I've just seen this at the cinema and not only was it REALLY bad, I never believed you guys when you said that only nintendie-neckbeard-funko-soibois watch cape shit. I was always under the impression that, while it's not kino, it's always some quality time with friends, even if you're just joking about how shit it was.

It's never been that bad in my country, I assumed it was one of those USA problems, but I legit sat next to several of those exact people you guys kept quoting. I was uncomfy the entire length of the movie sitting between all those soibois laughing at the low-hanging-fruit jokes in that movie.

that was my last cape shit flick.

has anyone seen both this AND ragnarok?

OP here, yes. I liked Ragnarok because it actually changed something. Asgard broke and that was nice.

Why do you sound so desperate for /our/ validation anon? You wouldn't care enough to post this shit if you truly believed it yourself.

Believe me senpai, nobody here would validate me IRL. I have everything you incels dream of. I don't care for your validation. It's void the moment this thread closes, I just wanted to see if there are people out there that feel the same. Like they somewhat liked capeshit but this was the tipping point.

I already knew I wouldn't care for this one because I didn't much care for Ragnarok. It revealed tgat Tahiti has absolutely zero respect for the characters, the lore, and will undercut any whiff of gravitas with shallow humor. I have nothing against fun movies or comedies, but Thor is not a comedic character. He's actually supposed to stand for something. For all the jerkoffs out there(Tahiti no doubt among them) who obnoxiously dismiss comics characters as power fantasies, they reveal how poor their grasp of the characters really is every time they give us exactly that - shallow, meaningless, effects-driven spectacle devoid of meaning, but filled with empty "awesome" scenes.

Comics might largely be kids/YA stories, but it might behoov them to remember that those stories are supposed to inspire that crowd.

Very true. I can't believe the confidence required to manufacture such a soulless piece of trash and still deliver it with such smugness. I left the theatre feeling nothing but disgust at everything that had to come together to produce this perfectly horrendous film.

          >shallow, meaningless.... empty awesome scenes
Nice, going to watch the movie then. Love myself some flick with no depth just to tune out from reality/work etc.
I'm not looking to get into politics and philo during mindless entertainment

You're not actually going to watch it. You have far too much shitposting to do.

Asgard broke but it was a completely meaningless event. If you ask anyone what they though of Ragnarok they would tell you it was fricking hilarious. Nothing fricking mattered in Ragnarok because the whole movie is treated as a joke. Now you're getting a taste of your own medicine.

Agreed. I feel dirty for having funded this shit even if it only served as an excuse to spend an evening at the cinema with my mates.

Everything was just awful. Zero depth, just cringy millennial "self-aware" quips and combat porn void of anything even resembling suspense. The intro got my hopes up (I wasn't aware that Christian Bale would be the villain going into it), but even with an intriguing theme like theodicy it still managed to do literally nothing with it. Just "I'm evil I wanna kill the heckin wholesome nu-Asgardian mulatto kids because my heart is filled with hate or whatever". I fooled myself into thinking that Mr. Waititi-Cohen showed some self-awareness during the literal theme park theater in New Asgard, but the rest of the movie thoroughly disproved that.

This is the definitive Anti-Kino. Do not watch.

If OP was one of us, he wouldn't have even watched this garbage. This is a Disney shill thread trying to sell the movie as SO BAD YOU HAVE TO WATCH IT!

    agreed.

Bale stood out because he acted well but at the same time he was so out of place. This dude going through existential crisis while they make JUDIEE FONSTER AMIRITE jokes in the next scene...

The whole movie was probably cut by Taika on crack or smthing, premature ejaculation characterizes it pretty well. No build up just shitty payoffs.

The contrast between Christian Bale's magnificent performance and the core trio's abysmal lines was unfortunately the only thing in the movie worthy of a grin.

Bale actually brought the movie down because every scene he was in made me think of better movies.

Kek this. Bale is one of my favorite actors so I enjoy this part of his career where he does kino and dips into capeshit to embarrass everyone before leaving.

It's funny I could tell you weren't American just from the grammar of your first sentence. An American would have used the simple past "I just saw this at the cinema" while the use of the present perfect is more a British English thing

What is the MCU even building to at this point? All the movies are just CGI vomit with a two minute post credit scene that hints at either shitty obscure comic character voiced by le funny comedian or multiverse variants. They don’t even have a grand villain anymore, the most we get is just “muh multiverse is coming! Get excited for more worthless slop!”
