. I'm in love with this guy's art and recently I discovered he had a webtoon.
All of the story-based webcomics I used to read have stopped updating. I stopped following them when I realized most of them will just not have a proper ending.
Did no one else want to frick the shit out of this guy?
i stack racks like this so little wee baby b***hes who can't even pick up 25kg get the frick outta my gym lol
I was just using it as a ref for me liking her design. I think it's more that it's such a sociopathic way to do it inverted like that, also you should always take your weights off just polite and also think of newer people anon. If you do it like this really you aren't being the gym bro your predecessors want you to be.
frick em
Jokes aside a lot of gyms have problems with posers
Either kids who don't actually wanna train, just frick around on the equipment, or women who are just there in full makeup to lift one dummbell for her tiktok and then go home
Doing this IS a good way to filter them because for some reason those are two types of people who can't stand asking for help, a guy who might be weak but actually wants to improve will ask for help but the posers won't
Eh I'd rather help em if they want it and leave em be if they don't. I know my first gym experience I was super lazy and naive but some cool jocks at my school motivated me and helped me get in the best shape of my life at the time. Same thing in College remember just meeting tons of chill gym bros. I like to pay in forward even though I'm not nearly as knowledgeable lol.
Also I'd say the girls are the biggest epidemic right now so many of them recording guys and making false narratives and just wasting time and taking up space. I think most male posers either give up fast or want to try and are intimidated or just feel dwarfed by others.
Also I didn't ask for help bros just saw me and knew I needed it as a guy I wanted to do it myself it's a pride thing may just be me but I feel I've seen and helped others who were like that.
>Nerfnow is still ongoing
>Some characters I've seen ages ago are still being used in the webcomic
Huh
Might I recommend some cute girls and fun fantasy?
https://tapas.io/series/Squires-for-Hire/info
This is cute but my inner reading immediately made her voice sound like Spongebob, and I can't turn it off
Don't ask me why, but I keep imagining her to sound like bobby hill
Is he really stealing sponge bob dialogue?
Wouldn't say it's enough to call it straight up stealing, but it's a similar sequence to the first episode.
>"I'm gonna go in there, march straight to the manager, look 'em straight in the eye, lay it on the line and... I can't do this!"
So more like an homage/tribute to SpongeBob
There you go
headcanon accepted
>big blue eyes
>freckles
>spongebob dialogue
Well
I get sad thinking about webcomics because when I was in tumblr I used to read a shit ton of them but now the only one I can remember is Prequel
Pizza Time is a wonderful, very unique comic which never fails to make me laugh and be entertained. I agree, go read it people.

This seems to be the last one
Oh man, these comics... I remember this being a huge deal on Deviantart back in the day depending on who you liked most. The Fresh Epics was a funny concept- a bunch of various "popular" DA artists all together doing whatever they did best.
The strangest inclusion to me personally was Acerotiburon since her big thing was Naruto comic strips of her wanting to frick Gai, and her boyfriend-later ex boyfriend-later husband.
shes married to some foreign guy now and lives elsewhere, her bf around these times she always drew was apparently a massive abuser so she cheated on him then got back with him then ditched him and married some guy a few years later. I just remember because the guy was using his dA to tell people at the time.
shes still drawing the same shit but contains it to facebook now basically
is this the bear guy?
the blue bear guy, yes
Stupid fox was a good comic, I didn't know they were connected to this idiot.
You made webcomics, you make connections. Dobby didn't get infamy right away.
>unused to British welcomeness.
I'm not familiar with this stereotype, at least in the context of Londoners.
>stereotypical hats reflecting our origins!
i get the viking helmet and the russian ushanka, but what's the tophat supposed to be? british?
also really, dobson? a baseball hat? not a cowboy hat, a coonskin or one of em ol pilgrim hats? so these are the kinds of people who say shit like "america has no culture"
>btw who are these guys? especially the one in the military outfit and gas mask i love his style
That would be romantically apocalyptic, see here
The lady is scandinavia and the world: https://satwcomic.com/
And the fox: https://stupidfox.net/archive
I remember being quite into RA back in the day, but then it took a turn for heavy, HEAVY prose. then he started to add chapters full of prose between old pages. then he started to add even more prose on top of old pages that needed no prose at all.
It made for a miserable experience as you'd have to reread the archive every so often to make sure you found it all, and I ended up dropping it. Maybe if I had known of RSS at the time it would have been more bearable.
It's strange knowing it's dead now. No clue whether the curse of all other comics turned prose befell him too, if covid did him in, or if he got caught up in the war on ukraine, being russian.
Kit n Kay has some
Exploitable panels
Here, save this for all your reaction image needs
i'm reading this comic and a lot of the plot is about how the main city of yiffburg where everyone is constantly fricking and eating a local berry that makes em randy and then fricking some more is so great and everyone misjudges it but as soon as they come in they wanna stay and it's supposed to mean the city isn't that bad and they're being prejudiced but the comic completely misses the overtones of how FAST people switch their opinions, there's never learning about the culture or the history or anything, it's just "wooo sex and drugs" and it could all be attributed to an altered state of mind but they never touch on this
there was a local fairground ride that had some Romantically apocalyptic artwork stencilled on the side of their caravan, probably picked off a random image search, but it was weird seeing a bit of old internet out IRL like that.
Should've taken a photo
I miss String Theory
Government black site super scientist melts his eyeballs trying to build a teleporter and shit gets weird from there.
Well, you've sold me
Has it got a website?
Stringtheorycomic but again it's basically abandoned with the creator making like 1-2 pages a year because he got a job as a "real" artist or someshit.
The almost-rape scene in prison still lives in my head rent free.

