Not a projection, I'm just telling what will happen. Hide pretty much all pills in her house she can OD on. Don't sleep too tight at night, she might call with a last plea. Better start picking spot on the cemetery since it's all pointless. Don't tell her that though, okay?

You actually had me going. I actually don't give a frick if they have Kanye West playing Abraham Lincoln. I just wish it wasn't completely one sided blackwashing. Why can't we also have Ashton Kutcher playing Martin Luther King Jr?
Hmmm let me think, did both black and white people get oppressed for well over 300 years or was it just one of those two that was the oppressor and literally used poeple as slaves?

These days you lot have got it in your heads that they should be allowed to refuse to cooperate or assimilate, and still draw all the benefits from living here. but other than that i agree. just not for the same stupid fricking reasons
I’m not impressed by Marlon Brando’s acting in the "I coulda been a contender" scene in On The Waterfront. It’s too theatrical and stagey, sure that’s the point but I don’t care. It feels hokey and unnatural
The only good performance I ever saw from him was The Last Samurai. He was okay in Rainman too. I guess he’s good at playing himself, alcoholic and wealthy.
I mean, Cinemaphile is extremely contrarian, so an extremely unpopular opinion here just circles back to being the most vanilla opinion imaginable.
Like, I think 2001 a Space Odyssey is on the podium of the greatest movies ever made, Arcane is a groundbreaking animated series and so is Love Death and Robots, and it's pretty amazing what Marvel did with its cinematic shared universe, although phase 4 is doing its best to run it through the ground.
>and it's pretty amazing what Marvel did with its cinematic shared universe, although phase 4 is doing its best to run it through the ground.
man thats how i feel. i want to have some hope with Ant-Man and GOTG cause they're my among my favourites in the MCU but yeah. hoping they'll coarse correct once the F4 and X-Men show up proper.
Star Wars had one decent scifi flick in the 70s but it shouldn't have become a franchise any more than any of the other decent scifi movies from that decade should have, especially not when it started introducing moronic twists that weren't originally planned and immediately retreaded plot ploints like the death star. The only reason it's such a juggernaut today is because they turned it into a toy franchise in the 80s and so now you've got two or possible three generations of people who were brainwashed into loving the SW universe because of playing with the toys throughout their childhood(and their parents making them play with them and watch the movies) and having the whole "collector" thing giving them the hope that if they bought one of every Phantom Menace toy then they'd become a millionaire.
Star Wars (the six films) is both a juggernaut and one of highest achievements in cinema because George Lucas is a genius.
Name a single creator who has mixed a blockbuster with expertimental cinema like him. There's a reason israelites bullied him until he gave them his work. One of the most legendary and successful stories was told by a white man who didn't have to sacrifice his integrity or take shit from anyone.
its funny cause palpatines office is one of the few actual sets in the movie but it looks like cgi.

>but it looks like cgi.
That's because it is. They CGI'd OVER the props, the same way they CGI'd over the stormtroopers that were actual extras in costume, to make all of them look uniform.
Kinda agree.
I watched Goodfellows, the Irishman and A Bronx Tale back to back and although they were all very good, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was watching the same damn movie three times.
The Last Jedi is the strongest film of the nuStar Wars trilogy.
Let me develop a bit: >The first episode was a carbon copy of A New Hope, but weaker in every way. >I didn't even bother with Rise of Skywalker
While TLJ: >Actually had a theme going (the death of heroism) >Made Rey a little bit less of a Mary Sue while keeping her interesting >Made Kylo more interesting and nuanced >Had Luke still be a badass >Had one memorable action scene (you know the one. Yeah sure the choreography is not HEMA-accurate but it looked great)
The deadly sin of the trilogy was not to keep going with this direction.
Although I'll admit that Holdo's plan made absolutely no sense
Inb4 "that's like bragging about being the smartest moron".
Well since I'm on Cinemaphile I'd have to say
Mulholland Drive SUCKED
Who the frick actually thinks that was a good movie, just because you want to sound smart with a Lynchian wiener in your mouth?
Michael Bay is a shitty storyteller and his action scenes suck no matter how hard Cinemaphile pretends otherwise. The guy even admitted he makes dumb movies for 10-12 year old boys
Go to a doctor, anon. Your testosterone levels are dangerously low. If a movie can't intuitively be understood by a 12 year old, then it's pretentious bullshit.
Not even a little bit in the back of your mind? When the third Black person homosexual of the episode shows up, you aren't the least bit tired of how calculated the whole farce is?
It was kind of cheap of them to rip off the "waiting for the people who were there when the most important thing in your life happened to you, to pass on together" aspect from The Titanic, though.
