This has been every Mission Impossible film since after Ghost Protocol for me, just a bunch of shit happening and I don't care about any of it, same with modern Nolan films.

Two of them are not from any previous films, the other two are. You're moronic if you don't remember the two who were.

    >Gabriel
Never appeared in any of the other films, they made his backstory and relationship to Ethan pretty clear.
    >Ilsa
Appeared in the last two films.
    >Alanna
    Appeared in Fallout.
    >Paris
First appearance is in this film.

Do you have dementia or did you browse Ticktock while you had the other films on?

Wasn't clear to me at all. Who the frick was the girl who died and what the frick happened?

Doesn't matter. They frame it as he killed one of his close colleagues during one of his missions. They give you just enough to know why Ethan is spooked by him.

this movie was like 20 minutes of cool stuff inside 2 hours of lethargic bloat. thank xenu for Hayley Atwell and those tight business pants on the big screen, which held my rapt attention for the full duration.
I also could not figure out why the Asian lady was in the movie

it is probably some dark event from Ethan's past but I honestly challenge the filmmakers to find ANY audience member who FRICKING CARES about that at all.

I thought he was a pretty good villain. Not as memorable as Cavill or Phillip Seymour Hoffman, but still good.

He is a garbage character and one of the many reasons why this film sucks. I don't care about how or why IMF recruited him.

That's your opinion, they needed to give Ethan a reason to be more aggressive about catching him and whether or not he's going to kill him (he won't, but it's how they keep audiences on their toes for whether or not they can reach the submarine). His performance was also pretty good.
Now there's a better reason to dislike him as a villain since he killed Ilsa.
            >inb4 I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE SIDE CHARACTERS
Probably because you don't even remember watching any of the previous films, if you are OP.

Just remove Gabriel entirely, the only reason why he's in the film is because AI homosexualry doesn't work as a villain.
              >Probably because you don't even remember watching any of the previous films, if you are OP.
OP is clearly a mentally moronic homosexual who spends the entirety of his time on a phone instead of watching films as he doesn't remember Ilsa despite her being in the two prior films, and naked in one.

I'm the same way. If a movie's got more than five people I just see five people and take it frame by frame. I don't know who the frick spoke to who or why the frick x is chasing y. All I know is these people are talking and I'm trying to figure out what the frick they're saying right now has to do with anything else I saw in the movie up to that point.

The way Gabriel just shows up in the story I assumed "oh he's a guy from one of the other movies" because they sure as shit don't act like he's this new character you've never seen before. There's a guy named Zola who Tom Cruise knows by name and I'm like "who" and I looked it up and he was in Fallout. Do they really expect people to keep track of literally who's from previous movies that came out 4 or 5 years ago?

Zola and the sister are pretty important to the Fallout plot, moron.

what the frick, take your meds. The blond b***h at the left is a spy, b***h has been on like 3 movies, has some kind of romantic interest on Ethan and even told him to escape and frick like rabbits.
b***h on left corner is the b***h who made deals with him and some kind of bridge in that movie with Henry Cavill, man, that blond prostitute was the easiest guess of all.
homie, do you sleep when you see this movies? do you have a neurological impairment that dont let you recognize faces? what the frick.

I don't remember boring, post-wall holes who don't leave a lasting impression because women are charisma voids and only get put in movies as eye candy which is why you can name the number of actresses over 40 who still act in blockbuster movies on one hand.

Everything happens against a lifeless background, like in 2d horizontal scroll action vydia. We just know there is no meaning and nothing is at stake. Police are a mild nuisance that just stands idly by occasionally being placed at random road blocks where the blaring orchestral music tries to get a reaction out of the audience. Then some random character we don't give two shits for dies only to come back later in a sequel in a convoluted way that a 5 yo wouldn't evet believe. Frick this goyslop. Frick that deranged expressionless old gay.