Very blessed anon, her design is cute as hell so it’s nice to see you doing stuff with it
Thanks you've helped me fulfill my long lost goal of drawing art of her, also really definitely liked her design and remember her being a massive b***h which makes it hotter to bully her. Sad most people dislike the series I may draw some more but I'm mostly out of ideas right now and doing another thread.
OOGA BOOGA
Kit n Kay doesn't even really portray sex or "yiffing" the way we do in our world, as something normal yet crude that one community simply chooses to do in public and freely
It's not like the town of Yiffburg is just this nudist free love community and that's it
Sex is something everyone freely talks about and talks about doing in public and even in places outside of Yiffburg people do it freely and in public, Yiffburg is just kinda the center of all that, they treat sex more like, say, a sport or something

BOOGA OOGA
Hi there, Cat Girl author again. I remembered another comic I just found that I like, Virgins Anonymous is funny
what do you like about it?
The dialogue has good comedic timing, the artist uses comedic mixed media/digital collage which is really interesting visually but also serves as a good gag on its own
I've been reading RPG World. 90% of this comic is just IanJ drawing blowup dolls. How the frick did this guy end up marrying Rebecca Sugar?
The only one I follow currently is Outsider, and I just check that one once every couple months. I used to follow Necropolis but that hasn't updated in years. There's just not a lot of webcomics that are interesting to me.
VCD is the only one I follow currently.
Have any modern webcomics used interactive trickery?

Frick man I miss webcomics having their own sites
All the webcomics I read have their own sites.
List them.
I did. Look higher up the thread.
This needs to be brought back, especially in the wake of social media being fricked right now.
Webcomics never stopped having their own sites.
What are you Black folk smoking? Nothing changed in this regard, except Webtoons became popular. But it's not like Webtoons is leeching away webcomic content, because its comics and their target audience are completely different from traditional webcomics. And hosting sites like whatever Drunk Duck is calling itself these days are positively ancient. So this is literally only a problem if all you read is Korean romance comics.
>webcomic thread
>all the usual suspects
>no one lists the ones they used to read or fell off of because they're not popular
I've already read the popular ones list unknown ones so I can know them!
Here's one that's gonna end after almost ten years soon

Funky alien designs, Earthbound influences and an almost ungoogleable name
Deviantart kept posting that comic on my front page. They spent so much time in the vegana tunnel fight I thought it was a fetish comic.
>thought it was a fetish comic
If it was there'd be more ENF
The Noob
MMO shenanigans involving both the players and dev team
I was confused about it way back when I first read it because I had only ever known WoW and a lot of the EverQuest/Ultima Online references went over my head.
This guy does many comics that are like italian Mickey Mouse with a tinge of Ren & Stimpy

Trying to find a webcomic, it had stick-figure characters and they were mostly named after the color they were. I think the first one was about grey(?) who was just an autist who liked playing video games, but it ended up going way past just that with other characters and their own storylines. Blue, I think, was a smart guy who used to hang out with Grey but ended up following Red (or the jock character) for acceptance. Green and Orange had this love plot going on where one was in love with the other. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I can't really just look up "stick-figure webcomic" without gettling like 30 different results, so I haven't had any luck trying to find it.
I think it's called Normies
Here's a storytime

That's the one! Bless you, anon.