What do you like about it? The wooden acting, the overwrought symbolism, or the ultimate pointlessness of a "evildoers smote by god BUT IN THAILAND" story?
Reddit is a much better place to discuss movies or shows. Cinemaphile is a complete fricking embarrassment. ANY thread about anything is 50% subhumans calling the OP a shill, 25% subhumans b***hing about blacks or women and 25% subhumans insulting each other. You homosexuals aren't even funny anymore, so there's not a single good meme either
>if x is bad then that means y is good
Too many morons here adopt this thinking and reason like children. Can’t wait until Cinemaphile pretends that Crystal Skull and the hobbit trilogy are all of sudden masterpieces once Indy 5 and the amazon show come out
Free Guy is one of the worst movies ever made, it maliciously puts up a facade of anti-consumerism just to completely pull the rug out and become so pro-consumerism it essentially turns into a giant ad for Disney products.

Reminds of how Ready Player One is clearly a (badly written) story about a world falling to pieces because people's lives are so shitty that they'd rather escape into the virtual world and vote for the meme President of The Internet rather than the real-world President of their country, causing a downward spiral that's just making everything worse and worse, making people flee into their fantasy world more and more. Who cares if you're living in a high-rise made out of trailers if you've got a fancy place that looks like Frasier's apartment in your game world? As the backstory you've got the parallel story of an autistic man who spent his life hanging on to the comfort of old childhood memories and lifeless programs instead of taking the hard road where he had to challenge his autism to talk to people and get the girl he loved, something he regretted at the end of his life.
How did the mainstream react to this story? "OMG DID YOU READ THE BOOK WITH THE HECKIN' CHILDHOOD REFERENCES??? LET'S MAKE A MOVIE THAT'S EVEN MORE ABOUT THE REFERENCES AND THE OASIS IS JUST FINE AS LONG AS THERE'S NOT TOO MANY ADS AND PEOPLE TAKE ONE DAY OFF FROM IT I JUST WANT IT TO BE REAL SOOO BAD BROS!!!"
I gotta stop you there, because I've been down the same rabbit hole.
There is no satire in Ready Player One.
That really obvious, ham-handed satire also isn't satire. It's completely fricking serious. It's like the polar opposite of A Modest Proposal or Poe's Law or whatever.
Ernest Cline operates on zero layers of irony. The man drives around all day in a DeLorean covered in Ghostbusters stickers, wearing an Atari jacket festooned with Star Wars and Rush pins. Look at any picture of him and you can see his sheer, demented gaze. If you want an insight into his social life, consider that at the age of 44, he finally married a longtime "friend" - a fat goth woman who suddenly realized she had been in love with him all along shortly after he became a millionaire author.
Now, in the movie version, there may be some small measure of what you're imagining injected by Spielberg himself; the "get off the Internet for two days a week" afterthought in the ending comes to mind; but I need you to learn, as I once did, that the true mystery of Ernest Cline is that the man is an absolute Chris-Chan tier autist who through some bizarre contrivance of fate became a brief media sensation. It's not performance art. There is no self-reflection, there is no wink and nod, there is only a living Funko Pop.
I hesitate to even describe him as a Redditor. He's more like The Redditor: A Novel By Bret Easton Ellis.

It's the face of a man who knows he's always one second away from getting cancelled for his anti-autism writing, as soon as his fans realise he was telling people to NOT be autistic instead of cheering them on.
I've seen the pictures of him in a delorean and shit but I assumed he just changed his tune when he realised that he was becoming a millionaire thanks to autists who didn't realise he was criticising him, and so he turned himself into one himself. That still sounds more plausible to me than the idea that he managed to write a babby's first cyberpunk story without even meaning to.
>this idea is a fricking gold mine I am gonna make millions, because this country is full of database programmers and electronics engineers and they aren't getting the loving they so desperately need
That certainly sounds like he's got plans for taking advantage of nerds to get rich.

Modern poetry means

Once upon a time I cringed with everyone else at that video of two furries buying foam. Now I see it and wish I was capable of that level of open autistic glee, instead of being born down by the mental ruts created by a lifetime of irony, "hiding your powerlevel" and feigned disinterest because that's what was cool.
I read the book and Cline has massive Asperger's with very little writing talent that the movie only put a few bandaids on because it became an advertisement for member berries. RP1 was a test run for Stranger Things.
>I hesitate to even describe him as a Redditor. He's more like The Redditor: A Novel By Bret Easton Ellis.
aka he makes me seethe uncontrollably so much i can't even put together a cogent response
Yes and the story is clearly telling them to NOT just ignore their problems and bury themselves in pop culture garbage and online interactions because then their real life will just get worse.
