James Gunns DC Universe shares the same actors & characters as some of the DCEU cast
>Peacemaker will still be John Cena; S1 is not canon but says "many strands will remain consistent" aka the justice league scene at the end (KEK)
>Timeline is SUPERMAN, Peacemaker S2 then Waller
>Waller will feature the same actress that played her in the DCEU - Viola Davis
>Creature Commandos (Animated) will be set before SUPERMAN, will also officially be the start of Gunns DCU

I'm prepared!
I lived thru Fox X-Men and DC Warner TV Series...
Black Adam really did change the hierarchy of power....
That's not confusing at all
You may be moronic
You’re being a pedantic homosexual about the word choice or the severity but it’s absolutely convoluted to say “this show, which is a spin off of a reboot from a prior film universe, is canon to these new movies, but not he first season which is canon to the movies we’re rebooting from which is different but also not the same as the movie we rebooted.”
A spin off based on a reboot, continuing through another reboot is overly convoluted. Just cancel the shit and move on.
This post illustrates why the MCU was a mistake. “Oh my god the same actor is playing the same role but in different canons my head is gonna explooooooooooooooode!” Horror movies have been doing this shit for decades stop being so fricking autistic about continuity who gives a frick Jesus Christ
The Halloween and Texas Chainsaw Massacre timelines are an utter mess. No one should try to replicate that. None of those new partial-reboot movies are even any good.
>The Halloween and Texas Chainsaw Massacre timelines are an utter mess
And guess what? No one gives a shit. The only people who care about this shit are the idiots going “oh James Bond’s been played by multiple people that must mean the name James Bond’s just a title!” or “Batman’s played by a different actor in Batman Forever?? Is it still canon with Batman and Batman Returns???” The MCU and Flash introducing the idea of past actors being in a different multiverse or whatever is so goddamn homosexual masturbatory I fricking hate it
> No one gives a shit
You're right about that, no one watched either of those franchises by the end. The same fate for DC.
>And guess what? No one gives a shit.
No shit? People don't give a shit when every movie is just restarting the franchise
Restarting/rebooting is the natural order of things. Getting complicated with it with "okay these movies count but these don't" leads to people tuning out. It's the same frick up DC has been doing since the Crisis.
He's just Psycho Pirate in the DC movies now.
Picrel was the original plans to have Peacemaker remember everything after Final Crisis.
It is very confusing to Normies and turns people off.
why would this be confusing? people who aren't obsessed with lore (99.9% of the audience) won't worry about the actor being the same, and people who are obsessed will already know or enjoy finding out the distinction.
normies don't give a shit, they can barely keep the events of a single movie straight in their heads
DC throwing canonicity and continuity at the wall is comics accurate though
Anyway the only one that's questionable/moronic is the first one since casuals get confused easily
They may be fine with comic fans but the general audience will be confused and aren't as forgiving when it comes to TV and Movies
>James Gunns' DCU; prepare to be confused
I, like most people, won't watch this shit-show.
All of this fussing over what's canon and what's not is dumb, but it wouldn't be problem as long as it is done in a way that doesn't matter to the story. If I don't notice it, then the debate might as well not exist.
If I do notice it, and I have to figure out continuities and other bullshit, then it becomes homework.
And this is why they should have not had a cameo with Ezra or Momoa
Gunn, te pedophile and the moron of century
Lmao it’s DOA
This is why you don’t put comic fans in charge of a superhero universe
No one likes the moronation of american comics, that’s why they’re dying while manga is thriving
>dc
>continuity
pick one, pass go without collecting
I'm just wondering if he'll lose WB even more money this time.
Let's think about it.
99% of people filling the theaters are normies. If they see old actors they'll assume that the old stuff is still relevant and they won't be able to make sense of it.
That's to say if they still fricking care.
You forgot Matt Reeves Batman, which is separate from Gunn's Batman, and there's Joker 2 coming out, who is not related to either Batman.
Seeing as James Gunn's Superman is mostly influenced by Superman For All Seasons and that has strong Christian undertones (like Superman's faith in Jesus Christ is what propels him to be a hero) so I breathe easy knowing the greatest cape of them all is in good, loving hands.
I almost called Superman the greatest hero but that's Jesus Christ for giving us a means for salvation.
>superman feels connection to israeli created myth
Kino
Superman was basically a variation of the Moses story.
Gunn doesn't strike me as someone who goes for strong Christian undertones.
He strikes me as someone rebellious who cannot shake his elect.
>Everything released before Creature Commandos is non-canon
>Creature Commandos and everything after it is canon
What's so confusing about it?
Just play along man, come on. The outrage isn't gonna feed itself.
But Suicide Squad, Black Adam, Peacemaker and Blue Beetle are partially canon.
No one knows what to watch and not, and even if they did they couldn't be bothered to care. This isn't entertainment it's homework.
Gunn literally just surfs the Marvel and DC wikis to find obscure superhero groups and pretends that he's been a fan for decades.
Wow!
It's the same stupidity that Bob and Dan agreed to in the New 52 in letting Cereal Lord's Green Lantern stay somewhat canon past the reboot and likewise the same shit when Scott Snyder didn't want to start Batgod off from scratch. In particular, having the Demon Spawn be Robin while Tim was running around being an idiot with a Teen Titan's team that ended up being a bunch of non-entity OCs like Bartor and Not Kon just because Scott Lobdell had dirt on someone in editorial was all part and parcel to what ruined whatever good came from the New52.
In the same way, Gunn not willing to burn everything down just to save his own little kingdom is going to mean that his DCU is going to start off with a poorly built foundation that's sure to fall down on WB's ass.
I mean don't forget there was still Morrison's Batman run to finish up. That was a big reason the Bat line didn't reboot fully.
The sooner James Gunn is exposed as a pedo elite, the better.
DC is such a mess. Marvel should just plan to do their own Superman, Batman, and Wonderwoman because by the time DC gets their stuff in line it will be PUBLIC DOMAIN