Man, I wish he’d update more
I love Beach WZRD
Goddamn I wanna read this but there's so many other comics I also wanna read
Maybe I'll make an exception and push this one to the front of the list
It's pretty short, only a couple of chapters so far. mcnostril also does a lot of funny one-offs like that Vermintide Valentine's Day comic.
Just read through this one and was really impressed. It's better than 99% of moe out there right now. Great character designs, the way their personalities bounce off each other is hilarious - Why is this so rare? Is it really that hard to just have a comic about cute girls in cute outfits doing cute things without incredibly stiff dialogue and a moronic cast?
Personally, I don't see what people like about it and why it gets plugged as much as it does. The art is nice, I'll give it that. Really nice. bawd Witch looks proper bawdy. But other than that? I don't think it's all that funny. I can't remember a single joke from it, despite reading it a few months ago. And it's incredibly inefficient with its pages, leading to a comic where the characters spend a lot of time talking to each other, but nothing happens. Plus, the central conceit is just lolrandom stuff, so there are no real stakes or plot or anything.
But there you go, that's why it's rare. We all like different things.
"Hitherto" means "so far" or "up to now." It's so jarring when people use old-timey words to mean something completely different just because they sorta-kinda sound similar.
Like when actresses mis-read the "wherefore art thou Romeo" line as if Juliet is looking for Romeo, instead of asking herself why it had to be him, of all people.
to be fair it's implied she made the rule up, so she might not know what the word means either
The wizard's powerful but she's also a drunken menace trying to sound smart
I appreciate the comedy dynamic because there's an actual give and take with both major characters having their time to shine rather than allowing only one to constantly one-up the other. It'd be easy to fall back on the Wizard just constantly being more powerful and causing bullshit to happen, but Melody brute-forcing her way through certain situations with her good nature keeps things from feeling too cynical and one-sided.
>start reading
>realize 6 pages in there's alt-text
>have to start again
god damnit. could have been way worse but still.
all webcomics should be contractually obligated to have their first ever page be a warning that there is in fact alt-text
I had the same thing happened to me with Housepets! about 60 pages in.
>Housepets finished its run.
I can't believe it's over
I don't even know what Rick is doing now because twitter is unusable without an account.
>didn't realize this
Will remember that for my reread
>realize after several hundred pages that the artist is actively replying to questions in the comments section
I've been keeping up with Girls with Slingshot's current reread.
omg i love hazel
These are fricking beautiful. I now need a thread dedicated to taking a shit on Hollywood and the entire industry for hiring nothing but talentless hacks because "not enough money and we don't know them". I for one am glad we're going into another animation recession just like back in 2007-2009 when we had nothing but live action instead of cartoons, at least we didn't pretend we have cartoons with dogshit like Flapjack, Adventure Time, Regular Show, Uncle Grandpa and its ilk which all feels like its made by the same group of people.
You Cinemaphile people actually read?
Never
Voihon was the one webcomic I found myself really into, then it just had to crash and burn numerous times because of its utter douche of a author punishing people for reading it because of his own insecurities; making it nearly impossible to read conveniently now. I still love it and definitely recommend it to anyone who likes weird stuff with cool art and unique storytelling but only for the first two iterations.
Trying Human. Romance/Sci-Fi. An alien falls for a girl he and his fellow grays were probing. It references ayy conspiracies and real-world events. Art style could take some getting used to, but the artist is continuously updating old pages. It's still getting weekly updates.
That sounds really similar to DJ Gray, even though I'm sure it's much older and completely different besides the basic premise.
Tom'N'Artie is a criminally underrated Webcomic. The art is top notch, the main characters have a good tall straight man with short funny guy dynamic, and it's ongoing with no signs of stopping in the future.

It's kind of odd seeing Dobson not being a massive shithead. His renditions of the other group members are really on point for their respective styles, and their human versions also look very identifiable. And while I'm not rolling around laughing, the humor is OK. And he actually draws backgrounds for these. I've always said Dobson wasn't a bad artist, just a lazy one. This is him putting in just a little more effort, presumably because he actually liked the experience. It's a shame he spent so much time putting himself on a pedestal and cutting corners the rest of the time. Con Dobson seems like a decent guy.
Thistil Mistil Kistil started when I was in high school, gain popularity and lost popularity twice due to author hiatuses. Apparently it’s hard to produce a comic with full time work.
Nowadays I might think it tumblr trash. But I’ve stuck with it so far and may even by a volume someday, if they become available.