You're not going to gaslight me today fricker. In the real world this is absolutely a contrarian opinion and even on here I see more people praise this piece of garbage than call it out for the disgusting advertisement disguised as a film it actually is. I am not exaggerating when I say this should be given a 0/10 score.
I had to deal with the same shit from Rian Johnson fans who still defend shitty movies like Looper.
It’s nothing but gaslighting from those morons, telling me that movies like Looper are misunderstood masterpieces that critcs hated (they didn’t).
i unironically enjoyed Free Guy. yes its reddit the movie but there's a bit more meat and weight to it underneath. i think its a good satire on game development, crunching, toxic work enviroments and all that stuff. Taika's character is so fricking obnoxious he actually comes full circle to actually being kind of funny, its better than his usual shtick at least,

Never watched it because its fans acted exactly like Arcane ones across Cinemaphile so I thought it's mental illness territory.
Looks like it has furries as well wtf.
You want to see a contrarian opinion, here’s one. I do not give a frick about interracial scenes in movies or tv. None of its real and they’re random actors I have no personal attachment to it. Don’t care if I see a black guy kiss a white woman or a white guy kiss a black girl
No one on here ever said that it wasn't great. They just pushed back on the people going IT IS THE MOST TERRIFYING MOVIE EVER MADE and poking fun at making a whole film where the point is "war is bad" as though that's some revelation
while i haven't seen Godzilla vs. Kong because my theatres were closed during the pandemic and I don't have any streaming services its on. I really fricking love the Monsterverse Legendary and WB made. Godzilla 2014, Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla King of the Monsters, all kino as frick.
Reddit is a much better place to discuss movies or shows. Cinemaphile is a complete fricking embarrassment. Yeah, I don’t come to Cinemaphile to discuss movies and I don’t think most users do. It’s a place where I can shitpost freely me I don’t really take anything here seriously.
You’re right though, if I want to read actual insight or discussion about a movie or tv show I’ll look it up on reddit, it’s annoying how try hard people are on that site but at least they stay on topic.
I come to Cinemaphile because it's the only place I can both have a cordial discussion about film and be called a troony loving Black person in the same thread. I will be damned if people like you take that away from me.
Friends was a good sitcom and had more funny moments than Cinemaphile lets on. Gets too much hate here. Up until the Rachel pregnant storyline, it was top tier
It had the best callback where Phoebe has clung to the only successful thing she can call her own (a shitty pop song) and then when she's reunited with her estranged father he sings the bedtime lullaby he made up for her and you see the emotional destruction in her face that even this is someone else's creation. It's brief but it's cruel.
I liked Blair Witch 2 better than the original, because at least Blair Witch 2 can be charitably described as "a movie" and not just "three buttholes wandering aimlessly with a camcorder for 90 minutes while constantly screaming the words Frick! and Josh!"
I hesitate to actually praise it but it's simply professionally done, which the original obviously was not. I think people might have got mad that it WASN'T more of the "raw viral" shit but as personal preference goes I think I'm not fond of the Found Footage genre. Just in terms of visual feel, it reminds me of Scream or Urban Legend, which I don't really mind because I have more of a fond sense of nostalgia towards that.
Also if you really want to ruin your enjoyment of it, the main character is a young Jeffrey Donovan, so just say "When you're a spy" literally every time he comes onscreen
refreshing take
I've never watched it but I find the original blair witch overrated so maybe I'll give it a go
Actually, lemme stop beating around the bush, just thought of this.
Your exact feelings about this will determine perfectly whether you'd like Blair Witch 2 or not. Be honest with yourself, I was.
Wolf of Wall Street is trash. Its gratuitious in a negative way. Its too long. Its not interesting. It treats viewers like they're moronic. Its just "omg that's so cool" again and again and again.
Its the equivalent of an infant being entertained by a mobile.
TDKR is really not that bad and has great moments >Batman coming back from retirement >the first fight with Bane >the prison climb >the Alfred and Bruce dynamic >the ending
I like James Gunn and Edgar Wright
I like watching Red Letter Media
I think Cumtown can be really funny (though I only listen to short clips)
I really liked everything everywhere all at once
I liked parasite
I usually just enjoy movies for what they are. I tend not to think about them too much and don't notice plotholes or plot conveniences most of the time if they aren't too blatant. I do however notice shitty directing, bad dialouge and shitty acting. Usually i am glad people point out things i missed and it does retroactively change how i think about a movie.
bein able to turn your brain off and just enjoy stuff can be helpful at times.
Idris is good but I lost a lot of respect for him when I found out he's a footgay who made Kate Winslet keep her socks on during their sex scene so that he wouldn't get genuinely aroused.
