Jailbroken Firestick: Worth it?

I have a Roku TV. I don't pay for any services.
Looking at a "fully loaded" jailbroken Firestick for $90. Comes with Kodi, Cinema, and more already set up.
I have never used a Firestick before.
Is this worth it? Do I need to have a VPN to use it without getting facefricked by my ISP?
Thanks.

I have a chromecast ultra for $60 and a synology 2 drive 8tb nas for $2000. I use the chromecast more but the nas is the better long term investment

This is why you don't pirate films, people. $5 Blu-rays are literally cheaper with better

I pirated over 3000 tv shows and films. The nas is an investment in not losing them.

Jesus. Just get a HDMI cable for your laptop you clowns.

Roku can read many MKVs natively now, anon.

Saying something can play MKV's doesn't make sense. MKV 's can contain literally every kind of codec.

Why would anybody want to watch Mortal Kombat videos 24/7

It's the most common container format for torrents or even Archive.org anymore and Roku actually treats it like it's real now. Not fully compatible, but moreso than PS3.

Are there better media players than Roku's own built-in one? I loaded a movie the other day and the audio track defaulted to the director's commentary with no obvious way to change it.

    Because you're fricking stupid.
    >Is this worth it?
No. They overheat and explode. Should've purchased an android box or plugged your PC in to your TV instead, dumbass. Better yet, route your phone + cast videos.

I plug my laptop into my TV to stream movies and shows off of various sites, but they never last long. I also only have a couple that work any more. Was thinking Kodi and Cinema may be more expansive and reliable. As well as convenient.
Also willing to take good recs for streaming sites to watch shit off of via HDMI cable + wireless mouse & keyboard from my couch.

You don't jailbreak a fire tv. You enable developer mode and install apks using adblink. I really like https://smarttubeapp.github.io/.
You won't need a vpn unless one of the apps uses torrents. I've never used a vpn with my fire tv so I can't recommend one.
You should also install https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/firefox-android/releases/tag/fenix-v124.2.0. You can get one of these https://www.amazon.com/AuviPal-Powered-Adapter-Charging-Streaming/dp/B07TX8FY6W and attach and air mouse.
Make sure you get the fire tv stick 4k max.

It takes some effort but it's a seamless way to watch pirated content and switch to disney+ for normie content. Apps like https://kodi.tv/download/android/ will play movies from a file server.
The fire tv stick uses 32 bit android so keep that in mind when you download apps.

I unironically still don't understand what a jailbroken firestick, etc. actually does even after all these years. Does it let you watch Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc shows for free without accounts?
