WB can't stop getting in their own way
Who's the most inept studio in Hollywood? WB's got to at least be in the running, right?
It's a close competition between WB and Disney. Yes WB had Barbie but literally nothing else they released this year made more than $300m, and they had several bombs. Disney's major bomb Elemental was able to rebound enough to break even, but it has solidifed Pixar as being streaming only movies for the near future.
Which studio made more than disney and WB this year?
Universal. Mario and Oppenheimer made a combined $2.3 billion on a 200 million budget. Fast X also made 700 million but it flopped due to it's huge budget.
>the two most successful studios are incompetent because I didn’t like phase four or flash
Lol
>Disney and WB aren't incompetent because le chuds hate Phase 4 and Flash
lol
how is this news?
Creatives have to deal with executive oversight .
Sky is fricking blue
OP sucks wieners
>Creatives have to deal with executive oversight
Gunn and Safran run DC as CEOs, they're not merely directors or producers
DC is an extremely public facing subsidiary of a subsidiary which directly effects the bottom line of its owners.
Just tell me you’ve never so much as worked in an office, why don’t you
WB is still the most successful in the history of the world. That being said they micromanage for too much over the last twenty years. They should be able to see this considering their biggest money makers have been cheaper to make and thus give creators more freedom.
>DC is an extremely public facing subsidiary of a subsidiary which directly effects the bottom line of its owners.
So is Marvel but they still have one guy running everything, and it worked out pretty well for 11 years.
Yeah no shit.
It's just cramming one more cook into an already overcrowded kitchen.
Which ones?
Casey Blays (CEO of HBO and Max since 2020)
Sarah Aubrey (has her hands in a lot of Max shit but notably produced Peacemaker and Doom Patrol)
Casey Bloys should be looking at continuing the Snyderverse considering ZSJL was a big hit overall.
>ZSJL was a big hit overall.
WB doesn't think so. They regret making it.
Doesn't matter. People want more of that universe.
Well thats certainly not happening now.
Indians are not people
They only regret that ZSJL exposed their incompetence.
More than that. They said only 30-some percent of people who started watching it (or got HBO Max to watch it) actually finished the thing. They say it also only "further entrenched the fanbase against WB studios and their other projects". The whole thing is a bad memory for them.
People saw how moronic WB execs were with the changes they made in the theatrical version and how they tried to turn the DCEU into MCU-lite. No shit the fanbase turned against them.
All the shit they fed to the trades about bots and muh toxic fanbase was gay damage control. They got what they fricking deserved with the Hamadaverse crashing and burning.
Snyder's 4 hour movie being in theaters would have done worse than Josstice League. It really says something that this moron needed double the normal theatrical length to make a decent movie.
>4 hour boring movie
You realize they changed it because it was testing horribly with audiences right?
Everyone who has seen the Snyder cut says it's far superior to the garbage Whedon made AND they could have easily cut it into two 2 hour moviess since there's a ssecondary climax in the middle.
It wasn't a big hit, they lost 70 million on it.
Except it wasn’t. Why are you lying?
the dogshitverse was greenlight because the movie was already done and max had no content so cope
It wasn't done, they spent another 20 million on the Snyder cut.
Oh no they’re gonna force that antichrist programming with Superman again.
So is DC comic higher ups going to still place mandates on the movies or?
They never did lol. DC has never had ANY power over WB decisions. Gun was the first time someone was installed that was claimed to have that power and it’s clear he doesn’t.
Frankly he shouldn’t so I’m happy. Nobody at DC is any more protective or aware of the characters than the people at WB. those fricks let Didio, Lee and Nelson destroy everything in 2011 and then continue to do so for a decade.
Then who the frick is the one forcing in the Jesus symbolism with Superman? It’s been there since the early comics, popping up as early as Smallville.
>Then who the frick is the one forcing in the Jesus symbolism with Superman?
~~*they*~~.
the same guys that make a ~~*WW*~~ save a palestinian kid. oh the mockers
Oh man what is wrong with DC and their characters.
It’s amazing with how ass Marvel and Disney are these days, DC and WB find a way to go even lower.
Welp, theres your death knell.
Can’t wait for WB to interfere with Gunn’s vision because Superman didn’t make a gajillion dollars and chase Gunn away.
And demand reshoots, and frick with the trailers...history will repeat.
Also, none of the Snyder cast is coming back, except for Momoa as Lobo.
And Cena as Peacemaker.
Cena isn't Snyder
Why aren't Max Executives looking at either releasing the Ayer Cut or doing A Knightmare timeline mini series?
BRAVO WARNER!
This is how television has always worked. A studio (in this case, DC Studios) produces a show, and a network (in this case, Max) picks it up and airs it. The Marvel arrangement where Feige is given billions of dollars to make whatever TV shows he wants and Disney+ is powerless to stop him from filling their platform with shit is extremely rare
Why the frick would you want Gunn of all people to have total control over DC movies? He can't write anything but cringe comedy.