Video games absolutely have the capacity to become some of the most fun an interesting stories that can be put to film but are lamented and treated poorly by writers so we will never get anything of value out of what without question could be massive amounts of interesting and exciting worlds to explore through film.
I unironically think that visual novels can completely encapsulate Aristotle's Six Elements of Drama in a revolutionary way and has the potential to be among some of the highest forms of art and media
We just haven't had a visual novel that good come out
Yet
Yume Miru Kusuri satisfies these tenets and moreover if you complete all the routes an important part of the underlying theme is contextualized by revealed content. In fact it is possible to frick all of the heroines but doing so will end the VN prematurely with the MC having learned nothing.
As literature goes it openly tells you where it stands (an eroge that transcends porn but recognizes itself) but structurally it's flawless and got solid TL work Mizuki, Aeka then Nekoko in that order.
I played Yume Miru Kusuri when I was younger, like over a decade ago. Quite the experience at the time
Pretty kino, my favorite was the school council president girl (I know most people prefer the other girls though and I can understand why)
my opinions are my own
I'm the guy that tells you all it sucked like a shepherd herding sheep
my goal is to help speed up the movie industries collapse
I guess my hottest take is that movies stopped evolving as a form of art/expression in the 50s/60s at the latest and have little to no artistic value today besides being popcorn entertainment and vehicles for social engineering. Today, movies are even lower than video games in my opinion.
Showgirls was a satire of 1960s Doris Day/Rock Hudson "career girl makes it big in the city and makes her boss fall for her" movies but most critics didn't catch what Eszterhas was aiming for and thought it was just sleaze for its own sake.
>everyone says the movie sucked >lists reasons and insights that i missed or didn't notice on why it sucked >agree with them when i watch it again but keep what they say in mind
The stupidity/absurdity and overacting in live action anime doesn’t make the movies bad, it makes them ultra kino. Plebs are just getting filtered and aren’t realizing the kino they’re witnessing.
watching star trek next gen has made the original series near unwatchable for me. the old show is a lot more boring in comparison and shatner's performance is too fricking stupid at times to keep a straight face. its not supposed to be a comedy show
Christopher Nolan is a massive moron and has accidentally made maybe one good film. The Dark Knight is the most overrated superhero movie of all time and all it does is meander around Ledger's great performance.
that's not even contrarian, lots of people thought this; it's why it made very little money.
Of course, they are all wrong, but that's besides the point.
Snatch and Pulp Fiction are very similar, comparable movies and Snatch is objectively better in every way.
Guy Ritchie is more talented than footgayg Trentino
Its a shame Madonna turned his brain into mush so that he couldn't ever make another good movie
The Gentleman is pure kinography. I guess that’s my take for the thread.
Agreed.
Is it really contrarian to say one critical cult darling is better than another critical cult darling?
Snatch is unwatchable
I hope someone breaks into your home and saws your throat open
Rude
>Ghost Town starts playing
I agree snatch is mediocre but pulp fiction is one of the most overrated movies of all time. Sopranos tier overrated.
PF was a cultivated collection of set pieces reflecting what T felt was cool. He's Anno's worst habits in film rather than anime.
Lock Stock is much better than lock stock 2 aka the snatch
>dude muh piss filter movie is better
'no'
make a thread
everyone says it sucked
Threads is overrated, every poster here exaggerates how terrifying the movie is
High IQ
it's boomersoy horror
this. its the worstm ovie Cinemaphile tricked me into watching
Yep.
I think its a cool movie but people who say its “terrifying” are moronic.
This doesn't happen but morons who always have wrong "opinions" like to insist it does to make their shit taste seem less shitty.

I watched Kung Fu Hustle with English dub recently. It was trash, like, really bad, the English dub ruined jokes.
Fricking Robert is a dubgay
James Gunns only good movie was Super
i dont hate americans
explain
and yes I've watched these shows as a kid
The Night of the Hunter is not that good.
I thought Speed Racer was a pile of shit and I still think Cinemaphile is just memeing when they recommend it.
How does it shatter so easily? Aren't those things made out of, like, metal and stuff?
You have no idea how tall those things are, do you?
There's absolutely nothing wrong with POC actors, even if the character is originally white.
Considering the amount of hardship they had to go through bc of white people it's really the least you can do.

Hmmm let me think, did both black and white people get oppressed for well over 300 years or was it just one of those two that was the oppressor and literally used poeple as slaves?
Yes, but you see women of both races always had it worse so actually all roles should be replaced with black women.
I agree that women had it worse than cis men but still at any point in history a white woman was more privileged than a black one
>whites sold slaves to whites when the whites arrived in Africa to purchase slaves
No.
I'm talking about what happened once they were in the US
It's more about not treating whiteness as the default anymore

Too contrarian for vanilla town. Too vanilla for contrarian town.