How do you guys follow and find webcomics? Social media? Friend’s suggestion? Specific apps?
Nearly all the webcomics I've ever read I first saw posted on Cinemaphile. I then bookmark the comic and read its updates occasionally.
These days there's only one webcomic I really care about cause I've been reading it for over a decade.
If a webcomic had a links page I checked it out or one of those top webcomic sites
https://twokinds.keenspot.com/links/
https://www.sdamned.com/links

How many of the ones a longrunner like Freefall has added have long expired by now?

Random ways. I hear about them here, find them through random searches, and sometimes look on the few ancient webcomic sites. Man, I wish The Webcomic Overlook was still active. That was always a good way to find webcomics.
On some sites webcomic authors will have a short list of other webcomics they read and enjoyed. Alethia, for example -
https://alethia.kstipetic.com/links.html
ads, topwebcomics, Cinemaphile, any comics recommended by the author of any other comic I follow, and lately spiderforest's "comics of the week" thing
>Do you follow any webcomics? Anything you have bookmarked and actively check up on? Or maybe stuff that you used to read and is long dead that'd you'd still recommend...
I'm surprised no one has recommended Girl Genius yet, it's been around forever and is still active,
I'm still mad that we haven't gotten the return of best henchman/hairy middle aged harem protagonist.
Unsounded got me in a 4chins book club following the updates
I'm surprised at how little love Harpy Gee gets considering its quality
It got a pilot rejected by nickelodeon
Yeah but it still regularly updates, more than most webcomics even.
It's very good, but I also feel like it has little to discuss, oddly enough.
>the world of gumball amazing gumball
My brain jumped to a similar conclusion.
I follow Mike Maihack, he makes comfy strips with Supergirl and Batgirl, plus a lot of other shorts.
I've seen his insta, and Cleopatra in Space, but didn't know he was making a webcomic.
You ever think about how Ctrl+Alt+Del ended with sci-fi revenge murder/suicide played completely straight?
Does anyone know of a webcomic that was about a person who had some microchip implanted into their brain, and I think they could hop into different realities? The art wasn't very good, but I remember liking the story enough not to care.
Remember Kid Radd from the classical video game Kid Radd?
No, I never got into that game, I played G.I Guy instead.

Finally, Cinemasins for furry webcomics! For real though, that's a huge list to trawl through for potential stuff, nice find.
>Cinemasins
You mean it sucks?
Its about on par with Cinemasins in tone and content, take that as you will.
Anon's point is that Cinemasins sucks absolute dick and makes really stupid points with their "sins".
True, but dissing something out of hand for cheap laughs because it's mainly just people dissing things out of hand for cheap laughs seemed a bit hypocritical.
"It's just a joke" is a stupid defense. Because something is intended to be humorous doesn't make it any less stupid. In the context of Cinemasins they also pretend to make serious criticism on stuff like plot and such. And in the context of that blog that was just linked, I'm looking at their TwoKinds riff, and it's already stupid. They're making the point "It’s been like five pages and we don’t even know what this guy’s name is for gods sake", despite the guy's name being revealed two pages ago. And this after making the point previously that "this comic is going way too fast". And that's also pretty much what Cinemasins does: Contradict their own previous points so they can mark down another sin.
I didnt mean to defend either thing, merely to not attack them. The negativity from their comic coverage left a bad taste in my mouth.
Haven't heard of half this shit. They all furry, bad, or just weird?
>Peter and Company
That takes me back to this comic he made
Didn't he make his webcomic about an irl crush and she basically took over his comic's narrative?
>work sucks
>oh no my big bare furry paws are being sucked towards a vacuum cleaner look how big they are this is so embarrassing
What's your favourite Garfield parody?
How many previously free internet strips have become Patreon paywalled over time? Dilbert and PvP come to mind.
Dilbert was a bit more than a "free internet strip" webcomic lol (it's just a funny understatement)
I wish it got an animated adaptation
>spoiler
aw man
Want to know a secret about webcomics? It doesn't matter if they're terrible as long as you enjoy reading them.
Been reading this Marble Gate Dungeon comic. I quite like it. The strange thing is, the art lacks a certain... flourish a lot of other modern Fantasy webcomics have, but on a second look is actually quite good. Environments, characters, creature design are all top notch. The characters also get a decent amount of development. Also, the site lets you navigate with the arrow keys, which is a small thing, but another comic I read over the last few days didn't let me do that.
Guess a new thread started here
>Prequel in the OP
It's going to get jannied.
