These aren't fantasy characters, I know what they look like. If you see some dude walking around saying "I'm Dan Ackroyd", then it doesn't look like him, it won't work. I won't be able to keep who these idiots are during the film.
Given Chevy Chase's impersonation of President Ford where he made zero effort to look like Ford, it would be fitting to have someone in the movie to play Chase who doesn't look like him at all or maybe looks like Gerald Ford.