>and it's pretty amazing what Marvel did with its cinematic shared universe, although phase 4 is doing its best to run it through the ground.
man thats how i feel. i want to have some hope with Ant-Man and GOTG cause they're my among my favourites in the MCU but yeah. hoping they'll coarse correct once the F4 and X-Men show up proper.
I genuinely think Fargo season 3 is the best season by miles
The best star wars of all time
I actually really liked that they didn't try to force some romance between the main characters
Star Wars is shit, kys.
Stop responding to obvious bait you fricking morons.
>not my opinion = bait
Philistine
I think I've got it down. Don't respond to him. I even clicked on him to add him to my list so I know who not to respond to. Thanks anon!
why do people keep posting this? what am i supposed to be looking for?
Green screen background, the table for instance
its funny cause palpatines office is one of the few actual sets in the movie but it looks like cgi.
>but it looks like cgi.
That's because it is. They CGI'd OVER the props, the same way they CGI'd over the stormtroopers that were actual extras in costume, to make all of them look uniform.
>a single creator who has mixed a blockbuster with expertimental cinema like him
what the frick is experimental about lucas?
>the six films)
SW is only the og trilogy, prequeltard
Why?
why do you call it the "og" then?
for me, it's
>made with mematic
The Thing is Carpenter’s only good movie. They Live had great ideas but that’s it.
Halloween?
I feel bad for someone who can't enjoy "Escape From New York"
The Godfather, and all mafia movies as a whole, are severely overrated
Kinda agree.
I watched Goodfellows, the Irishman and A Bronx Tale back to back and although they were all very good, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was watching the same damn movie three times.
I mean they're all Deniro movies. Watch something like Millers Crossing or Donnie Brasco
Watch more movies
they're nothing but wop power fantasies.
Uncut Gems blew uncut wiener, and I don't even hate Adam Sandler.
I thought Good Time was way better.
I still haven't watched it because I know it's going to be filled with israeli basketball Black person worship
Female protagonists are much more interesting than male.
this but only if they have a huge rack
Not necessarily, but they'd better be cute. Tomboys are perfect.
The Last Jedi is the strongest film of the nuStar Wars trilogy.
Let me develop a bit:
>The first episode was a carbon copy of A New Hope, but weaker in every way.
>I didn't even bother with Rise of Skywalker
While TLJ:
>Actually had a theme going (the death of heroism)
>Made Rey a little bit less of a Mary Sue while keeping her interesting
>Made Kylo more interesting and nuanced
>Had Luke still be a badass
>Had one memorable action scene (you know the one. Yeah sure the choreography is not HEMA-accurate but it looked great)
The deadly sin of the trilogy was not to keep going with this direction.
Although I'll admit that Holdo's plan made absolutely no sense
Inb4 "that's like bragging about being the smartest moron".
>>Made Rey a little bit less of a Mary Sue while keeping her interesting
Wrong
>Had Luke still be a badass
Wrong
Solid reasoning, but I still think The Force Awakens is a better structured movie, even if it's a rip-off.
The Finn/Poe/Rose/Holdo subplots are still the absolute lowest points of the ST
Well since I'm on Cinemaphile I'd have to say
Mulholland Drive SUCKED
Who the frick actually thinks that was a good movie, just because you want to sound smart with a Lynchian wiener in your mouth?
Michael Bay is a shitty storyteller and his action scenes suck no matter how hard Cinemaphile pretends otherwise. The guy even admitted he makes dumb movies for 10-12 year old boys
i like Michael Bay's comedy
Go to a doctor, anon. Your testosterone levels are dangerously low. If a movie can't intuitively be understood by a 12 year old, then it's pretentious bullshit.
True Detective S2 is good
Stop. Bad anon.
This hits close, I’m embarrassed to say but I was stupid to actuall care about getting Cinemaphile‘s approval on movies and tv shows
Me going out to the club
T /lgbt/
If we're talking about contrarian for Cinemaphile then my biggest one is that I don't ape out if I see a black person or troony on a show.
Chimping out in response to the chimping out is just as bad
Not even a little bit in the back of your mind? When the third Black person homosexual of the episode shows up, you aren't the least bit tired of how calculated the whole farce is?
no, I don't care, I'm not that sensitive
The ending of LOST was good and completely in line with the spiritual nature of show. S4 and s5 were good
It was kind of cheap of them to rip off the "waiting for the people who were there when the most important thing in your life happened to you, to pass on together" aspect from The Titanic, though.
Only God Forgives is a good movie.
What do you like about it? The wooden acting, the overwrought symbolism, or the ultimate pointlessness of a "evildoers smote by god BUT IN THAILAND" story?
