>MeanGirls83.4M
get woke get rich
What was the budget?
36+200 for marketing which is like 500 adjusted for inflation and it will need 2bn to break even. Tina Fey is done
>pile of shit remake nowhere near breakeven
The original made $130 million 20 years ago.
$36 million production budget. At a guess $15-20 million for marketing. By the time it finishes its theatrical run it will probably be marginally profitable.

>Hollywood released only 4 movies in January and one of them flopped
Hollywood wishes:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Book_of_Clarence
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origin_(film)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I.S.S._(film)
You might notice something about the lead in each of these movies.
So Hollywood released 7 movies and 4 (maybe 3 I.S.S. has a chance to break even)
*4 of them flopped
The slate this year is going to be really thin for a bunch of studios. Production was only starting to get back up to pre-COVID levels over the last 18 months and then it got hit by two multi-month long strikes.
Netflix has some Glen Powell romcom that's received solid reviews. They should give it more than a token theatrical release to capitalize on Anyone But You. Other direct-to-streaming movies are probably going to get runs. Mean Girls was supposed to be for Paramount+.
>Glen Powell
Is he popular?
Meanwhile, 25 years ago....
what is that adjusted to bidenbucks (inflation)?
Hollywood leaving Russia probably left a lot of space for domestic studios, it seems they're doing rather well
BEES!?
Soon women from all over the world will be putting for South Asians
So uh... when do the movies finally start coming out? This is already 1/12 of the year
At least Wonka grossed 500+ million
Isn't January the dump off month for the shitty movies?
February is worse but basically every between the end of Oscar season and the beginning of the summer flick season is the time when studios dump their garbage
>Russian movies are earning $40 million despite heavy sanctions and ruble hitting all time low
So they would be earning $200 if it weren't for the war?
Are they not benefitting from having zero burger movies competing with them?
Aren't they still showing hollywood movies that they pirate from neighboring countries?
Hollywood lost China and lost 20-25% of income with it
Maybe they should've focused more on giving their home country's market what they wanted so the loss of one foreign market didn't cripple them.
Okay and what do you suggest how can Hollywood regain it's former state?
China still loves Aquaman thou
it's honey season
Beebros, we WON.
