I almost quit early season 1 but it's worth it for season 4 And 5. 5 might be my favorite season of suspense tv ever. True detective S1 comes close but it's more noir than action thriller.

I'm currently watching and in the later seasons, and I kinda miss those days of Kim, and not just because she's hot. They'd use her to do very moronic things to advance the plot and could get away with it because teenagers are dumbasses, but in her absence they have to resort to people doing very uncharacteristic things and/or getting overly emotional and doing dumb shit to throw speedbumps/force dead ends in investigations and prolong the plot. And when that's not enough, just throw a traitor out there real quick to do it instead. Goddamn I roll my eyes every time there's a fricking traitor to the US fricking things up, there are so many

reminder that nina being a mole made absolutely zero sense whatsoever and opened a series-long can of worms of pointless twists for the sake of shock value (love the show but still)
I don't think it made zero sense, she just wasn't exclusively a mole for king koopa. She'd take any job that pays as long as it didn't compromise her position at CTU, but she dun goofed when she was assured Jack would be killed and of course he wasn't. Chalk it up to an emotional mistake since she was still seething that she wasn't getting the D anymore from him.
S1 really handled the traitor thing well, there were only the two and they actually kept you guessing for a while. And I especially loved how they made the first one feel like a moron when asking her how much she was being paid. But at some point they just started making one in every three characters a very obvious traitor in waiting

The end result was a dead Terri so there can be no complaining about the Nina tweest. She was easily the worst character in the show, and only got surpassed by Sherry because Sherry had more time to get even worse