For me, it was the cool colors
You don’t possess the strength to be here
>the cool colors
Fair enough the lighting was really good
He didn't really have to get it on. That was just an excuse for his psychopathic tendencies.
The Master is terribly overrated
Morbius > thor 4
>if x is bad then that means y is good
Too many morons here adopt this thinking and reason like children. Can’t wait until Cinemaphile pretends that Crystal Skull and the hobbit trilogy are all of sudden masterpieces once Indy 5 and the amazon show come out
Dancer in the Dark sucked balls
Free Guy is one of the worst movies ever made, it maliciously puts up a facade of anti-consumerism just to completely pull the rug out and become so pro-consumerism it essentially turns into a giant ad for Disney products.
This is not an unpopular or contrarian opinion on Cinemaphile or the real world
Reminds of how Ready Player One is clearly a (badly written) story about a world falling to pieces because people's lives are so shitty that they'd rather escape into the virtual world and vote for the meme President of The Internet rather than the real-world President of their country, causing a downward spiral that's just making everything worse and worse, making people flee into their fantasy world more and more.
That shit was scary.
Welcome to hell, dawg
Psychopath eyes
Why is he always so startled? Who keeps spooking him?
It's the face of a man who knows he's always one second away from getting cancelled for his anti-autism writing, as soon as his fans realise he was telling people to NOT be autistic instead of cheering them on.
I've seen the pictures of him in a delorean and shit but I assumed he just changed his tune when he realised that he was becoming a millionaire thanks to autists who didn't realise he was criticising him, and so he turned himself into one himself. That still sounds more plausible to me than the idea that he managed to write a babby's first cyberpunk story without even meaning to.
He wrote this in 2004.
https://web.archive.org/web/20040814163741/http://www.ernestcline.com/spokenword/npa.htm
>this idea is a fricking gold mine I am gonna make millions, because this country is full of database programmers and electronics engineers and they aren't getting the loving they so desperately need
That certainly sounds like he's got plans for taking advantage of nerds to get rich.
Wait is this supposed to be a poem?
Modern poetry means
hitting enter
at random as
you type up a
rant.
i couldn't get off the internet for 2 days a week bros
I'd just play SNES games all day
>He's more like The Redditor: A Novel By Bret Easton Ellis
Holly frick, you killed him.
My unpopular opinion is that I wish I was this guy
Once upon a time I cringed with everyone else at that video of two furries buying foam. Now I see it and wish I was capable of that level of open autistic glee, instead of being born down by the mental ruts created by a lifetime of irony, "hiding your powerlevel" and feigned disinterest because that's what was cool.
They disown it and one them is FTM now
Why would I care?
I read the book and Cline has massive Asperger's with very little writing talent that the movie only put a few bandaids on because it became an advertisement for member berries. RP1 was a test run for Stranger Things.
>I hesitate to even describe him as a Redditor. He's more like The Redditor: A Novel By Bret Easton Ellis.
aka he makes me seethe uncontrollably so much i can't even put together a cogent response
What?
Most people's lives are actual shit and they wish they could escape somewhere like that. I'm talking worlwide.
Yes and the story is clearly telling them to NOT just ignore their problems and bury themselves in pop culture garbage and online interactions because then their real life will just get worse.
I read the book, it's not that nuanced.
Taika's character is so fricking obnoxious he actually comes full circle to actually being kind of funny, its better than his usual shtick at least,
Just read an article on the horrors of gaming studios, don't consume a shitty movie.
see even in this very thread (
) there's still people on here praising it you gaslighting homosexual.
Treasure Planet is a much better movie than Spirited Away.
I could almost agree but Treasure Planet doesn't have the same timelessness. It's very obviously a product of its time
titan AE is better than treasure planet
Never watched it because its fans acted exactly like Arcane ones across Cinemaphile so I thought it's mental illness territory.
Looks like it has furries as well wtf.
Here, ill post the entire thread.
Your favorite film is le bad
Your least favorite film is le good
There now we can delete this.
You want to see a contrarian opinion, here’s one. I do not give a frick about interracial scenes in movies or tv. None of its real and they’re random actors I have no personal attachment to it. Don’t care if I see a black guy kiss a white woman or a white guy kiss a black girl
Aliens and Terminator 2 actually kinda suck, the originals were better
T1>>>>>>T2>Dark Fate>>>>>>>dog shit>>>>all the other Terminator movies
Alien resurrection is the best film in the series.
Come and See is a great movie and /misc/ seething won’t change that
Agreed. Probably one of the best war films ever.
No one on here ever said that it wasn't great. They just pushed back on the people going IT IS THE MOST TERRIFYING MOVIE EVER MADE and poking fun at making a whole film where the point is "war is bad" as though that's some revelation
Joan did nothing wrong, she had no obligation to stay loyal to Don. All he did was cost her and the company money. He was a liability past s5
Blade Runner is terrible.
