>James Gunn thinks nerds will cream themselves over using the Kingdom Come shield in his movie
>backfires and they end up b***hing about it not making sense for an early Superman to be using this S
Oh Jimmy. It's going to be a long 15 months for you.

So is Legacy adapting Truth Justice and the American Way - which is about Superman never faltering and always being right against some cringe strawmen
or Kingdom Come - which is about Superman giving up for years and almost becoming Injustice before an old man won an argument with him how Supers are all out of touch?
A little of column A, a little of column B.
To give Gunn some credit I can't see him making Jenny Sparks as much of a baby as Manchester Black was at the end of that story. I also don't see The Authority falling for Superman acting evil.
You put a lot of faith in some Z listers not getting lobotomied to fit wtf the plot needs to be anon.
The Authority are going to be in several movies
I'm struggling to believe that Gunn is actually going to film THIS movie, in Zaslav's broke Cancelverse.
I still think this is an attempt to market the studio to a buyer. Sure, they made their first hundred million streaming over a quarter, but they lost most of a billion dollars flopping a half dozen movies.
Announcing as thousand castings for a hundred movies sounds like a pitch, unless Elon Musk is now their secret sugar-daddy.
If they had announced just another try at Superman, I would believe it. But they are trying to sell me on too much for a studio 50 billion in the hole.
Superman Legacy will be the next tax write-off
At least A-listers have finally gotten the message that DC movies are career poison, and not Alternate-MCU. Sony is of course back-alley career abortion MCU.
>If they had announced just another try at Superman, I would believe it.
Yeah I agree. The reason they didn't do that is because they wanted WB's stock price to go up, but of course it didn't. "Invest in us, we have a new 10 year plan for DC before we have a single good movie in this universe!"
I guarantee none of these movies or tv shows are happening outside of Superman and Supergirl.
Can't a cape film adapt more than one storyline? That's what No Way Home did.
No Way Home is kept together by fanservice, something DC isn't able to do because most of their movies are trash not meant to be remembered.
Mixture of both seems obvious. However it's doing the story in reverse. It's a younger Superman coming into a world where edgy grimdark takes on superheroes are much more accepted. I'm not saying it's a genius plot but I doubt Gunn is going to play it as straight forward as everyone think he will.
I think what Gunn is doing is making his DC universe the one where it will end on Kingdom Come and I feel like this may be why he replaced Cavill and is so adamant about keeping the actors the same. He wants to show passage of time and eventually get to the old man Superman in Kingdom Come with the actor he picked.
Doesn't seem that far fetched
Total morons
I see no issue with using it. I'd rather them keep it simple than over design it like the MOS one
Looks stupid in red and yellow
Alex Ross better get paid
Of course he won't
not gonna happened thats the same reason why he dont work with DC these days
Literally the only thing that matters is if he’s in a classic costume with trunks. No seems, no redesign. Same shit from TAS, Fleischer, Donner ect. Just the normal costume. No bullshitntextures or seams or patterns or anything.
>pretends a problem exists
oh boy!!
truly amusing to watch Gunn and Superfans arguing about a design that means literally nothing to the vast majority of people beyond "Superman's S"
nobody gives a shit and they're destroying themselves over it, it's impressive in its way
As long as they don't do Man of Steel's "not an S" bullshit, I'm fine.
The original symbol is ugly. This new one looks better. More modern.
It barely looks like an S and that's the point, Superman started wearing that symbol when he became older and reclusive towards humanity.
A younger, happier Clark with "a sense of humor" wouldn't be wearing that version of the shield. It's like adapting Adam West Batman but giving him the TDKR design.
It hasn't literally been an S for like, longer than most of us have been alive. Ever since the movie it's supposed to be his family's coat of arms, or some other Kryptonian symbol that just looks like an S.
This looks completely fine from that perspective. Still identifiable as an S, but makes its origin more believable and less absurd through its slight abstraction. Don't be an autist, this looks completely fine.
James Gunn was probably one of the loudest defenders of Harley's characterization from 2013-2023
You mean in DCEU harley or classic harley?
Both since their characters are synergized
Not classic, but DCEU and modern, didn't notice you put classic there.
But I do think Gaga's Harley is a toe dip back into more classic traits, it's been a long time since we saw a Harley with a heart
>But I do think Gaga's Harley is a toe dip back into more classic traits
How could you possibly think this? Jfc I hate you normies.
Because this is the first time in like 10 years that Harley has compassion, yet you have the gaul to say a stronk womyn scenegirl roastie is somehow her ideal characterization
>Because this is the first time in like 10 years that Harley has compassion
You're basing this on nothing.
You're saying Modern girlboss Harley is good because "gaga gey"
Just admit to being a Margot stan
>You're saying Modern girlboss Harley is good
I never said shit you homosexual, you're assuming I did. I don't like the post New 52 Harley at all but that doesn't mean Joker 2 Harley is automatically going to be close to her original personality.
Yo have faith in Gunn to make a good Harley after Suicide Squad?
>Ever since the movie it's supposed to be his family's coat of arms
Yeah I don't care about that shitty movie, it's an S.
>Still identifiable as an S, but makes its origin more believable and less absurd through its slight abstraction
How is it less absurd than a normal S? It looks like a slash line until you look more closesly, which fits older jaded Superman.
And what does this mean for Kara's shield, will it also have the Kingdom Come design? That would be real stupid.
I dare you to mame me one... ONE live-action superhero movie that was ever accurate to the continuity/canon of the comics.
Bitches on the internet will always find a way to whine about something.
Justice League was fricking shit, that was pretty accurate to the comics
Aside from the ending, watchmen, and 300 was pretty lose. Aside from the lack of nudity sinc city 1 was pretty close.
Watchmen was not close. It adapted a few panels accurately and that's it.
Oh frick off you homosexual. I’m so sick of you “h-he used slow mo and made it an action movie” homosexuals who never even read the comic until there was a movie in the first place. Blow your homosexual ass brains out.
>I’m so sick of you “h-he used slow mo and made it an action movie”
You're sick of people who are right? Okay. You hear it all the time because it's the simple truth.
>ONE live-action superhero movie that was ever accurate to the continuity/canon of the comics
Donner's Superman
Not at all.
Yes it was
>Donner's Superman
so a lanklet Superman that can reverse time? No!
>He didn't read silver age Action Comics
Donner openly talks about how much the movie changed from the comics.
The Kents weren't even farmers, or from Kansas, before the movie.
That’s not true.
They’re farmers in the novel written by the head writer of the radio show in like 1942, which Superman The Movie was influenced by, particularly the Krypton sequence. There’s no question Tom Mankiewicz read it.
the only correct thing here is that Smallville wasn't specified to be in Kansas
How long before Metropolis I replaced with Kansas City?
*is replaced
Have a hard time picturing DC ever letting media do that. All their A listers are from fantasy locations even if they are still in real states. Its just giving up too much flexibility for no gain.
The New, Original Wonder Woman
I have not seen anyone complain about this at all. Do people care?
It would be really funny if Superman’s costume was changed in the vein of how the first two GOTG movies had different uniforms than the comics. Everything else is on point, it’s just that his suit is a brand newish take.
Kingdom Come only it’s like The Boys/Snyder/MCU stuff instead of 90s edge isn’t the worst idea. And I realize those three don’t all equal out but they’re like the modern comic movie
ITT: snyder pajeet seething
Kingdom Come is so overtly christian, how are they going to pull it off in CURRENT DAY?
>Kingdom Come
It may be a little off topic of the thread, but is it ever shown that Superman understands normal people are tired of Joker's weekly mass murders? It's been a decade since I read it.
