Maybe you're a moron and maybe you should read REAL Conan stories instead of Marvel comics.

He's not an butthole in the slightest. If anything he's a complete whiteknight half the time taking his rage out on unrelated boyfriends instead of b***hes who rat him out.

He treats all of his "friends" like they're henchmen to him

Absolutely not true. King Conan was anguished and even fricked up defending himself because he didn't want to kill one of his best mates who was a poet - because he considered the craft to be more important to the world long term.

Brother, I've read all of the original stories too and you're reaching hard trying to call him a white knight. Even in his kingship he had legitimate criticisms outside of his conspirators, even though I think objectively his rule was best for Aquilonia. Conan was always a ruthless warlord and bandit who killed and stole for his own pleasure and he wasn't very effective as an administrator

I was never arguing he was a good ruler - just that he wasn't a bloodthirsty moron. He's always been cooperative even if ambitious but violence is his trade.
I'm not reaching at all for the white knight thing either. I can't recall the name of the short but there's one where his then girl sells him out for a bunch of cash. He gets arrested and eventually frees himself and instead of killing her he throws her in mud and kills her new boyfriend. Seems like a reverse of what should have happened. If he was as bad as people described him he'd have slaughtered her family, instead he fails to even slaughter her (which she had coming).

        >Maybe you're a moron and maybe you should read REAL Conan stories instead of Marvel comics.

Comic Conan was honestly a bit cleaned up compared to book Conan. Depending where he was in time anyways. There were points where he just straight up killed dudes for smack talk. And we don't really get a lot of time focusing on it but the man was a pirate multiple times in his life. We may not see him doing any bad shit. But he's done bad shit.

There's no moral difference between piracy and soldiering. The only practical difference is how legitimized one finds the group Conan is killing for. As a freebooter he got along with his brothers on the sea and frequently became captain either due to sheer force of personality or through violent challenge.

Conan isn't malicious at all. He just has a knightly morality - which all leaders and aristocrats have to this day. He could be much more spiteful or malicious, it's well within his power - but he isn't.

Don't think he's ever presented as a hero nor does he try to act like one. He just wants to fight and frick hot girls.

Monsterverse Godzilla is pretty much just a kaiju Conan when you think about it. Just think of would-be Alphas as wizards.

He's not without his own moral code but they don't introduce him as "A thief, a reaver, a slayer" etc because he's especially friendly.

What's the difference between Savage Sword Of Conan and Conan The Barbarian? Are they from different companies that got the rights for Conan at the same time or just spin-offs?

You are talking about multiple books that have exactly the same names, but if you're talking about the classical books, they were both by Marvel, but Conan the Barbarian was the regular american-size colored book they published, and the Savage Sword of Conan was a book they decided to publish later in B&W and in magazine format (slightly larger) in order to bypass the Comics Code Authority (arguing that this publication was not a comic book, but a "magazine") and manage to publish darker, uncensored stories that contained graphic violence and nudity, and market it to an adult public. They had the same creative team, tho, for most of its time spam. Later, when Marvel reacquired the rights, they also published a Conan the Barbarian and a Savage Sword, both colored, but the first had a steady creative team while the other had a variety of guest writers and artists, if I'm not mistaken. Finally, Titan books, the current rights holders, are also publishing both books, with The Barbarian being the main book, and Savage Sword having guest writers/artists and being B&W again.

To be fair he's violent the same way as Guts from Berserk. When he is under attack he will defend himself. He killed a lot of people because the world where he lives in is particulary violent, especially for travellers and adventurers.

I never see a story of him bullying people or killing for nothing. He has his own proper moral code. He suffered a lot of shit too and have seen many abominations who should have never been awakened.

                1. Conan wasn't in his right mind exhausted from battle near dead.
                2. Atila is the villain that uses her wiles to tease dying men.

You mean the story where said daughter tempts and bewitches Conan in order to lure him to his death only to realize she's bit off more than she can chew? Frick you. Story wasn't even printed in Howard's life.

Ignore the Attila apologist. He has outed himself. Even if it was as he portrays it's one incident in a lifetime of giving women far more slack than they sometimes deserve. Anyone who thinks Conan isn't kind to women is moronic or doggedly fixed on viewing him through a modern lens - which would be a condemnation on most characters in the setting then making the question worthless to begin with

      >When he is under attack he will defend himself
I mean, no, he kills people for a living. There's only a few instances of Conan making a living through non-violent means such as regency and thieving. He's almost always otherwise a raider, sellsword, soldier or pirate.
      He's not a ninja turtle.

I'll check it out but that image doesn't look to my tastes. For starters they've got Conan in furs and loin cloths when he was almost always dressed appropriately for whichever setting he found himself. He was a savage, not a moron.
The modern take on Conan feels like looking at Genndy's caveman cartoon. Two Gun Bob's legacy is kind of in taters - but I suppose that started with Krull getting rejected.