2049 as well.
while i haven't seen Godzilla vs. Kong because my theatres were closed during the pandemic and I don't have any streaming services its on. I really fricking love the Monsterverse Legendary and WB made. Godzilla 2014, Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla King of the Monsters, all kino as frick.
Wong Kawaii only make cool films for youtube videos. He's vastly overrated.
Super is the worst superhero decunstruction movie.
Stranger Things is a 10/10 show
the trope where the villain is just the hero but evil is cool
Reddit is a much better place to discuss movies or shows. Cinemaphile is a complete fricking embarrassment. ANY thread about anything is 50% subhumans calling the OP a shill, 25% subhumans b***hing about blacks or women and 25% subhumans insulting each other. You homosexuals aren't even funny anymore, so there's not a single good meme either
Nice opinion, Black person.
>seething predditor
Go back
Reddit sucks because negativity about anything is highly discouraged.
That's a good thing though
It's brief but it's cruel.
despite having mostly shit entries
horror is the best genre
I liked Blair Witch 2 better than the original, because at least Blair Witch 2 can be charitably described as "a movie" and not just "three buttholes wandering aimlessly with a camcorder for 90 minutes while constantly screaming the words Frick! and Josh!"
refreshing take
I've never watched it but I find the original blair witch overrated so maybe I'll give it a go
I hesitate to actually praise it but it's simply professionally done, which the original obviously was not.
Actually, lemme stop beating around the bush, just thought of this.
Your exact feelings about this will determine perfectly whether you'd like Blair Witch 2 or not. Be honest with yourself, I was.
The Beach Boys were superior to the Beatles in all aspects
Even the Beatles admitted that
Wolf of Wall Street is trash. Its gratuitious in a negative way. Its too long. Its not interesting. It treats viewers like they're moronic. Its just "omg that's so cool" again and again and again.
Its the equivalent of an infant being entertained by a mobile.
I think that was mostly the intent of that film. It wasn't trying to glorify that lifestyle, kind of like Pain and Gain.
I enjoy television and film
shit taste
Oh yeah? What do you enjoy? Stage plays and radio? Fricking homosexual.
I enjoy my dreams.
Be careful who you share them with.
i watch tv and film while not enjoying it (or anything) like the rest of Cinemaphile
I will never become like you. I will continue to watch things and enjoy them without question unless something full blown moronic happens
Ghostbusters isn't funny in the slightest
Now listen close guys, the trick is to NOT respond to @171258060. Don't make the same mistake you did last time.
I hope you realize you're actual human garbage. Go back to Facebook.
I hope you realize that I don't care troony
>nooo you have to respond to my bait about Spielberg being a auteur or you're facebook!!!
See
Sex scenes are important to movies and shows. What’s a better to showcase lust or intimacy?
equilibrium is good and actually very high IQ.
campy, tongue in cheek films like Drop Dead Gorgeous and Best in Show are better films than Oscar bait dramas like Lady Bird and the like.
>Drop Dead Gorgeous
looks interesting
It's worth a watch
forgot my gif
TDKR is really not that bad and has great moments
>Batman coming back from retirement
>the first fight with Bane
>the prison climb
>the Alfred and Bruce dynamic
>the ending
Alfred is a bawd who consistently lied and falsified evidence to keep his job
Tarkovsky sucks.
If I wanted to hear some hysterical slav cry about his relationship with god I'd just browse 2ch.hk.
I like James Gunn and Edgar Wright
I like watching Red Letter Media
I think Cumtown can be really funny (though I only listen to short clips)
I really liked everything everywhere all at once
I liked parasite
Big Trouble in Little China is John Carpenter's best film.
I'd say it's top five for most people, I don't think that's an uncommon opinion.
It's aged better than most of his films
I usually just enjoy movies for what they are. I tend not to think about them too much and don't notice plotholes or plot conveniences most of the time if they aren't too blatant. I do however notice shitty directing, bad dialouge and shitty acting. Usually i am glad people point out things i missed and it does retroactively change how i think about a movie.
bein able to turn your brain off and just enjoy stuff can be helpful at times.
The Nolan Batman movies didn't just suck, they ruined just about all Batman media for the foreseeable future.
John Wick is the best action movie of the 21st century
Peppa Pig is the greatest TV show. Nothing can change my mind.
How the frick do her eyes work
Their faces are little chode penises lmao how did they get away with it?
t. quentin tarantino
Breaking Bad is fricking ridiculous and I can't believe it's memed as the best show of all time when it's almost on the same level as Sons of Anarchy.
Idris Elba is a legitimately good actor, all the memes kinda ruined him. Too bad he hardly picks anything good to star in, must have a shit agent
Idris is good but I lost a lot of respect for him when I found out he's a footgay who made Kate Winslet keep her socks on during their sex scene so that he wouldn't get genuinely aroused.
I would say that's firm, but fair.
Nolan makes movies that have 0 soul
Raimi's Spiderman will always be the best capeshit (better than Batman Trilogy by a mile)
@171259492
See @171254448
Breaking Bad is as mediocre as these kind of shows get
Video games absolutely have the capacity to become some of the most fun an interesting stories that can be put to film but are lamented and treated poorly by writers so we will never get anything of value out of what without question could be massive amounts of interesting and exciting worlds to explore through film.
>Mizuki first
good taste
I played Yume Miru Kusuri when I was younger, like over a decade ago. Quite the experience at the time
Pretty kino, my favorite was the school council president girl (I know most people prefer the other girls though and I can understand why)
The Dark Knight fricking sucks, and heath ledger is a terrible Joker
Natural Born Killers is the best English language film shot in America.
I will never be convinced that this movie was not trash.
i think Cinemaphile is a well moderated board
Janitors deserve tips.
my opinions are my own
I'm the guy that tells you all it sucked like a shepherd herding sheep
my goal is to help speed up the movie industries collapse
Marvel movies were fun only for the first 2 phases
Movies with low stakes are objectively shit
God Father is a boring, lame movie that didnt need to be 5 fricking hours long. Scarface is also boring
I think you could cut I & II down to a solid film cutting down the Sicily scenes and removing the flashback shit entirely.
Everything Everywhere All At Once is my favorite movie of the year so far despite the cringe shit in it and I will not be dissuaded.
Same. I need to rewatch it first, but I think it will be one of my favorite movies of all time.
I guess my hottest take is that movies stopped evolving as a form of art/expression in the 50s/60s at the latest and have little to no artistic value today besides being popcorn entertainment and vehicles for social engineering. Today, movies are even lower than video games in my opinion.
1970s and we're in agreement. Spielberg and Lucas destroyed the medium in the US.
How a movie resonates with you emotionally is more important than any other aspect of filmmaking
Showgirls was a satire of 1960s Doris Day/Rock Hudson "career girl makes it big in the city and makes her boss fall for her" movies but most critics didn't catch what Eszterhas was aiming for and thought it was just sleaze for its own sake.
>everyone says the movie sucked
>lists reasons and insights that i missed or didn't notice on why it sucked
>agree with them when i watch it again but keep what they say in mind
The stupidity/absurdity and overacting in live action anime doesn’t make the movies bad, it makes them ultra kino. Plebs are just getting filtered and aren’t realizing the kino they’re witnessing.
Jump scares are based. If you’re a weak pussy that gets scared by jump scares then that’s your problem.
I liked Jurassic World Dominion
I liked Resident Evil (netflix)
I LIKE MINIONS
AHHHH
watching star trek next gen has made the original series near unwatchable for me. the old show is a lot more boring in comparison and shatner's performance is too fricking stupid at times to keep a straight face. its not supposed to be a comedy show
Alien 3's extended edition is the best in the series, followed by Alien and then Aliens. All fantastic films though.
I liked what the last Jedi was trying to do
Fellowship of the Ring was so shit I didn't even bother watching the other two
Breaking Bad is garbage
The World's End is the best Cornetto movie by far and Hot Fuzz is lame
Ready Player One was good
Skyfall is the best Bond movie
Alcoholic loser confirmed.
LOTR is grossly overrated to be fair but I still enjoy it
No Way Home was a truly god awful movie, easily the worst one Marvel has ever produced.
I did not care for the Godfather
I don't like most of Alien. I appreciate the vision and the work that went into it but I was consistently bored
They both have some shitty movies but on average, Gamera outclasses Godzilla by a country mile.
I've never understood that appeal of Star Wars or its status as a pop culture darling.
Literally me
Christopher Nolan is a massive moron and has accidentally made maybe one good film. The Dark Knight is the most overrated superhero movie of all time and all it does is meander around Ledger's great performance.
This was one of the most boring movies I’ve ever seen. I’ve literally never finished it. Made it half way through and gave up.
that's not even contrarian, lots of people thought this; it's why it made very little money.
Of course, they are all wrong, but that's besides the point.
jumper was a good movie
without any hyperbole, this is the worst movie I've ever seen. absolutely baffled that this pile of shit is highly regarded.
Yeah, I agree with you there. I saw it because of all the praise and jesus christ, what a waste of my fricking time
This was the worst movie Cinemaphile tricked me into watching.
anime is shit
